"On June 28th I purchased a KitchenAid wall oven/microwave. I had been trying to make this purchase for 3 months with everything out of stock. At one point I was told that it was a seasonal item. Seriously? What season do you buy appliances in? At the time of the purchase, I was told there were 5 in the warehouse and that because it was in stock it would be delivered the following Thursday.
Apparently they over sold the 5 they had in stock and obviously I was not one of the lucky recipients because they have now changed my delivery date 4 times.
I am waiting for this appliance to complete a kitchen remodel that big thanks to them has taken almost a year. My kitchen cabinets took almost 6 months to arrive and were so banged up my contractor had to make repairs on some of them. I couldn't imagine sending them back and having to wait another 5 or 6 months.
The money I have spent with them for this project is insane, having bought cabinets, granite, appliances, flooring, sink, hardware, and everything in between. You would think the service would be better.
I really wish I had read these reviews before I started this project. I definitely won't be shopping there again."
"I looked for an associate found none went to head cashier Laura and she paged Mike in the tools department for help gave him register 6 as my location Mike decided even after I waited 55 minutes patiently for him because Laura said he is the sole employee in tools at this time Mike proceeded to wait on others that came into the store after me. Laura went over to Mike two more times and told him to help me as I was more than patient she was so impressed how patient and Mike would not come and help me. Zeek another employee I asked as he was walking by could he help me with questions in the tool department and he did after I waited 55 minuets for help. The managers in this location stink home depot needs to hire better managers that set an example for their employees. Go to Manchester or Glastonbury CT locations they understand the value of good customer service. If Home Depot Home Office would like to listen to the complete visit give a response and I would be happy to share the video with you."
"If I could give less than 1 star I…
If I could give less than 1 star I would. DEALING WITH HOME DEPOT HAS BEEN A NIGHT MARE! I wish I looked at reviews before ordering with them. If you are going to buy items from the store that is one thing but online ordering is A NIGHTMARE. I originally placed an order for pickup, when i went to the store (PLYMOUTH MEETING) to pick up the items, they told me "they had the order for 2 days but it was too large that no one wanted to do it" - The response was lazy an unprofessional. The supervisor told me they would get the items delivered for free for the inconvenience but when I called they had no record of this. I then replaced the order for delivery on July 6th and it is now July 28th and I am still waiting on items. I call every single day and every day they tell me "the items will be there tomorrow" but they don't come or some items come and not others. This is holding up my job. I tried to reorder a few items for pickup to keep the job moving and it happened AGAIN. They had no record of my pickup order even though I had confirmation. Customer service & the stores do not communicate and are useless. They will put you on hold for 40 minutes and come back with NO RESOLUTION and no compensation offer. I WILL NEVER DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE AGAIN. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND SHOP AT LOWES. YOU WILL REGRET ORDERING WITH HOME DEPOT."
"Purchase a dishwasher from them online and purchased the install and take away. The installers show up and refuse to install saying the cord is too short which is not true. Home Depot lied and said they could install a hard wire. They refused to leave my dishwasher paid in full with me and refused to take the old one.
Called customer service who kept me on the phone lying and refusing to issue me a confirmation for canceling the order completely. They wanted me to pay for an electrician to install the dishwasher. JASON (who was very snide and a really ugly person, I really doubt he is a supervisor since his communication skills are terrible and he uses incorrect English when speaking) refused to give me a cancellation confirmation. Saying the dishwasher has to be scanned at the warehouse. I never had the dishwasher, it never entered my house, but I can't get a confirmation. As far as I know, the two delivery guys never took it to the warehouse. They say I should get a refund in 3-5 days. I need a dishwasher now!!"
"Worst customer service worst purchasing policies and return policies."
"First, we ordered a bathtub and surround. Order shipment took two weeks. The bathtub showed up, but the surround didn't, even though all the tracking info said it was delivered. Initiated a "dock search" and it was still not found. It ended up that the surround was never delivered because it was out of stock. No notifications at all, and we were charged (almost $800) for the surround. Eventually had to file a dispute with Amex. Finally resolved and we bought it from another supplier, who had it to us in three days. Second - Ordered two identical bathroom mirrors (2 each in one order number). Both shipped 5 days late from the original estimated ship date, and were assigned two different FedEx tracking numbers. One showed up, but we're still waiting for the other one... Five days late. Lesson learned? Don't buy stuff online from Home Depot if it is to ship to your home. Only buy online if they have it in stock at your local store and you can pick it up (even that is a crapshoot, sometimes). Poor inventory and shipping management all around."
