"My first experience with Geeks.com will not be my last. I was very pleased with the camera I received. It was refurbished, but one look at it and you would think it was brand new. Not a single scratch or blemish. I will definitely order from them again(ordered off of E-bay, but will go directly through their web site next time). They also have great prices and shipping costs. The only small issue was that when I ordered I gave a PO Box and was not notified and asked for an alternate address. They shipped by Fedex and Fedex does not deliver to PO Boxes. Not sure how both Geeks and Fedex did not realize it was a PO Box. Was able to contact Fedex and schedule a pickup at their office. But other than that this was a very good experience."
"I recently ordered a Dell computer, monitor, mouse and keyboard from Geeks.com. I recieved it pretty fast. It cost me $60.00 for shipping. When it arrived I discovered that the keyboard and mouse were not compatible with the computer, and I had to buy a usb converter. Then I tried to get online with it through dial up and discovered that it did not have a modem inside. So I had to go and buy an external modem. Then spend 6 hours with tech support with at@t to configure the computer to get online with dial up. I finally got online. When I called tech support at geeks.com they were rude to me. I won't consider buying from them again and will not recommend them to anyone."

"Ordered multiple products from Geeks on 11/22, received shipment on 25th (2 buisiness days!!!). Everything came in 1 oversized box well packaged and insulated. Unfortunately, one of the items was DOA. I was building a computer for a friend of mine to be picked up later on this week and couldn't wait for the RMA process, which was fully explained to the customer service agent. After 30 seconds on hold, I was told that a new item would be in the mail ASAP. The next day, the 26th, received email confirmation, after 2 apology emails, that my item had been shipped at 10:04 AM. Excellent customer service and follow through! Not to mention great prices. Thank you Geeks.com"

The only odd part was the entire PC was left on my front porch with no signature....fine. But the smallest piece, the video card required a signature so this was very delayed
So far it has NOT been a good experience at all with COMPUTER GEEKS. We purchased a new PC from them on November 8th 2008. After doing a LOT of research, we wanted a dual core DELL PC and Computer Geeks had some refurbished models with excellent pricing. We received an email from Computer Geeks stating the Dell Inspiron 531 model was in stock again...

When we received the PC, it had MS Windows Vista home premium installed, but it appears to either be a TRIAL version or it has an invalid activation code....it keeps telling us we have 21 days to try another code, then 20 days, etc.
I have emailed Computer Geeks support 3 times and they don't respond at all.
Be very wary to order unless you don't want to use Windows ; ( "
"I ordered a 2.5 inch hard drive for fifty bucks and an enclosure for $5.50. The order was shipped in a timely manner and I received it in a reasonable time.
I received exactly what I ordered. The drive worked great, but the $5.50 hard drive enclosure was dead on arrival.
I wrote customer support asking what to do. I used their preformated correspondence screens because they do not give you an e-mail address. I never received a response of any kind. Since it was their screens, there was no way to save a copy of my note. (Cut and paste does not work for me.)
By reading their return policy, it looks like I would have had to pay return postage. That is about the same cost as the item. So, I have decided it is not worth the effort to continue.
I do not fault them for the part failure, but I did down rate them for the lack of customer support.
I do not think this is rip-off company, so I might buy from them again if the price were significantly less than elsewhere. I think this is one of those companies where price is a higher priority than customer service. That is ok if the price is right. Figure on some extra effort if something goes wrong.

I just want to confirm that they did give me a store credit today in an amount greater than the item in question. Obviously, they monitor their feedback and want to make the customer happy. Based on this goodwill gesture, I will try buying from them again. Hopefully they can work out the flaw in their customer support e-mail failure. "
"This is my third order in a relatively short period of time. So far - extremely happy!!! A great website with low prices - if you don't mind refurbished items (I am not afraid). Some of my items were made out of the US and have interesting instructions, but nothing I couldn't figure out.
My only negative is that the items ship FedEx Ground, and when you watch the Fed Ex Tracking, the arrival dates changes on an hour-by-hour basis. On Friday morning the tracker indicates arrival on Monday; on Friday afternoon the tracker indicates arrival on Saturday; Saturday the tracker indicates arrival on Monday again; and on Monday it indicates arrival on Tuesday. The package finally shows up Wednesday.
For someone like me who wants my stuff now, but is too cheap to pay extra freight charges (it's already $9 for a $5 item!!!!!), it's frustrating. It takes anywhere from 6-11 days for a package to arrive.
But I still love the website and give it a B++/A- rating!!"
