"Terrible! Bait and switch! Stay away! They will lure you in with a low price and then demand you buy expensive upgrades and other items you don't need! You will have to "confirm" you order by phone before it ships. That's when the "...what are you going to use ths for? You really need to have this instead..." GO SOME PLACE ELSE!"

"On 11/23/2008 i was browsing on their website and found a camera that i wanted to buy. That specific webpage clearly stated "order before 3pm 11/24/2008 and choose 2 day shipping to receive order before thanksgiving". The next day 11/24/2008 i receive a call saying they wanted to confirm my CC information. Then the upselling started, telling me that the battery that came with only lasted 20 minutes, etc... and basically talked me into upgrading the battery (which was not necessary i later found out). Then they wanted me to get the largest memory card possible, etc...
After spending the money to upgrade all of those things, i was told that the items would be shipped out that day and i would definitely get them before thanksgiving. The next day 11/25/2008 i get a call in the morning telling me that the camera i wanted was out of stock and that it had to be drop shipped. The charge to drop ship would be $40 on top of the $20 overnight charge. The sales person promised me that i would receive the order before thanksgiving on the 26th and that it would ship out right away! I figured as long as i got the items. $60 wasn't TOO big of deal.

7pm, 11/26/2008 there's no fedex delivery. I call customer service and ask for a tracking #. They said that they dont have it and that they will send it to me as soon as they get it. I asked them about what they promised me and said there's nothing they can do. They said they will get the tracking number and will send it to me after they get it before the end of the day. 8:30 rolls around and no tracking #. I called the customer service number back and asked for my salesperson. The guy said "he's gone, i'm his manager, what can i do for you?". I tried to ask him the status of my order and he says "i dont have access to a computer, call back tomorrow". I told him that i was promised the order today and that tomorrow was thanksgiving. He said "we'll be open! call back tomorrow" and hung up.

I try calling back the next day only to get their automated system saying that they were closed. Same thing i got on the day after thanksgiving.

I end up receiving the camera on Friday 11/28/2008. I'm thinking if i get the accessories today, then i just wont make a fuss. It's only one business day late.

Over the weekend i end up getting a tracking # that cannot be tracked via the UPS website. it says that there's no information on that package.

I call up customer service 12/01/2008 and the guy says "how can i help you?" i explained to him the situation and how i paid $60 for shipping after TWICE promising the item to arrive before thanksgiving. He asks "did you get an e-mail confirming your tracking information?" i said "yes" he then started to yell "So what's your problem? we sent you your items didn't we?" I asked him to stop yelling and then he goes back to a normal voice saying "i'm not yelling". He then says "what's the problem?" I told him the problem was that i was promised twice that i would receive the item before thanksgiving and the website said if i ordered before a certain date, i was guaranteed the item. I not only paid upgraded shipping, but it's been a WEEK later and i still have not received all of my items. Items that they should've had in stock that were not drop shipped! He then goes on to say in a rude voice "credit card processing takes time you know?" Yea right~! 4 days? My card was already charged. I know that it isn't still processing.
He then promises that i will get the items today. and apologizes for the delay. I asked him if he was going to apologize for the way he talked to me? he says "what did i say?"

I did not notice all of the negetive reviews on this company until i searched for them. There are HUNDREDS of bad reviews and they get so many complaints a week it's not even funny. I definitely recommend to stay away from this company. When my items get here, i feel as if they should offer me my shipping charge back. I was promised that i would receive the items by a certain date if i paid $60 only to receive them almost a week later than the promised date. Actually, i haven't received them yet. I only have half of the order.

"The camera and free stuff that came with it (mini-tripod, case, cleaning kit) arrived in 3 business days. The price was the best I found on the internet. A promised free screen protector was not in the original order. Customer service was polite and responsive - the screen protector is on its way. I'd definitey do business here again!"

"Ordered a Nikon D300, Great price. The rep then wanted to add on "this that and the other thing". I added about $200 to the order and was sent the confirmation. Shortly there after I call to check the verbiage in the confirmation email at which time I was told there would be an additional charge for shipping insurance of $45. When I refused to accept this charge I was told that actually it should be $54 and I was saving more money. I told the clerk to cancel the order. I then received 2 more payment statements in a effort, assumed, that I would change my mind. My question is - Is this a business or are the customers getting the business?
At the very least this buying experience is the worst this retired old man has had. Good luck to those of you who would do business here.

"Was very skeptical however, I went with them as my 4th option.

Do not shot at:
1wayphoto.com
ontimedigital.com
shopdigitaldirect.com

These guys are scammers with the bait and switch crap. First they will tell you that the product is in stock and when you refuse to get the things they are adding to your order they will all of a sudden either cancel your order or say the item is out of stock. 4th times a chance because I called up fotoconnection.com thinking i was going to get the same scamming practices, you have to give these guys credit though when they offer other products to you because they are a business of selling. Well anyway first I delt with James and then had problems with my card and I had second thoughts with my original purchase and called them up and changed my order to the cheaper option and they said no problem.

