"I placed order on Dec 2 2019, and the status did not update until I sent an email to ask why it stuck on 17 Dec 2019. since that day, the status is kept parts on order. so I sent another email on new year 2020. Someone said will update me the ETA but no update after 1 week. I sent another email and no response by now - 12 Jan 2020. I don't know when I have to wait, and even when the parts order will be completed in the status. And after the parts order is completed, how long I need to wait? Really a frustrated shopping experience.
Update:
After communicated with Ted, the progress started going although I still need to wait until Jan 24 2020 to receive the laptop. I understand that there will be some unexpected circumstances, but please at least update customer closely when it is already delayed so long. In my case, the whole period is about 2 months after the order, and there was no status update about 1 month. Moreover, no response after sending emails is very unimpressive. Other than that the product is really good and promising."

Excellent Communication, great service very friendly staff. I bought an Alienware Area51m and Donald walked me through the build and offered many good points on my selections and pointed my in the right direction. I also purchased the TOPS service which is a "Tuning" and clean up of Windows 10, Max did the TOPS service and he has an incredible knowledge Windows tuning tips and tricks.

"This is the first time I bought a laptop online and specially a customized one, I went to their site after seeing some really good reviews about it, and I have to say Donald is a very helpful agent, he is very friendly and calm while answering me about laptops, he really helped me a lot.
He will even recommend to you what best for you, and will go through with you with the customization, even the laser print on the laptop keyboard was good as I asked for Arabic letters, their prices are reasonable too.

"HID Evolution assisted my specific requests for components and put it in a very robust Taiwan laptop, and also burned a reverse-OS back to Win 7 Pro, at no extra cost. The OEM laptop battery had issues unrelated to HID Evolution, but they sourced and sent me a replacement, again at no markup. When that battery also had issues, even 4 years later, they kept trying with OEM and resellers to find one. Now that's customer service!!"
"Item listed wasn't listed as being on backorder. Once I ordered it, got no updates after the time when the systems were supposed to come in. I emailed them once, got a reply they would look into it but got no response. I emailed them again, got no response. Finally emailed them a few days later saying I wanted to cancel my order and they told me that the systems did come in, but my order wasn't part of their first batch for some reason so who knows how long it would have been for me to get the system that I had ordered, after an already 2 week wait. They are apparently now processing my refund, we will see how long that takes."

"First and foremost, even the best experiences can have complications. I was looking for a laptop that was on sale : ASUS Republic of Gamers Strix Hero III. Nobody seemed to have it in stock, but hidevolution did have it. Sadly, they ran out of stock as I bought it! That was fine with me, because they kept me up to date on the ENTIRE process of the laptop being sent over (from their receipt of the laptop through them upgrading it to the shipping information when it went in the mail).
I had them modify the brand new laptop to improve thermals / reliability and to increase RAM. They did an amazing job. I received the laptop and have it up and running. I waited a little bit to post this so that I could verify that there was nothing wrong with the laptop. Well, it is time to say - it is a GREAT laptop. The ROG products have always been a great buy, but this new ROG Hero III laptop is a really great product. It is sturdy and looks beautiful, and it is well worth the money. Just like any large purchase, though, the sale experience can be great or it can be terrible. In my case, with HIDevolution, it was an AMAZING EXPERIENCE!

Kevin was my support / follow up guy with questions and assistance. He did a great job keeping me up to date on the status of the laptop and working with me on some issues that my dog caused (15 week old large breed puppy ATE the keystone lanyard RIGHT AFTER WE TOOK IT OUT OF THE BOX, then the dog bit the keystone itself, and had bitten a DC supply wire for another ROG laptop power brick I have... an expensive part, trust me).
I was able to choose my shipping with no hassle (USPS Priority / Insured), they don't force you to use any shipment method in particular.
I was able to use a 1 year payment plan based on my credit through one of their payment options, and it is 12 equal payments with NO interest, but it does place a hold on my credit card for the full unpaid amount part by part until it is fully paid off. This is, however, interest free. It is pretty much an interest free 12 month payment plan.
I was able to order a part for my other ROG laptop through them to have delivered with the new laptop, and they provided me a correct part due to their technical knowledge on these product. You can trust their technical knowledge and expertise!
Long story short : These guys are worth buying from. They WILL work with you on customizing your new high performance laptop. They WILL give great recommendations for your needs. They don't sell you garbage. They don't overcharge. Whenever I need another laptop or need some help with parts, these guys are getting my business.

"I was looking for a new laptop after my indestructible 2009 MBP (the one with the removable battery) was made obsolete. I needed a laptop that could run 3d modeling software, but didn't want something that looked like either a corporate clone (i.e., business workstations), or a Transformers DeLorean (i.e., gamer-oriented models).
I ended up choosing the Razer Blade advanced (early 2019), but only a few sites had it in stock. Reading reviews on the issues with support when buying from the manufacturer, I decided to go with a third-party supplier. Of the few available options, HIDevolution was slightly more expensive upfront....but based on their reviews, and my experience in buying with them, it's absolutely worth it over the long run.
Donald at HID evolution was so knowledgeable and helpful. He helped me understand my options, and talked me through the various options, which I really appreciated moving from an ancient MBP and a 2012 desktop rig. He gave amazingly detailed responses so that I was completely comfortable making such a large purchase.
Once I received my new laptop, I was so happy. I have never seen that level of customer service and support from companies nowadays, it's like something you hear about in midcentury television. I am definitely impressed.

"I originally ordered an Alienware Area51 laptop directly from Dell computers. That was a big mistake. I used the online chat function to place the order according to specification and was given a 3 week time frame for delivery. However, after 3 weeks I was told that the laptop hadn't even started production, that I would need to cancel the current order, place a new order, and then wait another 3 weeks. This was after I was told by Dell agents for 3 weeks that there was no problem. They blatantly lied to me.
If you want a Dell product (like Alienware) do NOT go with Dell. You may get lucky and have no problem, but if you're spending thousands on a high-end computer (like Alienware), why risk it? They may offer a discount, but their service is terrible and you definitely cannot trust their assurances.
That's when I searched for an alternative and found HIDevolution; what a relief! They don't offer the same discount Dell does, but they more than make up for it in service and reliability. They also offer heat reduction options (like processor delidding) which I recommend.
I contacted Donald by phone (they start with an automated system, but it doesn't take long to reach a live person) and he walked me through the steps. First, I created a profile on the HIDevolution website. Then, I searched the site for the product which most closely matched the specifications and price I wanted. Below the main product description there's a long list of customizable options. If you're not sure what those options mean, one of the reps will walk you through it until you understand what you're getting and are satisfied with specs/price.
During the payment steps, a rep called my bank to make sure the purchase was authorized, which was a comfort because it added credibility to their integrity; these guys follow through on each step to ensure a smooth process.
Donald explained the process from order, to build, to delivery and estimated the entire process to require 3 weeks (I'm 1500 miles from their location). In total it only took 17 days, and the bulk of that was waiting on parts from Dell. Once the parts were delivered, I received regular updates from my account on the HIDevolution webpage. It was exciting to see the status change from parts received, to pre-production , to production, build complete, waiting for delivery, and then delivered. I also received email notifications and was encouraged to contact them for any reason. The communication was excellent.
I would definitely order from HIDevolution again."
