"Don't order batteries. Twice now, I've ordered battery products and had to wait for nothing to arrive. Their support are helpful once engaged, and both orders were resent and received successfully. The amount of time it took for things to be sorted out due to shipping times are very long. I would recommend dx for items which you might want, but could be okay without for a few months. "

"DX , i loved to buy from DX for a long time because the prices were good and the lead time was short ( 3 weeks aprox) . but unfortunatlly the prices got high in the last 6 months and the lead time became 1-2 months so I am almost not using DX anymore "

"I had used DealExtreme in the past for some small items and in one case they couldn't get an item fast enough so they did refund my money after I asked what was taking so long.

With that somewhat positive experience in mind, when it came time to order a replacement battery for a PS3 controller, I remembered DealExtreme and the price was better than what Amazon or eBay could provide and I was in no hurry, so I ordered the battery and paid with PayPal. Thank goodness I did as in the end that is the only reason I didn't lose my money.

Long story short, a month had passed after they charged me for my item and shipped the battery with nothing arriving in my mailbox. As I had waited quite awhile for my item to arrive (as DealExtreme shipping is quite slow to Canada), I was now in a situation where I needed a battery quickly, so I bought it elsewhere. This would not have been a big deal to me, items do get lost in the mail and any reputable retailer would understand and try to work with the customer within a reasonable timeframe. This is where DealExtreme failed.

As I had not received my item after a reasonable time period, I filled out the contact form on the DealExtreme website, asking for my money refunded (as I now had no need for the battery) and waited. After almost 2 weeks of no response from DealExtreme I figured I would open a dispute on PayPal to make sure my issue was documented. 5 days after my dispute was opened finally brought a response to my initial request for a refund in which I was asked to verify my address (correct), ensure the item was NOT at the post office (long ago checked) and whether I would like a replacement shipped or store credit. I kindly informed them I didn't need a replacement and I did not want store credit (due to the slow response to a simple request). I instead again requested a refund and informed them I had opened a PayPal dispute.

3 days later DealExtreme's response was as follows:

Pls close the dispute in that we can not refund the money to you in our system,ok?

At this point, I was fed up with getting nowhere and escalated my case with PayPal to a claim. At no point during my dispute and subsequent claim did DealExtreme even respond to PayPal so 2 weeks after I escalated to a claim PayPal refunded my money due to non-response.

Does DealExtreme extreme offer bargains, maybe so, but considering how long items take to arrive, if they do at all and the service they offer, I would rather spend my money elsewhere.

EDIT: There was definitely a mis-understanding. At no point during my PayPal dispute or my initial inquiry to DealExtreme was any of this "process" for lost packages explained. All I had to go on was that one line e-mail response to close my dispute with no explanation. If I had been provided this response from the beginning I might have reconsidered the PayPal dispute but simply asking to close a dispute with no reason provided is unacceptable.

"I have been shopping with DX for over 4 years and recommending them to friends and family but because of this experience I will never shop with them again. I ordered two smart phones as Christmas gifts through their site dxsoul.com because of the low prices, the promise of free expedited shipping, handling time between 2-4 days, and delivery estimate between 4-7 days. They sent one phone and claimed the other, much costlier one had shipped separately. They gave me a tracking number for each but the second one never worked and ticket service did not reply until 12/26/2014. I contacted their livechat service and they gave me a handful of tracking numbers for other orders going to other states and even other countries before giving up and saying they couldn't help me and I should just wait. Ticket service has fielded even less results. As far as I've been able to find out is that my item never left the warehouse. The fastest response I've received from them is when I registered a Paypal dispute and they asked me to cancel it before they can refund, basically asking me to give up the only bargaining chip that I have left with them to receive my purchase or to get my money back."

"For me it was excellent to buy on DealExtreme. I had an issue with a package that I didn't receive but they quickly and kindly resolved it and sent me the article missed again.

The things I bought are very cheap and functionable.

I'm already thinking in the next order I'm going to make with DealExtreme.

"Well, DX.com always does its work extremely well. It ships fast and customer service is always willing to help.
Everytime a package is lost I get a refund. The only con is the slow delivery time due to the snail mail, but hey! The send packages for free even for a 1USD item.
Some other sellers might have better prices but dx.com is a store I trust for sensitive and expensive gadgets.

"DealExtreme is an amazing reseller. I love finding cool and functional gadgets which are very cheap.

Almost everything I need or I search, I can find the product in DX cheaper. From the kitchen to the car via computer, cloths, accessories, etc.

And the best of all, it has free shipments, so I don't have to wait to buy many things together to get free delivery. Just the moment you find something you want, you can buy it.

The contact service is amazing and it enhances the experience. I only can chat online (phone lines in my country are still out of service but they will come again), but it is enough to solve all the problems which could occur.
