Ordering Havoc

"I ordered the wrong book and wasn't able to cancel it less then 30 minutes later, instead they said I have to return it once it comes in.... this is ridiculous. I appreciate trying to promptly ship books out, but inconveniencing college students isn't a way to increase your business. "

Bad Communication

"I ordered a book on eCampus, but accidentally hit "submit" before I had entered the CVV on my credit card. I thought the page would not process, but site said my product had been ordered. Several minutes later, I received an email from eCampus saying that I needed to complete my checkout. I went onto the site and found that the product I wanted to buy had its price raised significantly (from like $39 to $110). I knew I could get the book for less than $110, so I went to another seller and rented it from there. Several days later, eCampus informed me that the order had in fact been processed (despite that email). Fortunately, eCampus ended up not being able to fulfill their order due to supplier issues and cancelled my order. If they had not, I would have rented two copies of the same book because of their poor communication."

This email can often end up received due to customers having multiple windows open while they price check, so that the system doesn't immediately recognize that you have checked out when you close another window from our site. Reliable Book Rentals

"I rented books from eCampus throughout undergrad and have never been disappointed. The books are always in good shape with minimal writing and highlighting in them. My most recent rental was for a law school textbook that I couldn't find anywhere but the bookstore, and they weren't offering rentals, only sales. Not only did eCampus offer to rent it for less than half of the bookstore purchase price, the book was BRAND NEW IN SHRINK WRAP when I received it!! I'll definitely be using eCampus for more rentals!"

"I have used this site twice, both times for access cards to my school's preferred math program, ALEKS. I was so concerned about the first one because it was listed as a "used" access card, but it was a lot cheaper than the "new" option on the site and it was so much cheaper than what my school wanted. I thought, surely they can't make me pay for an access card that doesn't even work? Of course when it got here (in a timely manner) I put it in and it definitely worked; I have no idea why they listed it as used. I just had to use them again for another access code, which again was quite a bit cheaper than what my school wanted for it. My school adds tax and ludicrously expensive shipping, and eCampus will give you free standard shipping on orders over $35 so I saved on tax, shipping, and overall price.

eCampus has saved me so much money! eCampus also has a lot of coupon codes that can be applied to any order to save even more money, and they are all well-known and easily accessible through Google. Plus, they have an awards program and it doesn't take ages to build up to a good prize like some other awards programs do. Of course, the prizes are more coupons, but you can get quite a few points per purchase. In just those two purchases, I earned 2 $10 gift cards, valid on orders of $60 or more (I used one on the second order). I chose to use my points for this particular gift card, but there are more options, and it goes up to $20.

I've never had to deal with their customer service or with having to return anything to them, which of course is really the most important part of a business. It's important to know how their customer service is and how well they handle it if something goes wrong. Unfortunately, I couldn't comment on that. I admittedly am slightly reluctant to order from the site sometimes in worry of my order being cancelled because they ran out of stock and didn't update it on their site, so I try to look for my books on Amazon first. But if eCampus has your books for the cheapest price, you can really get a good bargain here compared to other sites and especially college bookstores.

If you place an order from eCampus directly (I cannot speak for their marketplace, of course it's a marketplace so it's risky), be sure to order your books well before you actually need them. If you want to be safe, if you place an order and eCampus doesn't ship it within maybe 2 business days, then perhaps contact customer service and ask about the status of your order. If you're then informed that the order was cancelled due to an error on their part, then you should hopefully have plenty of time to order from somewhere else. I don't know how good they are with communicating order cancellations to you time-wise, but they shipped both of my orders within 1 business day, so if they aren't shipping it quickly then it wouldn't hurt to check so that in the worst-case scenario, you aren't paying expedited shipping elsewhere if they informed you late that your order has been cancelled. If you order from here, don't forget to Google the coupon codes you can use at checkout!
