"A VERY satisfied customer

I ordered 3 items from Geeks; Video Card, Computer Case & USB TV Tuner. ALL items were shipped the next business day as I ordered them late the evening before. ALL items arrived in 6 days, and so far, I’m VERY satisfied with all three.

Two of the items were shipped from Geeks, and the USB TV Tuner was drop shipped.

I’ve only ordered from Geeks once before, and that was about 8 years ago. I don’t know why it has taken me so long to order from them again (Big brain fart, I guess), as I was very satisfied with them 8 years ago as I was just a couple of weeks ago.

I realize customers sometimes get a product DOA or simply just not the correct item as ordered as I have had this happen to me before with other companies; sh** happens. I’ll give a company a couple of tries in correcting the problem before I really get irate, especially if I catch them lying to me. If they don’t it corrected to my satisfaction by then, they’ll then have a serious problem on their hands in dealing with me.

I expect to be ordering more from Geeks in the near future.

NOTE: The following has nothing to do with GEEKS, just FED-EX & UPS.

I completely despise FED-EX and UPS shipping schedules. Both of these orders were shipped via FED-EX. One shipment of mine sat in NJ for 4 days, and then they decided to release it and it arrived in Indiana in 2 days. Why?? The other one shipped from the factory and arrived in two days.

"Worst experience ever. Received a defective component with the order and needed to contact Customer Service. Reps constantly lie about solutions that never do, promise to send replacement and never happens, even laugh about complaints on the phone, rudely disconnect while describing a problem, hold for hours on long distance charges (no 800 number), promise to call back due to congested lines and never do it, hold on line until offices close and all kinds of dirty practices. Called them 8 times and still do not have any solution at all. By far the worst experience I have ever had with any company before."

"I LOVE GEEKS!! I've made many purchases from them over the years now, including the laptop I am typing this on (!) and they have allowed my technolust lifestyle (for lack of a better term) to be an affordable reality. Though I have had some issues with defects here and there, they are always prompt in sending me an RMA and replacing or crediting the item. This is where a company sinks or swims in my book. But overall I have had very good experiences with the purchases I have made and will continue to go to Geeks for all my gadgetry!

"Geeks.com is horrible. I normally don’t buy refurbished electronics because I know that there is a slight risk involved, but I decided to give it a shot with Geeks.com. That was my first mistake. I ordered a Logitech MX Revolution 12/3/2008 and it was shipped the next day. A few days later I got the mouse. It was Dead on Arrival. I contacted Geeks.com on December 11th to let them know it was defective and as soon as I dug myself out of the Ice storm in the northeast I sent the mouse back. I sent it on Dec. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited until Jan 6 to contact them. I was told that it hadn’t arrived yet. On the 9th I requested a refund instead of replacement because they were taking so long – no response. On the 13th I called again and was told that it hadn’t been received yet despite the USPS slip that said it was delivered on December 30th. I told the rep this and she had someone check out back. It was found on the dock and I should get my refund in 3-5 days she tells me. I call again on Jan 19 because I have not received my refund and there is no record of my call on the 13th. I am told the item has not been received. I again give them the tracking number and the find it on the dock. Supposedly I forgot to write the RMA# on it. My OCD tells me otherwise. That’s ok, she tells me that it is received now and I will have my refund in 3-5 days. On Jan 27th I call again because I have not received my refund. I am told that I was given store credit because the item was not received by them in under 30 days, to which I told her that was because it sat on their dock for over 2 weeks. I am then told that it will be taken care of and my account will be updated that day and I will receive my refund in 3-5 days. My account still hasn’t been updated and there is no hint of refund for the item not to mention the cost of shipping a dead mouse twice and my phone minutes that I’ve burned through on hold waiting for someone to lie to me once again.

Geeks.com is a terrible company. Avoid them at all costs!

"The DVD burner I purchased was DOA. Geeks would simply not repond to my requests for a return. Had to file a disputed charge complaint with credit card company. You are really taking a chance ordering from this company."

"I originally ordered a motherboard and a few smaller peripherals on Nov 24th. I received them in a normal time frame, but the motherboard which was DOA/Would not Post. I requested and received an RMA, and sent it back which they received on Dec 10th.
A replacement motherboard was shipped out Dec 13th, which I received a few days later. This motherboard was DOA/Would not Post as well. I requested and received a second RMA, shipped this motherboard back which they received on the 24th of Dec. The incident was updated Jan 6th, and since then I have had no update. I understand defective merchandise from the manufacturer is not the resellers fault, but I have been waiting 2 months now since the original order, as well as have paid for shipping to my hous, then back to geeks.com twice and still do not have any update when an RMA will be shipped out.

