"Delivered on time; exactly what I ordered, refurbished amd x2 5200. Their honesty made it easier to prepare(drivers hard to find); saved me hours of work after I got the computer. I Had everything ready, and the computer was running in an hour."
"It's disturbing to see the trend of this once good company. They were good at what they did a few years ago but it seems like the quality of service has greatly decreased since I last ordered from this company.
I've ordered from them in the past 3 years. Apparently in 2007 they were hacked and had specific credit card data stolen. Supposedly they sent out an email regarding this. I have never received an email about them being hacked and having data stolen.
Their website is also frequently down. This didn't happen a few years ago. Why are they having all of these problem now? For a company of this size that shouldn't be happening. Also, if they can't figure out how to keep their website running 24/7, then how can I be assured they know how to keep my data safe?
I'll no longer do business with Geeks.com. I once had faith in them and recommended friends to purchase from this site but now I tell them to avoid it unless they want to take a chance with the product they're ordering and with the security of their data."
"I do not how you get confused in sending a USB ext. cable, instead of a USB to camera confused. Emailed geeks.com on Friday no answer on Saturday, guess I will have to wait and do? , What a pain in the butt.

"The merchandise from Computer Geeks is excellent and always priced below the competition. I've occasionally checked for the same item elsewhere, but ALWAYS find that the Geeks is the lowest, so I hardly check anymore, I trust them! Every morning I turn on the computer to see their new arrivals and look for the items I need. They have everything easy to find and do a terrific job with descriptions and product pictures. Nobody does it better! If I can't see the details for an item I want, I won't buy. The Geeks understands this very well and has everything clear, easy to read, and if something is refurb, then it's stated, other suppliers hide things in fine print. I need lots of information on the first discription page which only the Geeks does, there's hardly any need to go to the manufactures page. I am one very happy Geeks buyer!

