"Over-all pretty good; but speed of shipping was relatively slow. Pricing was very competitive."
"Awesome.
I decided to buy a iBook G4 as a spare Mac laptop and the item looks brand new (even though it's not). The unit was in pristine condition and I am VERY HAPPY with my purchase. On top of that, I got a $50 rebate for future purchase(s). I will definitely buy again from GainSaver. Kudos!"
"The process of choosing the computer and adding hardware was quite easy...even for someone like me, who is not very computer savy.
I appreciated the computer jargon explanations on each page as well. It helped me to choose what memory, speed, etc..I needed.
Thank you. I am looking forward to receiving my computer"
"The GainSaver site's order configurator made it easy to choose the options I wanted on my MacBook. It's cool to be able to customize a used computer as easily as when buying a new one."
"Good products. LOW prices! Good advice on upgrades and amenities."
"words of advice: DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. Read the reviews, we can't ALL be lying. It's all fine and dandy until you need to make a return."Steve Harper" and another customer service representative both claim to own the company. They refuse to let you speak to someone else in the company and today, the lady who claims to be the other "owner" hung up in my face. First of all, they don't know how to correctly configure Macs and I assure you that you will have problems out of them, maybe not immediately, but certainly if you try to return something. I purchased a Mac with a two year warranty, the guy at the Mac store said that it was very poorly configured, so I sent it back to gainsaver to get another one. This was in November, gainsaver has had my computer for 8 weeks now and have yet to give me a refund or a new computer. Everytime I call, I get the run around, and that's IF they don't hang up on me. The emails are misleading, one minute they say "all apple parts will receive refunds to your credit card," then they say "all returns are for store credit only." I'm actually surprised this company is still in business. If suggest everyone file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau against them if they've mistreated you, I did. Enough complaints should get the point across. They are located in Long Beach, CA.

"Good prices, Fast shippig, Items are desent.
BEWARE! THE Problem is in repairs. If the item you received has a bad component, they want whole thing back. Say a bad memory chip or a hard drive, you have to send whole thing back, It's ok for some but I'd like an option of replacing just the bad part. Phone holds are VEEEEEERY long!!! They do answer though."
"very easy to order, and love the fact that I saved so much money. on a mac book pro. anxiously waiting to get my product. so far everything is great."
"I ordered an ibook from gainsaver. It arrived a day before they said it would, which was good. I was not happy at all with the condition that the ibook was in, the case was scratched and the screen was as well, also, the battery life was a joke. These issues were not described by the customer service representative that I had to place the order with when their website went down during my order. Maybe the extended warranty will prove to have been a good choice. "
"I love GainSaver's prices and offerings. Telephone customer service is friendly and efficient. Online ordering was glitchy, however. I attempted to place my order online several times and was unsuccessful each time--When I tried to log in or create a new user profile it sent me to a "this search failed" page."
"I have enjoyed the quick responses from the sale team and customer support. They have been easy to reach (short or no wait time) and have clearly answered my questions. E-mail feedback is prompt as well. The websight is easy to navigate. Only two suggestions 1) include more information on laptops such as the software, installed programs, ram, and tools such as dvd players and cameras. 2) When answering the phone if the representative would say their name it would make the call feel more personal, professional, and friendly. Thank you!"
"I purchased a Logic board for an Intel iMac 17" computer. Model number 661-4290. Upon receiving the item on Dec 24th I realized that the item sent to me was the wrong item. (This is the second time I have received the wrong item from Gainsaver). The item sent to me was for an older 15" iMac Power PC. The packaging the Logic board came in had the correct model number written on it but was not the correct one inside. With it being the holidays I figured there was just a mixup. So on Monday Dec 27th I called the 1-800 number form the website to discuss the issue. I spoke with Steve Harper and was told simply that I need to go to the website and fill out the RMA and return the item for a refund. I didn't want a refund I wanted the item I order. Steve said that they do not guarantee there parts in stock and they will not send me the item without me placing another order. So I did as instructed. Now they are expecting me to have to pay to ship back the wrong item they sent me? I called again on Dec 28th and spoke with a Jennifer. I explained the situation to her and asked if I would be refunded my shipping cost. She stated no it's in the terms and conditions then proceeded to put me on hold. While on hold I checked the terms and conditions and there is nothing in there on being sent the wrong item. I then spoke with Steve Harper who reiterated the same thing then told me he would refund my money but not shipping. And that I should shop somewhere else. I told him that I would be filling a complaint with the BBB and he said "Go ahead". So he really doesn't care about complaints. Here is there information from the BBB website. http://www.la.bbb.org/Business-Report/Gain-Saver-100035353
In 3 years they have had 268 complaints. That ridiculous.
So after filing my complaint with the BBB I decided to file my complaint here and with the California Attorney Generals Office.
Here are the terms and conditions for shipping and returns from the Gainsaver website. Please show me the condition of receiving the wrong item? Any company who has to hide behind there vaguely written terms and conditions is a Fraud and shouldn't be doing business.

"My 9 year old son Jack, a self proclaimed "computer geek" introduced me to GainSaver. I try to encourage his passion but at the same time I have to be attentive to the cost involved. Gainsaver has great products at great prices; in the past year we have made 3 purchases and have been extremely satisfied. Thank you GainSaver for making it possible to keep a young man and his dad happy."
"I was really disapointed when the refurbished Mac I bought suddenly stopped charging after two weeks. I was able to get another power adaptor, but that did not solve the problem. It was a HUGE inconvenience to have to send back the laptop, pay for the shipping, and have no computer for weeks. After all that, I wish I'd gone new instead of buying refurbished from Gain Saver.
Customer service has been decent. Kind of hit or miss. Half the time the people on the phone are very helpful, but sometimes they are not. One particular call was something I'd consider rude. I explaned my question, and the girl on the phone simply said she did not know the answer. The was negative and made no effort to help me find an answer. She didn't even ask me my name or e-mail to investigate my situation. Then, after being on hold for around seven minutes before finally getting my call answered, we were disconnected. I had no answer and had wasted my time.
Shipping was fine. The laptop itself seems to be in okay shape. Plenty of scratches on the front but it runs so that's good. After my earlier experience though, I am worried that it will suddenly stop working again. Hope not."
"Very, very complicated & convoluted with more than 5 calls to customer service rep, Steve Harper.
I have not yet received my shipment so we will see how things turn out.
I remain hopeful but buying this computer was one of the MOST frustrating & time consuming on-line purchases I have ever made & I do business daily on line.
No one was impolite but the system itself was just too trying to think of wanting to do further business with gainSaver.
I just hope now everything turns out alright and there is a happy end to a most frustrating experience.
Nuradin Durkee"
