"I was expecting a check for $150 rebate after spending over $1300 on a laptop. I waited a month and called back since I did not receive a check nor an email about the refund. When I spoke to the customer service rep she answered the phone by saying "hello". I said is this Gainsaver and she said yes how can I help you? I gave her my email address and she said that I have a $150 store credit. I told her that I thought it was supposed to be a rebate check. I was not happy but I called back later that day and spoke to another customer service rep about using my store credit to buy the Mac Box software. I haven't received the software yet but in order to get the initial rebate I purchased a MacBook Pro Laptop that died the day after I received it and then it took 2 weeks for me to get the laptop fixed. I bought the laptop to use for presentations displayed on the screen from a projector. I had to buy an adapter to hook up to the monitor and it still does not show the images on the screen."

"So far so good. Gainsaver had the product I was looking for at a very reasonable price. They also processed and provided a UPS tracking number the same day. Generally when shopping online it takes days to get tracking information, even days just for the order to be processed at the company. All I can say Gainsavers has gone above in beyond my customer service goals. I am anxiously waiting for my delivery! Hopefully the product is as good as the description stated."

"I purchased a pre-owned fan for my 3.5 year-old Apple Macbook. This machine is critical to my business of Web Application Development and is my primary development machine. I found GainSaver during my search for a replacement fan and was happily surprised to find the price of the fan through GainSaver to be 25% of that which I found elsewhere. I ordered the part using 3 business day select and received the fan 3 days following.
I installed the fan, which was an exact replacement, and started the machine. I was at first alarmed as I could not hear the fan running whatsoever. I installed a fan utility so that I could verify the fan RPM and core temperature. I was so pleased to find that the fan was running at ~1800-2000 RPM without any audible sound. I tested the fan up to over 8000 RPM where it was barely audible. The core temperature of my machine is running at optimal levels.

I am extremely pleased with GainSaver's fulfillment process and quality of the part I received.

"I haven't gotten my MacBook in the mail yet but so far, SO GOOD! The process for buying it was easy and fast. The definitions helped alot during my decision process. Everything was very hands on! "Computer received without airport card installed. Paid $40 freight to have exchange. Received the next computer without the airport card installed. The first csr wasn't very pleasant so we asked to speak to Steve who said he would make sure the card was installed. His only response is send it back for refund. When asked about the $80 in freight it is costing me his response was it's policy. Can't do anything about it. I asked if they can get one right and take the freight off the total cost. When he replied no issued to speak to his superior and he told me he was the only one I could talk to. Horrible company. Your lucky if you got a computer that worked. Because the support is horrible."

"I was looking for a used Macbook. I found the best price, free shipping and a coupon code available along with a $100 rebate! It was the best deal on the net and I did a lot of shopping! They also offered a great selection of options like a larger hard drive and a new battery and many other options. This was a great site."

"GAINSAVER IS THE WORST!!! I ordered an IMac on December 7th and received an email confirmation. Five days later I received an email saying my order had been canceled with no explanation. Payment method was fine. Called and was told to fax drivers license and credit card and place order again. That order was also canceled. Called back to ask why. Customer Service staff was rude and I lost my patience. Then their sales manager, Steve Harper, began crank calling our office and pretending to be a customer. There are other reputable companies; use them--I did and everything was fine"

"Gainsaver is the most terrible company I have EVER worked with. You customer service is despicable and your employees are down right RUDE! I receive a non-working computer which I am now expected to pay to return. It is completely unfair to ship out a non-functioning computer, then expect the buyer to take the loss. It is not my fault that you sent a non-functioning computer, and now I am losing out of close to $100 just in shipping expenses. When the company is at fault, the customer shouldn't take the loss. I would NEVER NEVER NEVER work with this company again and will make sure to make it known how terrbile they are!!!

"I have not yet received the two computers we just ordered, we did order one in October for my Dad and while he's having problems getting used to a computer, he had WebTV, the computer is all that we expected. My order is in transit and the only real complaint I have is the communication. I sent an email asking the status of the order and the reply I got was "computer shipped today", not how, which one or both, just those three words with no signature or anything. I'm sure your people are busy and a customers questions can be interruptive, but it's our money and our purchase and we shouldn't be made to feel like our call or questions aren't anything but a pain to you. I'm very excited to get our computers as this will be the first Apple's we have actually purchased. My husband is PC all the way and it took me a while to convince him to try the Apple. I'm am very interested in getting an IPad, but want to wait until the new one comes out in January.

