"I have been a Groupon customer for many years and enjoy the service. Recently, I had two incidents and Groupon displayed fantastic customer service to resolve my issue.
First, unbeknownst to me, a neighbor accidentally picked up my Groupon package and I could not locate it. I contacted Google who promptly replied and resolved the issue (they refunded me the money). Even when the package was returned by the neighbor (and I let Groupon know I found it), they insisted I keep the refund. Secondly, I purchased an item and found it was defective. I contacted Groupon and they replied immediately. Groupon walked me through the steps of communicating with the vendor. I really like the ticket system they employ, where it is a message board on the website. Groupon resolved my issue by contacting the vendor and telling them to replace the item (initially the vendor wanted pictures of the defective piece, which I was happy to send, but had no way to send the pictures for them to view). "
"I bought my first groupon deal and stupidly and in my own error bought a deal that will have expired by the time I travel to NYC. I was refunded with no issue when I explained my error it was back in my account before I even knew I was actually getting a refund. I will definitely re purchase closer to the time to use the site again. "

"I was writing with someone to express the fact that one of the merchants I purchased a Groupon for listed my Groupon as used when I never used it. This plus other information I received from friends about this merchant made me change my mind about continuing to visit this establishment. The customer service rep ignored my request and proceeded to reinstate my Groupon. I then reiterated my displeasure with this merchant and they responded advising that they will not refund me my Groupon even though I was asking for Groupon bucks. I expressed my displeasure with groupons resolution and then get a reply stating that they are so glad they were able to resolve my problem. Slap to my face if you ask me. I will never again purchase another Groupon. Most of their products are refurbished any way"

They aren't clear on the rules, as in what happens when a voucher expires, and when I tried to get clarification the customer service was could barely understand my question. I had to get two different people who gave me two different answers. The shark encounters trip I purchased was canceled due to inclement weather and I was forced to buy another local deal.
WARNING: DO NOT view voucher until right before your activity starts otherwise you're in for a nightmare if it gets canceled.
Yeah you get stuff cheap but they over-complicate things with their timelines and nebulous rules."

"I purchased 2 Rhino Bracken Tattoo deals because I wanted a custom designed tat in honor of my kidney donor. I had just started back on dialysis because my donor kidney has failed. Rick the owner had a previous experience working with a dialysis patient and infection setting in. The individual had a pedicure and during the process her toe got knocked, ultimately got infected, she had to have her foot amputated. He told me that I would have to have a Dr note before he could perform the tat work. I wasn't able to get a Dr note due to the risk of infection. I e-mailed customer service about getting a refund and I was granted an exception due to the situatio n and the purchase being over 3 days. I think this experience says a lot about the customer care and concern. I will continue purchasing Groupons and refer anyone I know wanting a tat to go see Rick at Rhino Bracken Tattoo, he is a real stand up guy."
