"Homeclick was the only place that had the items available and had the best price of all internet and box stores. I had a question about the ship date and emailed customer service and got an email back within a day and then a follow up email after that. Very responsive. The items were delivered exactly as promised - and the driver waited while I opened the boxes and checked before signing off. I am recommending homeclick to my friends and family. Glad I found them online."

"BUYER BEWARE! I ordered 3 wet location patio lamps; 2 table and 1 floor lamp. They arrived and they were not what we expected. We attempted to begin the process of returning them. I called the number given for "returns" only to be given instructions to leave your name and phone number. I did not receive a call back.
I followed the link on their "returns" page and left an email requesting authorization to return them. No response. I called again, only this time, I called Customer Service. The next day I had a return authorization email with these instructions:

"Customers are responsible for returning the item in the original Manufacturers packaging and in new saleable condition.
Please properly package your return within another box and insure the item so a claim can be filed with the carrier if damage occurs during return shipping.
Please Write the RA number on the Outside Shipping Box (Nothing can be written on the manufacturers packaging or your return will be refused)
All products must be returned to us in the same manner it was delivered to you (shipped Freight, returned Freight; shipped Parcel, returned Parcel)"

Please note that it clearly states that "items must be returned in a different box." For us to do this, via UPS, plus shipping was $291.00.

I called HomeClick to complain. They told me I should have followed the directions on the website instead of the email instructions I received. This is what the website says:

"Items must be returned unused and in their original packaging as shipped by Homeclick.com. Any items returned in packaging other than the original packaging will be refused."

Other than original packaging will be refused...yet we were told to put it in a "different box."

Further they say, "Please Write the RA number on the Outside Shipping Box (Nothing can be written on the manufacturers packaging or your return will be refused)"

So how do you return it per website instructions in the box it was shipped from the manufacturer? If you can't write the RA # on it? And when the email instructions said to put them in a different box?

The customer service agent told me it would have been cheaper to ship them back by freight. However,the return instructions on my email said, "All products must be returned to us in the same manner it was delivered to you (shipped Freight, returned Freight; shipped Parcel, returned Parcel)" The boxes were not freighted to me so they could not be returned by freight.

When I was relaying my story to the customer service agent and told him I had not initially received a return email, he told me, "What are you complaining about? You have one now."

We realized we would have to pay a re-stock fee, which they ultimately refunded, but we are still out $291.00 because of ambiguous instructions. It would have been much cheaper to send them back in the boxes we received them in. But that was not what we were instructed to do.

"I called and spoke with Derek and specifically asked if the item was in stock and could ship within the 24-48 hours period. He put me on hold and said he has called the manufacturer. " Yes the item was in stock and would be shipped within the 24-48 hor period. Credit card put a pending charge, confirmation of shipping received. Later found out the manufacturer sold out in early June and wouldn't have item available until mid August.... WHY LIE??? Have to cancel CC charge and get Visa involved. Be honest to your customers, that's all...."Anything for a Sale" applies here"

"I had a problem because my order wasn't shipped out when it should have been and money was withdrawn from my account. I cancelled the order and was told a refund would be submitted. Within a couple hours I was contacted by the customer service manager (not because I asked her to call me) and she apologized, said that the manufacturer for the item I ordered was a new one on their books and they do not usually do business in the way that I had experienced it. She was very understanding. I will give Homeclick another try. "
