"Ordered item, received wrong item, return policy states you have to print out a return form (assuming you have a printer), fax the printed form (assuming you have a fax), 15% restocking fee for receiving the wrong item, emailed customer service and told to call customer service. Called cust serv and listened to a recording to try later, tried later, later, later...Tried website number and after 35 min hold person told me to print, fax form. Informed her that my printer which is also a fax is being serviced. Was told that a return authorization number would take 45 minutes to generate and I would receive a phone call with the number. 45 min, 1 hr 15 min... No call. Hope Al Qaeda is their next target."
"Ordered a Sony digital camera DSC-V3 and memory stick. Delayed about a week because my phone number didn't match the number the bank had against my credit card. Customer service staff on the phone were curt bordering on rude, but to the point. The items were shipped 1 day after I sent the correct phone no. and arrived 3 days later. Writing this because although they're not perfect, the rating here for datavision makes them seem way more scary than they really are."
"Rude, rude and more rude. I was in the market for a Sony Camcorder and found this ecommerce store using pricegrabber.com. They had the lowest total product and shipping price. The item according to their website was IN STOCK. So I placed my order online. I did receive a confirmation email thanking me for my purchase. Not 5 minutes later I receive another email saying the product is on backorder. I proceeded to cancel the order (via phone b/c they do not accept cancellations via email). And I was on hold for 17 minutes (cell phones do have timers) before speaking to a live person. I requested a cancellation and was transferred and was on hold for another 5 minutes. A guy named Keith came on and asked why I wanted to cancel. I told him about the stock issue. He said no problem. Great. Here's where the rudeness starts. I simply asked for an email confirmation - he said it'll get to you by tomorrow - I asked why tomorrow - Then in a very impolite tone he said "That's just how our system works" - So I equaled his response with a question appropriate at the time, "How do I know that you will be trustworthy and do that" b/c afterall they misguided consumers on their website - He then proceeded to say "My name is Keith, my ext. is 460 - THIS CONVERSATION IS OVER" and hung up on me."
"Ordering from DataVis.com was a smooth experience that culminated with the timely delivery of a Sony SDM-HS75P/B LCD monitor that arrived in perfect working condition. The price was attractive, but the processing of the order was unexpectedly quick. I'll be checking out DataVis again in the future. "
"Ordered a Canon Powershot S2 IS due to a good listed price. Order was stalled for several days due to credit card processing problems. After not hearing from the for 5 days, managed to contact customer service (LOONG phone wait) only to find out the item was backordered. I was in no way notified of this. Would not deal with them again."
"Do not waste your time & money with this company.
I ordered a Canon SD500 Coach Edition on 4/25/05 and was sent with older/cheaper S500 Coach Edition. Had to return it on my expanse on 5/3/05 and after that they never ship the correct model for over a month; called numerous times and all I got was bunch of lies about order has been shipped and will email the tracking numbers (Never did), just differnet stories each time I called. I finally gave up and decided to cancel the order (and their CSR agreed he will give me full refund including shipping) but today (6/7/05) my credit card statement came and they never gave me credit for the return. Called the same CSR and he's first reponse without checking anything was to check with my credit card company, he had credit it and may not show up on the statement yet (I checked and no credit from Datavis.com has been issued since the mailing of the current statement. Had to call numerous times to the same CSR to fax me the credit receipt and encountered a new series of lies again.
I will never do any more business with this company and suggest everyone to stay away from them unless you have a lot of money and time to waste.

"Absolutley the worst online shopping experience ever. Placed an order. Got a confirmation the order was placed and that was it. Made many phone calls and sent many e-mails to find out if product was ever going to ship. After 2 weeks of this I NEVER got 1 response. I finally sent an e-mail cancelling the order and adviseing them I had informed my credit card to not accept the charge. I still never received any response. I finally went down to my local store and bought the product for more. Do NOT shop here."
"Sent three times email to their specified sales address with the question about shipping charge but never received any reply.
Two weeks later and still no reply no contact from Datavision!"
"After verifying that the items I wanted were in stock via their web page. I went to the store. To my surprise nothing was in stock. Their in stock web page is a scam. To top it off, the salespeople are pretty unfriendly and the store is stocked with lots of outdated, no longer made equipment. Great place to stay away from."
"I found an incredible deal on a video card with Datavision.com. Unfortunately, I didn't check here until late in the process...but I wish I looked here first.
I ordered the card and immediately received a semi-coherent backorder e-mail from the customer service department.
I called the toll free number to find out how long the card would be backordered. The reply -- one week -- and I should receive an e-mail confirmation when it does ship.
