"Computer builder - I purchased an Asus Motherboard P4C800-E Deluxe from comp -U -Plus. It was a closeout special whitebox, what I got was a defective motherboard that already had a return RMA sheet on it, no return was available to me,no refund,no recourse whatsoever. I was totally ripped off, no ifs and or buts about it, and no response form them at all, I will never do buisness with them again. I strongly recommend you do no either. "

"I'm a long time, though infrequent, user of compuplus. They have always delivered promptly, and have some great deals, though not all are the best.
They are a valuable resource, but please be aware of what you order, since the customer service appears sub par.
I am quite satisfied with them, and impressed with their speed. It's unfortuntate that dissatisfied customers tend to take the time to report bad experiences while satisfied customers tend to not bother. I do.

"I ordered a Garmin Legend C $201.95 they had one of the best prices on internet. Should have known things would go bad when the shipping started off at $14.95 for a two pound item (including packaging). Then I added a Mack warranty reasonable price $17.99 and a cheap case (like a cell phone case) for 14.95 (else where 9.95). When I went back to the order page the price of shipping when up to $24.95. a $10 increase for a piece of paper and very light case. I accidentally submitted the order before I noticed this. I then had to call the Non toll free number for customer service and wait on hold for 15 minutes to cancel the order because customer service could do nothing about the shipping charges. Then I got to call the toll free number and wait another 15 minutes to be told that could change the shipping from 24.95 to 19.95. It shipped and arrived in the specified time frame BUT without the $14.95 carrying case and with parts missing from the Garmin (Belt Clip & Button)"

"3 items ordered Dec. 8, 2005, reported to be in stock and "usually" ships within 1-2 days. On Dec 10 I got an e-mail that items were being shipped, my credit card had been charged, and included a tracking number for UPS. I didn't follow the tracking number at that time. One week later, no package so I tracked the order, only to find that only billing info. had been received, no package had actually been brought in for shipping. Compuplus has no toll-free customer service number, only toll-free to order. I called anyway, and was put on hold 20 minutes before hanging up. I sent 5 e-mails, none were acknowledged. Although I ordered and paid for items 3 weeks before Christmas, I still have nothing to show for it. I would never order from Comp-U-Plus again. It has been one of only two negative experiences I have had when ordering online."

"Very fast service. I ordered my product on Monday and recieved it on Thursday via UPS Ground. In fact they sent me the traking number after the package had arived at my shipping address. The product came in as promised, brand new for the same price as some merchants had the product refurbished. Only my first order with this merchant but definately would order from them again in the future."

"***Before you order, call Comp-U-Plus customer service and get a sense for what you can expect after the sale***

I will never order from Comp-U-Plus again. I ordered a GSM Smartphone from them when I should have ordered a CDMA. I didn't figure it out until it was charged. I should pay *something* for my mistake, right?

I requested either a return-for-refund or return-for-credit, after a restocking fee. Nope!

The customer "service" perople kept coming back to , "...our web page CLEARLY states, blah-blah." About the CDMA/GSM issue.

In fairness, the verbiage was there, but in about 6-point font.

In the end, I sold it for the purchase price on Craig's List, in about four hours. I should have started there.

Now, Comp-U-Plus doesn't have to pretend to offer service-after-sale anymore, where I am concerned.

I wasted a couple of weeks trying to reach someone who would at least evaluate my situation on its merits - - nothing.

Before you order, go to their web page, to the "contact/about us areas. Test your ability to escalate to another level of the company.

You can even try searching for corporate info on the web. A company that is this invisible must have a reason. *Not* providing service is clearly part of their business plan.

" I bought a motherboard from this site to complete my computer build. I got the motherboard and it was dead, it happens. I called the company to see about an exchange and they said I am basically SOL on my own. There website leads one to believe the give refunds/exchanges, but this is an illusion. Once they have your money, they dont know you and your stuck with whatever trash you got. Because I needed this part I had to order it from another company and now im out of $100+ dollars for doing busines with Comp-u-plus. With all the companys to buy from, COMP-U-PLUS IS DEFINATELY ONE TO AVOID!!! I wish I would have found this site earlier and checked their poor rating. I will from now on."

"Ordered 1 gig sd card - got 128 meg. Requested prepaid label and the card I ordered, then I would send the mistake back. Got 1 gig card. Sent 128 card back using their label. They didn't think it came back enough (THEY didn't bother to use the tracking number from THEIR label) and charged me for the 128 meg card WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE! I only found out when they sent me an email telling me that they credited me for $17.50. "