I see that my order is on its way to me via ups and I cant wait. A word of advice to all, remember that these people are in the business of selling. The more they sell the more money they earn, well that goes for you as well with your job, the better you are the more money you get. Am I right? So with that said if they offer you more things that you think you might need, then take it, if not, all you have to say is No Thank you!

12/5/2008 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rf-n7Htbm00 This is proof of what I received. This company is great to deal with. You really just know how to deal with people.

"This is the worst online purchasing experience I've had. A few hours after I placed the order, I got a phone call from the company to "verify" my information. The caller then moved on to a hard sales pitch, saying the included battery was insufficient and I would need a new one. He offered to add it on for $50, and when I said no, offered it for $40 and $35. His tone was pandering and patronizing. When I asked to cancel the order, he refused, until I told him I would dispute the credit card charge. There are lots of other companies out there...the trouble this one will give you isn't worth saving a couple bucks."

"Great product! I was skeptical at first due to some bad reviews on other sites. However, they were unfounded. The only complaint I have is there upsaleing, but hey you can't sale it if you don't offer it right? All you have to say is no thanks. James made up for it by making my order overnighted and he gave me 2 free UV filters and upgraded my shipping for next day delivery for free. WOW. Not only that, the order was placed at 6:52 p.m. in NY and arrived to me, at my doorsetp the very next day, in Oklahoma at 9:30 a.m.... Now that is service and it did make me smile. The Nikon D80 was just as advertised and then some... It takes awsome pictures and was all new in the factory packaging. I will order form these guys again, that I guarantee. I know a lot of people think if it is to good to be true then it probably is, well their prices are "to good to be true" but are just that "Good and True value"

Thanks

"your nearest competitor took 6 days to answer my email. Fotoconnection answered same day. when i telephoned with a technical question to your competitor i was on hold about 9 minutes. when i called fotoconnection with the same question i was on the phone with a human in less than a minute and within a minute after i was on the phone with the proper technical person. when i purchased my camera from fotoconnection i was budgeted to buy the 10mp model. the money savings from fotoconnection permitted me to move up to the 14Mp model camera. Finally, when UPS wasn't catching me at home to deliver my camera your rep intervened for me and aranged for UPS to pull the package and hold it for me at their counter.

You may get the impression from this that i am happy with fotoconnection. if you do then congratulation cause you are correct!

whomever is running that place should head over to a few of those banks in NY and straighten them out!

I will be returning to fotoconnection for future purchases and i want to know what else they also sell. How about a Ford Ranger??

thanks very much for the great service.

"SCAM SCAM SCAM. I ordered a Kodak EasyShare Z812 camera on 11/11/08. The salesperson stated they had it in stock and ready to ship. YEAH RIGHT, I signed their order form agreement (more BS) and they immediately deducted the money from my account. Today is 11/25/08 and after a dozen phone calls and emails still no camera. The standard answer from customer service is “it will ship tomorrow”. This camera still shows in stock on their web site! Also as I check their site I see this camera has gone from $139.00 to $245.00 as black Friday approaches. On a side note, luckily this company resides in New York State and my best friend works for the New York State Attorney Generals office as a prosecutor and by this time next week if I have no camera they are looking into it as possible fraud."

"Purchased a Canon Powershot SD1100 which was to be Canon model #2512B001. There site stated it was a Brand New factory Sealed camera with a 1 year USA Warranty. I even asked several times when I was required to call them back for their sales pitch if it was a new retail model and not gray market. The sales person stated it was new and that they did not sell gray market. He was rather rude when I insisted I did not want anything but the camera. I received the camera today, 11/24/08 and noticed that the Model# on the box was 2512B001AA and it stated it did not contain an SD card. I did some research with Canon USA and was advised that if the camera did not have the Canon warranty card in the box it was a Reconditioned camera. I checked the contents of the box and the SD card was not there along with no warranty card. Fotoconnection.com's site clearly spells out what the box contains which included an SD card. I called them and they insist it is new and wanted to give me a 3 year warranty if I kept the camera. When asked why there was no warranty card or SD card their response was "look how much you paid for it". This company is commiting fraud by stating this is a New Camera and displaying the Retail Model number rather than the Reconditioned one. Also stating what is in the box when they know the Reconditioned model does not have a SD card or a Canon USA warranty. This is not misleading it is criminal. No since in calling before you purchase, they will just lie to you. I am currently filing a claim with my credit card since the e-mail never arrived with the ARS tag or the RMA number as they also promised. By the way $158.95 is not such a great price either even for a Reconditioned Camera!!

