Great window, disappointing service

"After shopping a number of vendors I decided to place my order online with DK. The price included a $60 shipping charge and estimated 5 days delivery. A day later I received a call from DK informing me that I would need to drive 4 hours to their closest warehouse or I would need to pay an additional $180 so they could ship the window via freight.

I then revised the alternative vendor sites to realize either they were not currently in stock or DK would be doing the order fulfillment. The sites partnered with DK also did not mention the additional freight cost.

Long story short. I ended up paying the difference. The window was delayed in delivery twice. The box has a corner ripped off of it when it arrived. Fortunately everything arrived in one piece.

Love the window, but would purchase elsewhere next time.

Shower door Handle Latch Catch,, Bullet type

"Perfect part was just what was required to replace the missing nub thing that fell out of the hole on the handle on the shower door. When we got the house it was missing and didn't really know what the original part looked like,, it took a bit of searching to find this SMALL part but it worked great.
We just slipped the bullet shaped part in the hole, and snugged it up with the small set screw that was already in the handle, to hold it snug in place and it worked great ,, you need to adjust how far it sticks out by testing the door by opening and closing but that took like a minute..
Perfect part now we don't have to change out the entire shower door.
We bought extras so were set if it falls out and goes missing again.

Fine but S&H issues were irritating...

"A pretty straightforward experience but then, a few days later, I was contacted to say that shipping and handling was going to be something like 10x what I was originally quoted because it was a "large item." Not sure how/why it cost $300 to ship. But I paid it. However, a few days later I was contacted AGAIN to say that they needed to charge me ANOTHER $75, this time for the use of a forklift because it needed to be taken off of the delivery truck with a forklift. I was not happy since I had just paid $300 for shipping and handling...you'd think it'd be covered under that. I told them to bill me, since I needed to meet my deadlines. About two weeks later the item arrived on time...but the delivery guy was using a dolly to move it. I had him sign the delivery document saying he didn't use a forklift - I will not be paying that $75 fee. In any event, ordering the product was easy. I haven't opened the product yet but what I can comment on is that the S&H fiasco was just that...a fiasco. "
