"After 3+ months of my gate opener sitting in my living room (and still in the original packaging), I successfully installed the opener at my daughter's college home where security was questionable. The model was the Estate Swing E-S1000D Solar Powered, Dual Opener. Everything went perfectly, and the written directions were outstanding. Taking my time, checking and double-checking, the whole project took me about 20 hours, and that included drilling at least twelve 3/8" holes through galvanized 3" posts. And digging a sixteen foot, 8 inch deep trench for PVC pipe to run the cable from the second opener over to the control panel. The price was excellent, and from what I can tell of a few days in service, the product is outstanding. I also had the peace of mind that if I got stuck or confused during the installation, Gatecrafters was just an e-mail or phone call away. Again, thanks for the great service - I can sleep better at night knowing that my daughters house and the cars are more secure and it will hopefully keep the 'wanderers' out of their back yard in the future. "gatecrafters.com promises service for the DIY gate builder. I think their prices are OK, but their service is not. Be prepared for incomplete and incorrect orders. Be prepared for inadequate, incomplete and nonexistent instructions and documentation. Be prepared for incorrect technical support when you call or email them. If you are a DIY builder, this group will cause you headaches, delays, costs of materials and toil and trouble as you constantly have to take two steps back for every step forward. I can't recommend them."

"Suppport from staff was good and items appeared in a timely manner. Items were not all received in good condition. Fuses were in a plastic bag and no fuses are there, just pieces of crushed glass. Directions are a bit confusing. We haven't installed the opener as yet. Instructions on a circuit board that is enclosed we have yet to figure out where it goes. We have run electricity to gate area and that is quite time consuming. Lots of rain in the FL area so that is slowing things down as well. When the opener is in place we can be more helpful as to the ease of use and operation. Hope this helps your survey."