"I've been ordering from Geeks.com for more a year. All of my previous orders went well and was satisfied with their products service...until 2 weeks ago.
I ordered a couple of items in early December and as usual the order took less than 1 week. One of the items was DOA. It is a 250 GB harddisk that I ordered so that I can use to back up all my family pictures and videos..something I want to do during the winter break. I received the items last Dec 17 and immediately sent them an email requesting for a replacement. No reply from them until today, Dec 30 so I decided to call them.
I tried to call them 3 times already and 3 times they tried get my name and number and told me they will call me back because of the heavy volume of callers. Guess what ? it's been 70 minutes since the first time I called. I guess there is only one person answering all the calls.
I hope Geeks will improve their customer service or they will lose customers."
"Order was received by Geeks.com on Dec. 21st & is scheduled to arrive on Dec. 31st.
Website was user friendly - I ordered from an email list of items."
"I am living in Isreal and I ordered a refurbished HP Pavilion dv9847ca Laptop.
The order paid by wire transfer and shipped to my friend that lives in NJ.
Everything went smoothly.
The service was excellent, they helped me a lot throughout the payment process.
The Laptop was in excellent condition! look new from the box, run and with no problems I can see."
"Ordered 3 items: 1 - (1GB DDR) worked perfectly
2- (2.66GHz P4 @ 533MHz FSB) had intermittent issues with my MB
3- (7200RPM -160 gb HD) arrived DOA
sent back 2 & 3 -
They replaced 3 with an slower (5400 RPM 160GB) HD even though the return policy states the replaced Item will be as good or better then replaced.
I contacted geeks.com via email (****@****) and Kristopher called soon after I sent the email. He resolved the problem by refunding the cost difference between the drive returned and the replacement drive. Since I also complained about having to pay return shipping, that was refunded also. (total refund $17). Both replacement items were in working order and as advertised.
I might use Geeks.com again if looking for heavily discounted refurbished items."
"The only problem I had was the delay in actually shipping the item after I ordered. However, it was ordered on the 15th of December and they could have been buzy."
"Awesome customer service. I ordered the wrong item and was given my choices. No problems at all! Highly recommended. Shipping was incredibly fast. Items arrived in excellent condition. "
"I've been ordering computer equipment since 2004 from this company. They are very reliable and ship the same day order is placed. Had a problem with item being broke during shipping and they promptly replaced the item free of charge. Tehy are an excellent company to do business with. The only drawback is that they dont have a toll free number for contacting them.
Happy Holidays and Great shopping at Geeks.com!"
"I have been looking for a Tablet PC specifically HP Lenovo and Toshiba comparing all of them. I was also looking out for HP deals and coupons and one night I just search on a paypal merchant list for HP TX2500z and I found a Refurbished HP TX2500Z from geeks.com lots of them but different combination of specs some of them "almost gone" and some of them already "out of Stock", luckily I looked for the most expensive among the list $710+ it was in stock with all the specs (well almost) I want. I ordered this Dec. and in a week I got the laptop via Fedex. I was a little hesitant of buying a refurbished laptop but couldn't let it pass since it is such a deal specially with the following specs (as advertised):
HP TX2500Z 12.1 in amd ZM-86 2.4 ghz, 4GB, 320 GB, 802.11g wireless, dvd RW dl drv, media reader Windows Vista Ultimate.
NO Webcam
NO Lightscribe
NO Fingerprint Reader
I wanted it to have the others but the specs it already has weighs more than what it doesn't have.
While waiting for it to arrive, I started reading reviews regarding the products Geeks.com sell and their customer service and I began to get worried, some people said stay away from refurbished products they sell including laptops.
So I started looking around for another deal HP 2710p and almost bought one. But opted to wait till I get the laptop and I can decide then whatever happens I can just sell it since it is still cheap.
Anyway, it arrived within a week I ordered it Saturday and got it next Saturday via Home Delivery. My initial reaction was, it is well packged. The laptop is in the HP Refurbished box inside a big box. I ckecked the specs outside the refurbished box before opening it to make sure it is the same specs I ordered and there were some really nice surprises.
The outside sticker said it has:
Lightscribe
It also has Wireless N instead of G which is better.
So I opened the box up and Laptop pretty much looking new but without the plastic cover on the laptop itself.
I opened it up and VOILA! there is a WEBCAM and even a Fingerprint Reader.
Also even though it is refurbished still looks fairly new, I noticed a few very very fine scratches and very very small dent on the paint as in really small.
Last but not the least, I put the battery pack in and noticed it is an 8-Cell battery.
I checked the Service Tag sticker under the laptop and it said the it is a Refurbished TX2500 with 90 Day Warranty.
Although it didn't come with a mini remote control that usually comes with the model it is a refurbished item and refurbished products are sometimes used then returned by users for some reason, some was not even opened was an order cancellation, some opened but not new but they repackage them and check it and label it as refurbished some don't include complete accessories, also the advertized specs on the Geeks.com said it doesn't come with the remote so it is ok with me.
The only thing I noticed when I started checking the outside of the laptop is the back panel of the laptop where the keyboard is connected near the screen is not connected right, it is opened up a bit and there were 2 small scratches on it I tried pushed it down to the base of the laptop with a little pressure and heard a click and now it is fine. That is the only noticeable problem I had with the unit itself. It has just been days it is functioning fine so I am still going to check the laptop. If there is a problem I am just going to call HP instead of Geeks because it has a 90 day warranty and from what I know the resellers who sell items with valid manufacturer warranty don't check the items they just sell them.
Geeks don't have a satisfaction guarantee everything is final so it is up to the buyer to take the risk. And hope it comes with a warranty and now I am thinking of buying an additional warranty for my laptop just in case.
I noticed one weird thing about their shipping though. About 2 days after I made my order, I check the status of my order on the Geeks site and it says shipped with a Fedex tracking and when I clicked on it it brought me to a Fedex Express tracking which is within the Geeks site (https://www.geeks.com/images/promotions/fedex/fedex.asp?ordernnbr...) status said "it was loaded on to trailer" and "left the Geeks warehouse". But when I checked the tracking straight from the Fedex site (http://www.fedex.com) status is "Package data transmitted.." And the time was 9 hours after the time on the Geeks tracking where it said it was already loaded on to the trailer. After 2 days the Fedex Tracking site status said that it was just "picked up". That was 2 days after their tracking (Geeks.com Fedex Express tracking) said it was already shipped. Now the Fedex Express tracking on the Geeks site still has the same status. Even now after I received it, it is still the same but of course on Fedex.com it is said it was already delivered. But even after their weird tracking it is is still fast 2 days delivery since the ACTUAL Fedex pickup. This does not affect me that much since I got it fast but for some who may received theirs longer than usual this may look misleading. So my advise is if you check the status of your order and the tracking is there make sure you go straight to the Fedex.com which is more accurate.
Sorry for the long review, but all in all, I am happy with the delivery time, the item that I got was more than I expected even with the few very fine small scratches which others may not even see 3 small ones visible it is still pretty much looks new. The same HP TX2500z specs brand new fully loaded will come go for $1600+ and $1100-$1200+ with coupons on the HP Site. The laptop was well-packaged also.
Hope this helps.

"Order was shipped almost immediately, one item was wrong, but 1 call and all is well. Very satisfied with service, and will most definately will use GEEKS again. Don't anticipate any problems with reorder."
"I ordered a Canon Pixma ip 45oo printer from Geeks- my first order with them, but I have been buying online alot for years. The order went fine and I recieved the printer in new condition. The unit is for Canada not the US where is where I live. Canon states the warrenty is only good in Canada. I have tried 3 times to reach Geeks with email and have not heard anything addressing my question. I was approached by some after market warrenty company "Square Trade" about buying a warrenty, but I'm waiting for Geeks to tell me what the deal is with Canons warrenty before I spend more mony on an extra warrenty. I think today is my last chance to buy the other warrenty so I guess now I'm screwed it it breaks. I am not happy with the after sale service from Geeks-they treat you like your invisible after they get your money. (12/27/08) The24-48 hours is past and still waiting for that email from Geeks"
"I have ordered from Geeks.com in the past and was always very satisfied. This order I received an item that did not work. I returned it to them following their very simple return directions. I was a bit concerned that a replacement would be sent to me in time (this item is a Christmas gift for my son). I phoned them the other day and they shipped out the replacement Fed Ex express so that I will receive it before Christmas. While I do not have the item back yet (it is expected on 12/23) I am happy with their customer service. I do wish they had a toll free number to call as I was on hold for about 25 minutes. I was patient because I do understand this time of the year is a very busy time. All in all I have been happy with this company. A special thank you to the tech support person Gary."