Thank you for listening, I'm not trying to be hateful, but customer service sometimes is the only thing that seperates you from your competition. While price is a huge incentive, if the customer doesn't feel important or appreciated, they won't come back. Smile when you answer the phone, we CAN tell the difference!

"I rescind my review after further conversation with Steven Harper, he personally guaranteed he will resolve my problem and will take the appropriate actions to take care of the error. Once the issue is resolved and I receive what i ordered in a timely manner i will follow-up with a more positive review for Gainsaver.com
UPDATE: Received a call from Gainsaver notifying me the product i am looking for is unavailable and will credit me the full amount to my credit card. I am happy with their resolution and take back any negative comments i may have left. Thank you Gainsaver.

"Found this company from google. Was very impressed with the pricing. Ordered a 17" Duo Core at their sale price. DIdn't realize the price was for a bare bone system. I was afraid if I spec'ed it out how "I" like it I might as well buy a new one. Since this unit was for my kids I decided to go ahead with a bare bone.

My web order experience was excellent. I wanted to order 2 more systems for my other kids but I don't think I will be lucky a agin. Nevertheless, their pricing is very competitive. I even compared their prices to ebay items and they are comparable. I did think the shipping took longer than expected, but its ok.

I do a lot of research before I buy something so I can make sure I get the best deal possible.

I am thinking of buying 2 17" intel systems along with a 20" intel system but I decided to research their reviews and I stumbled onto this site.

I did call and spoke to a lady who's tone was very stern and harsh and I wasn't even complaining. I guess she is that way from the calls and emails that I have been reading. Nevertheless, she should be more pleasant and understanding but firm with her stance.

I decided to post this review to defend them a little because I've had the system for 3 days and its working great! I hope it continues despite everyone else's bad experience. I give them 4 out of 5 stars!! (just hope they would revise their upgrading prices)

As with everyone, I am on a strict budget. I am a single father raising 4 kids from 7 to 13 and I want the best for them and hope I won't loose money with doing business with them again.

"On August 9, ! ordered a Macbook 13.3" 1.83 GHz Intel Core Duo White from Gainsaver. When it arrived I noticed some hairline cracks - but didn't pay too much attention. Just less than a month later, the cracks popped and the casing started to open up. I contacted the company as I was within the 30 day limit and asked if I could return this unit and upgrade to a Macbook Pro Intel 15 inch with a metal case. They said yes and I returned the 13 inch and they sent the MacBook Pro. (Invoice-33968 on 9/8/10) One week AFTER the 30 day period was up on the replacement unit, the logic board died on the second unit which would cost me $800 to remedy. I contacted Gainsaver since I was just past the date, hoping they would trade me out for a replacement unit. As you can guess from reading the other reviews, they wouldn't even answer my emails except to say "out of warranty" - no other message. I emailed again, to point out that I would be buying more Macs shortly and that it seemed poor business to treat me so badly - no response. I ended up having to pay over $800 for the repair (which added to what I paid for the Mac is just short of what a brand new Mac would cost). I urge everyone to boycott this company and would certainly never shop with them again."

"Daughter ordered Apple iMac Desktop. Gainsaver pulled "bait & switch" sending older model with lower GHz Intel Core. Contacted Customer Server, spoke with Steve Harper who noted 15% restocking fee (roughly $144.45 on orginal $963 purchase) would be charged, despite the FACT error was 100% Gainsaver's.

Based on research, company's history is replete with examples of fraudulently filling orders with damaged or incorrect computer assets. Then when customers attempt to correct the order issues, Gainsavers charges additional shipping and 15% restock fees for their shipping errors. Despite the shipping error being completely Gainsavers, they "stick" customers with added charges. When discussing issue and mitigation next steps with Steve Harper, Sales Manager (i.e. Owner) he stated is was company policy and hung-up on me. Call back illicited similar response, rude hang-up. Per PublicData and online research, fraud appears to be common approach at Gainsaver. Strongly recommend NOT doing business with this person!

"In the past 2 months I have ordered and sent back two different, supposedly refurbished, MacBooks from Gainsaver. The first one had a hard drive that crashed in a week. The second one had a non-functioning power cord and a dead battery, even though I paid $79 for a new one. I will not be refunded for the warranty I bought for $150. Do not buy from this company.
One of the customer service reps told me that he was grossed out by the sound of my chewing on ice and put me on hold without telling me. Later on when he told me I wouldn't get my money back and I asked for a manager, he hung up on me. When I called back to speak to the sales manager, he told me I wouldn't be refunded and that I should be quiet - twice. The receptionist was also rude and completely unhelpful. I don't think these people will be in business for long. Do not do business with them.