"BUYER BEWARE NO SERVICE AFTER THE SALE

I only write this negative review after sending emails to customer service on 3 separate days , a fax and trying to call to requesting an RMA for a Polaroid DPA-07046Q Portable DVD player purchased on 21-Nov-08 as a Christmas gift for my wife. The product was DOA as it contained a broken power switch. This was found after opening it from the hard calm shell packaging. I emailed Geeks Customer Support on 06-Jan-09 and received an email from Keena stating that my email had been forward to Customer Service, I was not contacted so I forward the email from Kenna again to Customer Service containing all of the original information on 08-Jan-09. On 14-Jan-09 I still had not been contacted by Customer Service so I tried to call and was placed on hold for over and hour so I gave up and send a detailed fax on 14-Jan-09. On 19-Jan-08 now frustrated I send a final email to Customer service asking them to contact me or I would have to place negative feedback on the rating sites. As of 9:00 PM EST I have had not had any contact with Customer Service. I have made 12 previous purchases at Geeks.com since 31-DEC-05 with no problems with any item because until now I never needed to return anything before. My advise is BUYER BEWARE stay away for this site if you do have any type of quality issue you are on you own as there is no customer service.

Update, I was contacted by Geeks on 21-Jan-09 and given a RMA the same day. Product was returned and a in store credit was given on 02-Feb-09. I am now satisfied with the resolution of this issue but would be weary and cautious of placing another order because of the negative experience and amount of effort required on my part to resolve this issue.

"I found the geeks.com website via some co-workers who thought it was a good source for low price items. I had been shopping for mp3 players for my sons for Christmas and the one I wanted at newegg.com was on back order or the sale had ended, I honestly do not remember which. Anyhow, I saw some "generic" mp4 players and decided the price was right and ordered them. I put them away until Christmas and much to my dismay, one of them failed after only a week of use. Geeks.com will not return my inquiries about getting a replacement. I would not do business with them again. I spent over a hundred dollars on my first order and it will be the last. I will stick with newegg from now on."

"8GB USB 2.0 MP4/MP3/FM/ Voice/1.3M... ordered on 1/12, shipmenet and delivery on time. The instruction CD send with the item was for Windows 95, and would not work on Windows XP. The instruction manual was a joke, did not give any useful information. My email to Geeks for a new CD and user manual went unanaswered. They did make returniing the item easy. I would not do business with them again."

"I bought a digitalizer for slides from Geeks.com. I found this store doing searches on the web so I had no idea whether they were a good vendor or not. I took my chances because their price was the best I had found for the item I ordered. I intended to give this as a Christmas present. I received the item within 3 days. I was surprised as to the promptness of the shipment.

The person I gave the digitalizer to gave it back to me after Christmas because it did not support her operating system.

The problem I was faced with was that now, I had to return an item that I had bought 45 days before and this company had a moeny back guarantee only if returns were done within 30 days.

I took my chances and called Customer Support and explained my conundrum. I was willing to accept store credit if nothing else could be done. The representative on the phone was professional and very nice. He immediately provided me with an RMA and he even waved the 15% return fee. He did not give me a hard time, I only had to explain once, he was curteous and efficient and I was done with the whole thing in less than 10 minutes.

Honestly, I haven't had such a nice experience with any vendor be on the internet, phone or in person in years. Geeks you got a lifetime customer. You are great!

"Ordered 5 each: G-650-DF-GOLD -- Green 650W 20+4-pin Dual-Fan ATX PSU w/SATA Gold power supplies. one turned out to be bad. as Fate would have it, it was the first one i tried to use. when my board did not power up, i broke out my trusty power supply tester to check them all. i called geeks customer support and they shipped a replacement out to me ASAP. it tested fine and is in use. i've used geeks numerous times in the past and will continue to in the future. i also recommend them whenever possible because of their Excellent customer service and prompt shipping. thanks again! jbatnasa"

Customer service is non-existant!
Finally got an RMA on 1/16, not on 1/14, which is what the fictitious replay says. Stay away from here!!!
