"I've been a Geeks customer since 2004, with many, many orders and thousands of dollars worth of parts and equipment. Overall, as a company, I'd say the average about a "B" to "B+" rating. Most of their items are great, exactly as described, and arrive promptly. Customer service and support are usually excellent as well. However, at times (moreso over the past year) they do suffer. On this specific order, they had registered EEC RAM described as, "This ProMOS DDR RAM electrifies your computer’s system speed! Providing a large 512 MB of memory you’ll be able to enjoy videos, music, photos, movies, TV shows, programs and more!" Unfortunately, as I later discovered (from Geeks tech support), registered EEC RAM is made for servers, not normal PCs. They are processing a return (at my expense). Admittedly, I should have done further research to verify EEC RAM would work on a standard PC, but it seems a bit shady to adverstise server RAM as PC RAM."

"HP Pavilion Entertainment PC/Notebook...wow! I've waited to buy a 17" laptop for so long. I no longer wanted a Dell and always wanted a HP. I was looking for DVD R/RW something with WIFI and ethernet. I remembered Geeks.com, I've had an account for awhile and was just checking it out, there it was!!! The PC Laptop I had been looking for that would offer me so much, for so little. There was one special thing I was looking for besides wireless, a good video card and there it had that as well, G$ Force EXCELLENT.
I cannot believe that this laptop had every detail I was looking for and now I can actually play my Rollercoaster 3 on this laptop. My reg. old desktop wouldn't let me play that game, which I rec. as a gift on my B-day in Feb. 2008.
Geeks.com has offered me many items in which I bought over the years. Great quality, everything you would want and you can find in stores, yet at almost 1/3 the cost. My PC should have been at least $1800. or more, everything on it total; $699.99 YES!!!!!!!!!

"The jerk who isnt happy with Geeks needs to take some viagra or prozack. Geeks is the most professionally cutomer orineted company I have ever delt with. Yeah so you got put on hold, they must be lsitening to snivelers like you! I spend thousands with Geeks the FEW issues I have ever had, have been completely and timely handled FAST with no hassel. Read the fine print jerk, most of the time you pay shipping back ONE WAY. In most cases Geeks will ship a replacement to you just because they value you as a customer. I will continue to use them, as does my family and all my friends. KUDOS to geeks!"

"Excellent packaging. Order shipped in the same day. Received a bad motherboard in my order. Called technical support and received an advance shipped replacement. This is excellent. Be careful about buying refurbished. Monitor purchased not the quality it should be. Left an email with Technical support but received no response. Prices are good on most things. Again shop around. Overall satisfied, but would have perferred a response concerning my monitor. Would still buy from Geeks.com again."
"I ordered a Seagate factory recertified SATA drive for my laptop back in July. Drive is stated to have a 1-year warranty & that support is provided by Geeks.com (rather than the mfr). I have ordered from geeks.com many times before and had excellent service, but this is my first time with a warranty claim for one of their products.
After two months of service, the drive dies on September 24th. I remove & test drive, noting that the drive label identifies it as an OEM model & that support for such drives must be obtained through the seller.
I call the Computer Geeks returns department. The agent tells me they don't handle drive warranties & that I must go to Seagate for support. I tell her that the drive label referred me back to the seller, but she states "Just call Seagate, they'll handle it for you".
So I call Seagate. After giving the agent the drive model and serial over the phone, he lets me know that this is an OEM drive (as would be built into a computer for resale) and that all warranty claims must be handled through the seller. So I am stuck at this point.
I shouldn't have to call Computer Geeks and argue with their returns department to return this defective unit. Unless I can get some kind of resolution, I would not recommend buying drives from geeks.com as they are apparently sold as-is, without warranty."
"I have had generally bad luck with this company. I recently purchased a motherboard advertised as new. I got it opened and it was not new and missing some parts. I saw fingerprints on the output ports. The static bag looks like it is 20 years old by all the use it has seen and it is also opened. No driver disk. I would guess by the look of it that this board has been bought and tested and rma'd several times. I will not go through the effort of a build with a doubtful looking board. I called and got sent to several reps. Finally one agreed to rma and give a "full" refund including shipping. All seems good on the rma. I got the label and it is not a shipping label just an address label. LOL. So I call again and they promised to send me a true paid shipping label. Said I would have it as soon as he pushed the enter button. It never came. I called and store is closed. Never got the run around like this at Newegg, Amazon or even Tiger.
Then I remembered that I had ordered some items in the past and swore off the company because of bad experiences. Including a counterfeit cpu, bad power supply, and a bad hard drive etc... Four out of seven failures. I have just forgotten all of the problems. Now I have another box ordered with a hard drive and an enclosure and I am afraid to accept delivery. Ugh.
This company is sketchy. I keep getting there emails and that enticed me to try again. MISTAKE. I think with Geeks that: refurbed = broken, new = opened box, almost gone = stay away.
I do not recommend and will avoid this company from now on. Too many hassles.
OOPS I DID IT AGAIN. WHY WHY WHY WOULD I ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY AGAIN????? I AM A GLUTTON FOR PUNISHMENT. Ok so an update since I cannot leave a new review. I need a socket 939 board. Not too easy to find. Decided to try again at Geeks. This time I ordered on 12/11/09. Next day they say it has been shipped. I got a tracking number for Fedex. The package has not yet been picked up. It is supposed to arrive by Fedex on the 16th. I call Fedex and they verify it has not been picked up and to call Geeks for more info. I call Geeks with the intention of canceling the order because they tell me it will not be even close to Fedex's delivery estimate. More like a week later. WHY do this? The guy at Geeks tells me that they ship to Tennessee first then Fedex picks up the package there to ship to me in Virginia. So he says it will not be given to Fedex until it arrives in Tennessee. How did they ship it to Tennessee? US postal service to TN then Fedex to VA.??? Did some guy put it in the trunk of his car to go on vacation then....?? NEVER EVER AGAIN. Not even for a hard to find part. I HAVE BEEN SLIMED."