"Avoid - they're playing the " you have to call us to complete your order / now you need to buy a bulb" game for video projectors... even though the manufacturer clearly states the product comes complete with bulb."

"It may be possible to actually get a good deal from this company, however they require execution of a "Credit Verification Agreement" that nobody in their right mind should sign. The thing looks to be a written acknowledgment of the order (which I have no objection to) until you read the fine print. It leaves the buyer with little or no recourse should problems arise and appears to be a finance agreement under which the buyer consents to "any modification or renewal of the credit agreement" without notice. I believe this would authorize additional charges to your credit card without your consent. Keep in mind, this was a regular Mastercard purchase, I was not applying for credit from these people.

I ordered a Canon XSi body on line on Nov 13. When I finally heard back from them, after several days of calls and emails trying to confirm the order, the salesman took me through the usual bait and switch. Turns out the advertised price of $445 was (he finally admitted) for a Grey market camera with an "in house warranty" and "starter" battery. After some discussion the cost for the US model with standard accessories came to an extra $50. As this was still a very good price, I agreed and was told that once I had completed the Agreement on line, the camera would ship. I can't say that these guys are fraudulent, however after reading the Agreement, I decided the deal wasn't worth the risk and canceled my order. I've gotten a couple of broken English emails from them promising things that directly contradict the terms in their agreement, which I have ignored except to reply that the order is still canceled. I have since purchased the camera from another dealer for virtually the same price, without the hassles.

"I wish I had read a few of the reviews here before calling FotoConnection. As reflected in the first review, I placed an order for a Nikon camera, got the usual upselling pitches and was told on at least three occasions that the order had been shipped, though I could not get a tracking number because it was with UPS or locked in a supervisor's office. 9 days after the order was placed, I was told that Nikon had held up my shipment because FotoConnection had sold the camera for too much below MSRP. After re-calculating the price, I was told that I could have the camera for $495 more than the original quote. I cancelled the order and got the camera from one of the better known names in NYC. While the camera body itself was $50 more, I wound up saving that much and more on the memory card, a Lexar vs the no-name card FotoConnection wanted to sell me. Do not deal with this company if you value your sanity and precious time."

"I ordered a nikon d60. from the information about the product and the accesories, I ordered it. it was 649.47 was sent a email to contact customer service. was told that for that price the lenses were generic instead of the nikors that were pictured. when I asked him about this, he stated that only the lens adaptors were included? sorry, a lens is only sold as complete. then I was told that it had a 15 minute battery. I also questioned that and was told that I had ordered the ebay seller special.what? I'm not on ebay.was told the retail package with original equipment was 200.00 more but since I was complaining, he could adjust the order amount and only charge me an additional 100.00 dollars. free shipping by ups. I paid it without checking with the bbb 1st. why? heck, maybe it was the percieved deal. heck, I own my own watch site and should have known better. I used visa on this. ups arrived today and required a signature. I looked at the box 1st. it was torn open and the contents visible. inside was the camera boxes with no padding for shipping. the boxes were visibly damaged. I refused shipment. I call there customer support line. after 3 transfers I end up with the same guy who sold me the camera.lol
I explain why I refused the package. he said it would take 10 to 14 business days to process and then another camera would be shipped. ay that point I asked him to just issue a refund after the came back. it gets pretty candid at this point. my cs operator started to yell 4 letter words.lets just say that I was told I was rude, no refund.I had to take the camera. I then explained that I used a credit card and would be happy to have my bank take care of this issue. now this guy is really yelling. I'm in tn, and hes threatening to come down here and kick my .... huh, right. since I didn't sign for this, in the end my credit card company will give me my money back. without my signature from ups this company can yell all day long, it doesn't matter. they can't charge a restock fee either. my advice is don't buy from them. there are hundreds of complaints at the bbb for the very same thing I'm going through. I read some of these posts. if you paid with a credit card issued from a bank, then you are covered. just file the paperwork with your bank and bypass this company all together. no sense in getting the blood pressure up dealing with these people. in conclusion, heres there phone number.apparently since I hung up on the cs rep, he felt the need to call me back and say some more nasty things.1-***-***-****. if you are a site owner, then run their ip address and expand it to there server then to their isp. you can get your funds back. just do some simple checks folks. thanks for reading.

a revision here.after posting this, I was contacted by fotoconnection. this time the cs was polite. this contact was done after they recieved the camera back. a new one with warranty was sent next day. while that addressed the issues, no memory card arrived with the camera as was advertized in the ad. it would be nice to have the complete package. at least what arrived this time was undamaged. surprising, considering how it was package. all contents were loose in the box with zero padding. before I did anything, I tested the camera and lenses. all works well. I'll retract some of what I said, but still, the nasty language, trying to decieve needs to stay here. can't get around the 1st contact with this company. I think if they were up front in there advertising and didn't lie about batteries and the lenses, they could do much better.