A week passes, no e-mail. The website still lists the video card as being "In stock," so I call customer service again to find out its whereabouts. As I wait on hold, I suddenly remember to check RR.com. As I read the other horror stories, I decide to cancel the order once I manage to speak to a customer service representative.
They did manage to e-mail me a confirmation of the cancellation, but the video card (two weeks after my order) is still listed as "In stock." I'll stick to Newegg next time."
"I purchased a Fujitsu N3510 Notebook PC and overall was pleased with the experience. The original salesman I spoke with was pleasant and helpfull. He took my order and offered a couple of accessories but did not try and push me into buying them. I did however purchase an additional 3yr warranty for the Notebook. He told me I could have the PC shipped to my work but later I was told the item had to be shipped to my home/billing address. He apologized and it was not a big deal. I called customer service a couple of times to check on the shipping of my item but never got through. I ended up calling sales to talk with someone. The other two gentlemen I spoke with were'nt as pleasant as the original salesman. They were'nt rude but their attitude left me feeling like I was bothering them and that they had better things to do then to deal with a customer. I got a call from a Rhonda in customer service and she had the worst attitude of all. She really gave me the feeling that she either did'nt like her job or she was having a really bad day! The PC was shipped a couple of days after the original order
date UPS 3 day select. I received it in 3 business days. It was nicely packaged in it's box and arrived in what appears to be perfect condition. It had all of the manufactured accessories and manuals and was as advertised. Overall, I would say overlook the attitude and go for the cheaper prices. I've found that East Coast retailers, specifically New York retailers, tend to be rude or have attitudes. As long as the item is as advertised and arrives in a timely manner I'll overlook a little attitude. I'd buy from this store again."
"I just received my order from Datavis.com today, four days after first placing the order. This site was recommended by a friend for their low prices, and although I almost never shop anywhere but Newegg, I decided to check them out. Given that their price on the LCD TV I ordered was $600 less than the nearest reputable competitor, I thought I'd give them a chance. I did not think to look them up here until after I'd ordered.
Most retailers will ship an item the day after an order is received, so long as it is in stock. Most retailers will also maintain accurate inventory info on their sites. After I did not receive a confirmation number on the first business day, I decided to call their customer service line. The woman on the phone was dismissive if not down right rude, and when I inquired about a possible shipping date, I heard her yell in the background "Hey, dude, do we have the ____ in stock or not!?"
While it turned out that they did have the item, this kind of incident does not make me want to take another chance on this company. I feel lucky to have received my order only one day late (I paid a hefty sum for priority overnight shipping), but in many business situations, one day might as well be a month.
I do not plan to order from Datavis again."
"Datavision - Where Rude Staff sell Broken Promises & Frustration
I would never shop at this store again, and don't recommend it. I'm a lawyer in Vancouver, British Columbia. I placed an order for a Sony 32 inch LCD display online on February 1st, 2005. When I did so, the store said the item was in stock. I phoned first to ensure that shipping to Canada would be ok. I received confirmation of order. Then, when no shipping occurred, I checked with sales, and was told that the item was backordered. Subsequent follow up on my part for 2 weeks was met with several other promised shipment times, which were subsequently not honoured. Yesterday, March 2nd, the TV arrived. I got an email saying DataVision couldn't ship because my shipping and billing address didn't match. That was incorrect, I told them so, and I finally cleared this up. This morning, March 3rd, I received a phone call from a salesperson. He said their invoice to me was wrong, and that the actual shipping charge would be USD $230 IN ADDITION TO the shipping charge on my order confirmation. I started to explain how I had confirmed shipping charges at the outset, but I was very rudely interrupted when told "you know how this discussion will turn out, you will either pay the shipping charge we require or you will cancel your order". IE. No Discussion tolerated. I cancelled. I recommend you find another online retailer and avoid the problems I encountered. Dan Gleadle ***-***-****"
"DO NOT SHOP HERE. They have deceptive and impossible to deal with return policy. Their employees and managers try to strongarm you into keeping your product by not giving you the full value of your return. I make a $250 purchase and two separate managers denied me a full store credit, in fact one told me that he would give me $200 and nothing more despite having the original receipt. DO NOT SHOP HERE!"
"The customer service dept isn't lousy, it's nonexistent. I ordered a Sony digital camera specifically to take advantage of a limited time $50 Sony rebate. After waiting 2 weeks for my camera, I called the company only to find out it was on backorder (no mention of this when I placed the order). I mentioned the dates for the rebate and the customer service rep said her manager would make sure my invoice indicated the proper dates. It didn't. I placed several calls and unanswered emails to the company and never received the properly dated invoice, costing me the $50 rebate. I would never buy anything from this company again."
