"Ater doing lots of "homework", I decided to order a Canon SX1is from FotoConnection. I called and talked with a very friendly and product savy salesperson named Greg. I politely mentioned to him that I DID NOT want to buy a "grey market" product. He assured me that I would be buying a NEW, USA model Canon camera, with all listed components in a Factory box. Well, my camera showed up EXACTLY liked he said it would! (it even made it earlier than expected, in a well padded exterior box). Everthing went like clock work, all the advertised "pieces" were in the box wrapped up and sealed etc. Bottom line, I would have no reason NOT to order from these guys again. FYI, I did not get any "after purchase" calls. I did get emails with purchase info and shipping tracking info. Easy purchase and two thumbs up!!

"Almost ripped off! I'm suprised to see that this company actively participates in Reseller Ratings and monitors feedback from customers. Why don't they change their ways? My daughter ordered a Canon digital camera and got an email that we needed to call the company regarding the order. This has never happened before when ordering online. I called and was shocked to hear that we needed to pay $65 more for a battery! They said the camera didn't come with a battery. We had purchased the same camera a year ago from a reputable company and it came with a battery. I called them back and he changed his story...now it does come with a battery but only holds a charge for 30 minutes. However, I could upgrade to a battery that lasts 4 hours for 10.00 more. So I went ahead and ordered it but still felt like something was wrong. I found MANY complaints about the company on this site and called back immediatly to cancel. I spoke to the same person and he didn't argue with me and just accepted the cancellation. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it goes through. If not, I will look into having them investigated."
"Ordering was easy with FotoConnection. The order was processed and an e-mail acknowledgement was sent quickly and the item I selected was shipped the next business day and another e-mail was received with the confirmation. The item I ordered was what was received and has worked without any problems since day one.

"FotoConnection did a good job getting me my Canon Vixia HF200. Everything was in the box and appeared to be new. There was no warranty card inside, but I was able to register it online fine at the Canon website. I got an email and call back after the order. The salesman was friendly and didn't pressure me into anything. He only made suggestions and wasn't pushy. The camera works fine, the price was great, and it came in a fair amount of time. The only complaint was that it took 6 days to ship when they advertise 48 hours. Oh well, no biggie. I am patient when it comes to saving money!"

"-Prices are great! Bought a brand new model 46" LCD for $300 less than anywhere else.
-I'm not sure ANYTHINGis really "in stock." They had to ship from warehouses they don't operate. For instance, FotoConnection is "in" Brooklyn, but my item shipped from Almo Electronics warehouse in Bensalem, PA.
-Eddie, the sales guy on the phone, was outstanding, very helpful over the phone. He did upsell me a little on a warranty, threw in a free $80 HDMI cable (which works perfectly), and the total price still came in lower than Amazon and Newegg for the TV itself. He said "upgraded" shipping was part of the upsell cost (to avoid UPS), but I think they always have to use freight shipping for TVs and such.
-The shipping department acted like fast-paced, impatient New Yorkers (I'm southern) when I called twice to get a tracking number for the TV. They were helpful and supplied the information I needed, but were a bit curt (perhaps it was because I called after their posted hours).
-The TV took 12 days to get to me. Their site said "ships in 24-48 hours," but it actually didn't ship for 7 days. It was shipped by Yellow and Roadway, a freight carrier with humongous trailer trucks (the driver had a time turning around in my neighborhood).
-The free HDMI cable came in like 4 days after I ordered it, so no issue there.
-After placing my order, I was REALLY wary of FotoConnection. My buddy told me about these scam shops/online retailers from Brooklyn that are all owned by the same guy (like 40 shops), and I did some research which indicated that FotoConnection was likely one of those stores. My order and experience ended up fine, though, because I got all of the items I purchased inside of two weeks and they all work as expected.
-All in all, I would rate them 8/10. The main hit coming from the shipping lag. Very nice customer service!"
