"I sent two emails to geeks.com asking if the Canon ip3500 was in stock. I never got a reply. They could have paid me the courtesy of a reply.
The day after I posted this I received email from them. I guess I was too hasty. My order arrived in time.

"This is my second and the last experience with this "seller". First time I received totally different item than i ordered. Obtained RMA # and sent them back. I got an e-mail : "We received a PCI card TV tuner instead of SAA7135 which is for desktop. You would need to send back the right item, in order for us to give you a REFUND. As for the wrong item sent in, you would need to provide a pre-paid label in order for us to ship it back to you." Funny , isn't it ? They can't give me a refund cause ....they sent me wrong item.

Another order :
Headphones - unusable
MP3 player refurbished - at geeks.com means everything. Mine was wrapped in plastic with no any box and....black screen , not working at all.
Another RMA, shipping back at my cost, awaiting 8 weeks - no money refund. I'm about to report a fraud.

Conclusion : if you like to waste some money and your time this is right place indeed. Otherwise - BEWARE !

update: finally, after 6 (! ) weeks got the refund. Thanks God !

"Customer Service focus on this review.

[Good:] Received order well within ground shipping expectations. [Bad:] Only 4 of the 5 items were correct. [Bad:] When calling, first had to look past first customer service number on invoice to notice that returns and mis-shipments use a different number. [Bad:] Then they were not open for the weekend at all. Monday came and the call got an automated system that first told me [Good:] there were zero (0) callers ahead of me. [Tolerable:] Annoyingly short cycles of "Thank you for calling..." message, followed by number of callers ahead of me, followed by maybe 5 or 6 seconds of canned 'reassurance with ads on hold' babble ... [Bad:] but, the number of "callers ahead of you" ROSE to one (1), then two (2), completely erasing confidence in a quick response. Waited through all this for over 18 more minutes while the number "ahead" of me danced between one and two, until suprised by CS rep answering. [Bad:] Then it took 15 more minutes, with many long long pauses (but never on hold) with a very unconfident sounding rep and audible answers from her supervisor, until... [Bad:] finding out desired product not currently in stock (it was an office organization product, not a "geek" computer part, so some customers may not care). [Good:] Offered choice between backordering and refund, I chose refund. [Good:] Did not ask for return shipment of unordered item sent by mistake, and ... [Good:] refund credit occurred within five (5) business days, including a (small) portion of original (small) S&H.

Customer Service scores: Good=5, Bad=6, Other=1

P.S.: The power supply received in the order did not provide the rarely used -5 volts (pin not even there on the connector), and I had to scour my motherboard's manual to discover that it _probably_ doesn't require it. And the 12cm fan (or a part in the switching power supply itself) seems to "whistle" very softly at times... most wouldn't notice it, but I wanted a _quiet_ unit, and the non-consistant nature of the sound draws my attention. Oh well...

"Ordered a motherboard from them & they sent the wrong one, not even the same socket type! When I called them, they told me the MB I ordered was out of stock & they had nothing comparable.
I returned the wrong motherboard, which they received on 10/21. Their email said it would be 7-10 days to process a refund. I waited.
On Nov 17 I had to email them about the refund I was due. Finally, on Nov 18 they returned my money. They sat on my refund for nearly a MONTH!
I wonder, if I had not contacted them, would I have ever got my money back??
My experience with them: items not in stock - so they ship whatever is on hand & take my money - then keep my money till I complain.
That was the first & LAST time I will shop there.

"NK-122-BE -- Notebook Cooler Pad w/1 184mm Blue LED was same as described and was an excellent buy.
It extremely quite and look like a cool gadget.
In now using my laptop full blown performance, before it was heating up and that had an heavy effected on performance.

be careful because this gadget is extremely delicate avoid using on bed (the fan beaks off from the base if so quick-fix instant glue helps)...

"I recently bought a digital camera from geeks.com for my sister on Thanksgiving Day and was surprised to receive it that Saturday! I've bought my laptop and other electronics directly from their showroom but this was my first time buying something from them online! I was highly impressed due to that fact that it was a holiday and that I got their free shipping! "I purchased a motherboard (A8N-LA-PB - Asus A8N-LA GeForce 6150 LE Socket 939) that was advertised as new (but whitebox OEM) on the Computer Geeks website. I received it yesterday and it clearly is not new. The antistatic bag is sealed but appears to have been reused (lots of wrinkles and a hole torn in it), the white box it came in appears to have been reused, and the motherboard itself shows signs of having previously been in use. I believe this mobo to be a system pull or a refurb -- not new as advertised. In my experience, manufacturers do not reuse packing supplies when shipping new OEM or whitebox items. I purchase lots of computer parts online and can distinguish between used and new quite easily.

Computer Geeks responded promptly to my concern but had no apology or explanation....and they only offered a standard RMA in which I would have to pay to/from shipping charges and a 15% restocking fee, I suppose. This is unacceptable. I do not I do not expect to have to pay shipping (either initial or return) since they advertised this as a new motherboard and it is definitely not new.

This is my first purchase from Computer Geeks but it is likely to be my last unless they offer to refund my entire purchase price (including shipping) and provide a prepaid label for the return.

Further updates to come (hopefully).
