"Five years ago I had Century Hardwood flooring installed in part of my home. This year I wanted to add more of the same product to other areas in my home. It is a prefinished hardwood so I was not sure if the product was still sold and if colors would match. I went back to where I purchased the floor originally, no luck they no longer carry the product. I called Century Hardwood direct and while they were very helpful, the company they connected me with was very flakey. I never got my product. Then I found you! You got me the product, and shipped it to my front door! We just finished with the install, and no one would ever be able to tell old from new. You made the process very easy. You are in Georgia, we are in Colorado, but it was like you were down the street. One of the easiest home improvement purchases I have ever made."

"When the palette arrived, the delivery driver was fantastic, he pointed out that the boxes looked damaged, and asked if I wanted to refuse delivery. As we were going to try to put in the flooring the very next day, I decided to just accept delivery and deal with it.
The palette had the boxes of flooring stacked on it, and were then shrink wrapped. By the very nature of it, it was quite obvious the boxes had suffered their damage *before* being shrink wrapped and shipped off. Sure, I suppose there is some way that the palette somehow rolled out a truck, and the shipping company replaced the damaged palette and reapplied the shrink wrapping, and tried to pass it off. But clearly that just doesn't make sense. What makes more sense, is that those boxes were damaged before being shrink wrapped.
Of the 13 boxes of flooring, the equivalent of 4 full boxes of flooring was unusable, with the corners of the flooring damaged. Luckily I was able to order 4 more boxes from a local flooring store, which arrived in time, and all of which were in pristine condition.
Now, granted, I never reached out to American to achieve any resolution, and I can't be certain that the damage occurred before shipping. But there is one last point to mention. And that is, within hours of placing my order, I received an email from American indicating that my order had been cancelled. Among the flurry of attempting to locate another source, I did reach out to American to find out that indeed, my order was still fine, and would still arrive. So what the what? If a employee mistakenly punched in an order (note that even the email requesting me to write this review came duplicated, so I technically have 2 order numbers even though it was in fact a single order), then send a darn email or pick up the phone to let the customer know that in fact the order had not been cancelled. And the fact that in their system it still shows I had 2 orders?!
So yeah, I'm going to go with the 3 stars is justified, and it seems most likely that they knowingly shipped out heavily damaged flooring.
Would I ever, under any circumstances, use them again? Nope.
Did I have a much better experience with a local flooring company, even though it meant paying about 11% more? Yup. Did I learn my lesson? Yup."
