"I ordered from them at the recommendation of a friend who orders from them for her business. I ordered because of the new years sale prices. My order was not shipped within 2 business days (more like 3) so they expedited my order without me even asking. When it got here I was very pleased at the quality. Soft minky and no stains or wrinkles.
I'm glad I didn't have the same problems as everyone else but my friend has ordered from them hundreds of times and never had anything go wrong and I doubt I will either. Will order from them again.

"I ordered some yarn on 12/7/14. I placed 2 separate orders. They sent me an email saying due to overwhelming requests on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, my shipment had been delayed, but they would "expedite" it at no additional charge. One order arrived on 12/17, the other on 12/19 (so 10 days is "expedited" shipping?). There were numerous items that were "back ordered." Most of those were delivered on 12/22/14. However, they sent me an email for one item (as mentioned by another customer on this site) and said I needed to choose something else. I ended up buying it from knitting-warehouse.com. I am still waiting on 2 yarns that they said would be in stock on 1/9. The items showed "in stock" at their website as of 1/12, so I called them. They said they didn't know if the items were really in stock or if it was an internet inventory error. Okay, so the website previously showed "0" available and now it shows "42" but they don't know if that's correct? Who is stocking over there? How can you not know if you have something or if it is an error? How could you erroneously count 42 items and enter that into the computer? Supposedly they will let me know in 24 hours if it is really in stock or not. How ridiculous! How can you operate a shipping company if you cannot accurately control your inventory?!!"

"Absolutely the worst online shopping experience ever! The site allowed me to place my order and then a few weeks later they emailed me informing me that the no longer had the product in stock. They asked me to respond, so I did. I actually reached out to them over half a dozen times informing them about how I wanted to handle this. Eventually they responded to me and said that because I "never responded to them" that they canceled my order. So not only did they fail to fill my order but then they lied about me responding to them. Some of the worst customer service ever! "

"Save your $$ and your time! Two years in a row this company has taken much longer than they promised. Upon the day it was to arrive, I received an email stating that one of the fabrics was out of stock. Why did it take over a week to figure this out? Obviously, Christmas blankets won't be ready for the family or the homeless shelter. Lesson learned! Never, ever again!!!"

"I ordered two different types of yarn over a week ago. A week later they tell me they are out of one type and want me to "substitute" another kind. Well, I can't finish the project with another type of yarn, can I? A week after ordering? That is just bad business so I am cancelling my full order. If there is a problem I will contact my credit card company, the attorney general and I will post the problem here."

"Same as everyone else, Customer service is horrible, knows next to nothing, dodgy when it comes to answering your questions.

I live in hawaii. Ground to here takes a month because it goes by boat. Im cool with that if it actualy is yardage of fur. I wanted one swatch. I was willing to pay the extra to have it expidited or even sent in a usps small flat rate box which would be extremely roomy and cost more than simply shipping it priority or first class, but i understand the variable costs so lets just make this easy for them.

THEY KNOW NOTHING.

After clearly stating USPS Flat rate Priority box. They answer with "we offer flat rate of 4.66 + .79c /lb"
(or w/e the numbers were)

Did you not bother to read what I wrote?

Closed the window, refuse to talk with idiots. Was going to order some fabric to get shipped to NY while I am visiting for 3 weeks, but I am far from hopeful Id get it in time with all the other reviews on here.

Going to find another site/store.

"I wanted to make a change to my order after I placed it (on a Wednesday). I immediately emails customer service. 3 business DAYS later, I received a form letter saying it was too late to change my order - well maybe if you had responded in a more timely manner that would not have been the case. Then I asked them to help me with a first-time order coupon that I had forgotten to use, and again received the exact same form letter, but this time it took 4 DAYS (not including the holidays and the weekend). Their customer service is terrible!"

"Absolutely terrible at keeping their shipment dates and LIE when they promise to get your order to you.

I placed a huge order and expected to have it on a certain date. When that date came around and my order hadn't arrived, I called to find out that one item (thread) was back ordered so Fabric.com KEPT MY ENTIRE ORDER on hold. When I called and found this out, I demanded my order (minus the back ordered thread) be shipped and was promised two day shipping (it would be in my hands in two days). On the day I was supposed to have my order, I received a "shipped" notice, my order was shipped on the day I was supposed to have it. My project was pushed back a week and a half (10 days) due to holding back my ENTIRE order and FALSE PROMISES of 2-3 day shipping.

I will never trust Fabric.com again for any of my fabric orders. I am sure the products are great, but I can get the same products elsewhere where the entire order won't be held back until I somehow figure out to call and tell them to send it.

"I made my cousin a baby blanket for her son and she lost it and asked me to make another one. The next morning she found it so I tried to cancel my order.

Since I've heard so many bad reviews, I had the feeling that they would tell me they already shipped it. I wrote to them at 8AM. They responded just before closing time at 6pm and said that it had already shipped. It was shipped at 3pm. Now normally I would understand. BUT they usually take forever to ship my orders, why did they ship so quickly? ugh. You lost a customer. Anyone know any good fabric websites out there?

"I ordered some faux fur from Fabric.com because it was on sale and the cheapest of all the other sites I looked at. I saw some reviews on the fur I checked out and decided to go for it.

The fur is great, but my only real issue was that they did a poor job of cutting it. You DO NOT cut faux fur with scissors. It's MUCH better to cut with a box cutter or something of the sort and cut wrong side up or else you end up with what I received: a mess.

Since the fabric was cut with scissors, it cut straight through the fur and I ended up with a mess and fur flying everywhere when I took it out of the box. I had to sit down and pull all the excess fur from the ends of it.

Aside from that, I'll have to say another upsetting thing was when I decided I wanted to change my order immediately after I had made my purchase. I was told to send an e-mail with my requested changes and that the changes could not be made once it was being prepared to ship. Bare in mind that I sent them the request immediately after making the transaction. I heard nothing back from them for the next few days up until the day before it shipped and they told me it was too late. No, it wasn't too late. You just wanted to keep my money.

Overall, my experience with Fabric.com was nothing special. My only reasoning for ordering from them again in the future is to get the rest of my fur that I'll need. After that, I'm staying away from them.
