"ABSOLUTELY AWFUL, NASTY CUSTOMER SERVICE. If zero stars was an option, that would be the best to describe the service of this company. I will NEVER be ordering from this company again, EVER. I have never in my life spoke to a customer service representative who clearly had absolutely zero training or experience speaking to customers. I spoke to an "Adam Close". PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR ECS AND FIRE THIS MAN IMMEDIATELY. I ordered three items, one being bolts. ECS Tuning decided to split the bolts into a separate order the following day, showing myself being charged TWICE for the bolts. I was not notified that my order was being split whatsoever, so obviously I cancelled the second unnecessary order. They then removed the bolts from my original order and I complained about the awful service and their inability to get my order correct. Adam Close responded by telling me that the only mistake made was by myself when I cancelled the second unnecessary order and threatened to block me from future orders. DON'T WORRY I WON'T BE ORDERING EVER AGAIN."

"Recap of my order experience from ECS tuning:


1. Order#: (order number deleted for security) was placed and confirmed on 07/28/15 for parts ES#451423 and ES#453169. Total is $902.41

2. Received order confirmation on 07/28/15.

3. Received a voicemail from Rachel B. on 07/29/15. Rachel mentioned that parts were replaced by ES#2571618 and ES#1834223. These are the same parts but the cost went from $902.41 to $1083.68, an increase of $181.27 or 20.08%.

4. Confirmed the new increased cost on 07/29/15 and asked ECS Tuning to proceed based on the increased cost.

5. Received an email indicating delay receiving items. The updated arrival time was 07/31/2015.

6. Received a ‘regret to inform you’ email from Justin S. on 08/03/15 indicating that the $11.42 shipping cost in the confirmed order was not accurate because the ‘computer thought’ that USPS could ship 2 doors. Justin mentioned that he was ‘awaiting a shipping quote of which my manager will be discounting for the inconvenience. I will get back to you as soon as I am given the discounted quote.’

7. Received a follow up email from Justin on 08/06 asking for my response or the order will be cancelled within a few hours unless I responded within 6 hours. Nowhere in the last email was I requested to acknowledge the prior email. I was waiting for the discounted shipping quote. This new email mentioned that Justin ‘will ask my manager for discounted shipping’ which indicated that this was not yet done.

8. Replied to Justin on 08/06 requesting that the order remain in an open state pending the revised quote.

9. Received a reply from Justin on 08/06 indicating that we are waiting on a shipping quote from the logistics department.

10. Received a reply from Justin 08/10 with a revised ‘discounted’ rate of $252.45 (previously $11.42), bringing the new total to $1324.71. This represents a shipping cost of over 22 times the original order confirmation email amount. Compared to the original confirmed order email grand total of $902.41, the new $1324.71 amount is an increase of $422.30 or 46.8% increase. Today is 2 weeks after the original order confirmation.


Grievances:

1. Bait-and-switch tactics employed for original order item: At the time of the order, ECS Tuning already had knowledge of various part numbers associated as evidenced by availability of new part numbers ES#2571618 & ES#1834233 present in the system prior and not after the 07/28 order. The ordering process and inventory available for ordering on 07/28 were misleading and resulted in an increase of 20.08% before shipping costs.

2. Communications on the price increase mentioned in line item 3 above should have been communicated clearly in writing. Written communication was avoided by ECS Tuning in this instance, making proper audit trail more difficult.

3. Bait-and-switch tactics employed for shipping costs. The original order confirmation was not clear and concise in communication that shipping costs were estimates only. ECS Tuning accepted no responsibility and blamed ‘computer’ systems. The final amount increased over 22 times from $11.42 to $252.45.

4. Encountered hardship due to significant delays as my automobile sat waiting for necessary parts as price increases and negotiations were happening.

5. Honest and upfront communications regarding pricing early in the transaction process would have prevented hardship incurred.

"I recently ordered a bumper conversion kit and had installed it, only to find out I was missing hardware and there were other components needed. I contacted ESC and worked with Chris Van Hauter. He immediately researched the issue, found what was missing and helped me get everything I needed to ensure the conversion was complete. I couldn't be happier with the service I receive time after time with ECS and will continue to be a customer for a long long time."

"I recently purchased a RMT200 from ECS tuning. It arrived in a shipping box and the radio was in an unsealed factory box (my first mistake). I took inventory and noted that the radio removal keys where not there. In multiple online videos they are included. I contacted ECS and they stated that the keys where not included. I had a bad feeling about the open box and missing keys but had ordered from them before. (second mistake). I then installed the radio per spec and it would not power on. Using a Meter and taking my time I troubleshot the radio and all connections were correct.

Contacting ECS I was informed that all parts from ECS tuning must be installed by a dealer. I was amazed that a dealer had this policy. I returned the radio thinking that is would be warrantied as it was open box and would not turn on. Then the email chain started and the end result was Tom xxxx asked me to forge a receipt that the radio was installed or evaluated by a dealer to receive the warranty.

I could post the whole thread of emails but I really want to warn all fellow Enthusiasts that a company that would ask a consumer to forge a document should not be supported.

In the end I am out 529.00 but I am aware of the deficit in business morality by ECS.

"Horrible and illegal, do not order from these guys. customer service worst in the world. ordered a part, they sent the wrong part and charged my bank account. when called to resolve the issue they insisted that we send the part back on our dime and they would then do an in store credit upon which we could then re-order the part that they couldn't get right the first time. total BS. "

"The worst company I have ever seen. They sent me a bad item and ignore email if I want to send it back. They wrote to me that I can buy another item, but it was their fault! I had to send it back and pay a shipping again. I will to ask the VISA full refund. I do not recommend to anyone!"

"To be quite honest with you, the product I received was not what was pictured on your website. I bought the rubberized monster mats with a TDI logo, the ones on your site have the round mat holders where you sent me mats with an oval mat holder. They do not fit properly in the vehicle and I honestly am not happy with the idea of buying extra accessories to make right whats falsely advertised."

"Like any owner of an older audi, you must find a good parts supplier... look no further than ECStuning. They have helped me out many times with my audi woes... awesome parts selection, fast friendly service and great shipping times from store to door. The only thing that drags me down is the duty I end up paying on top of shipping. Eg... I recently purchsed a FPR (fuel pressure regulator) $49.99 + $27.62 shipping (works out to about $90 CAD)... then an extra $40 for customs and duty... $49.99 turned into $130.00 very quickly.
I am not complaining at all, just wanted any Canadian customers to understand. This can be avoided by packaging multiple items in one order. So far i have ordered from ECS tuning 3 times (total purchases of about $1000) and will continue to do so for all of my poor Audi's needs. I have never had any missing hardware nor have i experienced ANY issues with fitment so I have not had to attempt any returns.
Thank you to everyone at ECS for keeping my baby purring.

"Wow! I could not be happier. I ordered a set of throttle body y-boot clamps for my 2000 Audi S4. Only 1 of the 4 clamps fit. The other 3 were too loose. I emailed ECS Tuning about it, and they refunded my entire purchase with no questions asked, and they said that there's no need to return them. I am very pleased."

"excellent original parts cheaper than the dealer itself. had an excellent luck with these guys. can't beat their services. the shipping was a little too much but they shipped via priority mail. possibly can compete better if they offered an economy and cheaper shipping method for those who want the part but not urgently.