"Its bad enough we have to pay incredibly inflated prices for wood now, but on top of it all the wood is so damn wet its either so warped on the rack that you have to sift through 30 boards to get one descent one OR the wood warps before you get your project assembled. Home Depot is screwing us and Im done. I will no longer shop there."
"Impossibly bad experience. I ordered 1 washer, one dryer, one stacking kit, installation, 5 year extended warranty.
waited 1.5 weeks for delivery, at the end of the delivery window I received a call from the driver that the order was damaged. I was on and off hold for over an hour to set up another delivery.
Waited one more week for Delivery Day II, no one showed up. I called Home Depot after the delivery window, I was informed that the delivery was reported damaged again (no one contacted me). No one even called me that they were on the way. I was on and off hold for over an hour to set up Deliver Day III.
Waited almost 2 weeks more, received a courtesy call that the driver would be here in 30 minutes so I went down to meet him because I wanted to see the deliver with my own eyes since that was not an option the previous 2 times. My order was not on the truck. I called Home Depot, I was on and off hold for over an hour. I was informed the "Warehouse Manager" would call me within 48 hours to set up Delivery Day IV. I was told if he did not call to call Home Depot back.
After 48 hours, no phone call from the "Warehouse Manager". I called Home Depot, after being on hold for a time, she came back on talking fixing my order and I said simply let's start with the beginning, why didn't the "Warehouse Mangager" call me? Because we are starting a conversation that I should have had 2 days ago instead of making me wait 2 days from someone that appears was never going to call me. That conversation didn't go anywhere and I was offered to deliver one item and not the other, and I could not place an order yet because it's not in stock but I could place an order in the future. How does my order situation get this bad? I didn't lose my patience until after the last conversation, I was patient for way too long. It starts turning into a game when you are told the "Warehouse Manager" would call you, it turns out from a different company than Home Depot.

"If you're coming here to get a kitchen countertop and remodel forget it. The companies they use are incompetent and unprofessional. They destroyed my kitchen and walked off the job because they couldn't figure out how to level a countertop. They left us with no countertop or sink, live electrical boxes dangling by the wires and just left. They told me that WE need to hire someone to level the cabinets, which Jesse wanted to give us a list of contractors to call. We don't work for home depot and its their job as the contractor to do this as they were hired to do the entire job. Dont trust the h. D. installation department especially Ivek or Amanda both in Lakeland, or take anyone's word at this place. DONT TRUST THEM TO DO A GOOD JOB... now im stuck with no kitchen until I find a new company to order and install it.
They refused a full refund even though its their mess up and they caused the problem. I've now hired an attorney and I'm suing them."
"I must warn you and share our experience before you buy something from Home Depot. I did not check the reviews before my purchases and regret it...
So my review: Never again... Our family won't ever purchase from Home Depot again. It was a first and last time. Very, very bad service. Very frustrating and big mess up.
We placed an order on Nov 17th (washer/dryer + fridge) and 2 months later we're still waiting for their delivery team to finish the installation... They've been bad, dishonest & not trustful. I hope they'll change their delivery service Tem Co because there are plenty of problems with them... Sum up of our adventure:
1) They came a first time and explain they could not install the appliances because one part part was missing for the washer/dryer and there were scratches on the fridge... They did not even remove their stuff from the truck and left in a few minutes. When we checked, we realized the part
was including... Bad first lie...
2) Second time they were on our schedule, we saw their truck but it did not stop to park... They said they rang the bell and that nobody was home. A scandal as we were waiting for them. But is was dark, late and rainy... Of course each time we had to prepare the house, empty/unplug the fridge, protect the rooms, etc. We have 2 kids and had to do our laundry at our neighbors' house....
3) Third time, they just cancelled without letting us know explaining there was a mix up in the delivery system. Of course we dit the whole process again and were so disappointed...
4) Exact same thing happened. Started to feel traumatized.
In between, I've called many times the Home depot customer line... Sometimes, not helpful, sometimes 45 minutes of waiting, sometimes disconnected, sometimes, nice people who explained "it was outrageous" or "ridiculous". That we should ask for a compensation...
But we were prisoners as we paid 2 months before and were still waiting for the appliances to arrive. And Home depot had no leverage on the delivery system. Could not help to fasten the process for example or offer an alternative solution...
5) After weeks of frustration, the delivery team came back on January 21th. This time they said they could not install the washer/dryer because Home Depot did not provide parts to do it. We were ver angry and asked them to install at least the fridge which they did very fast without paying attention. We asked them to teke back our old appliances (we paid for that) and they answered they could not because the truck was too full. Seriously???? You come after 2 months with another excuse not to to the wor? So now, we still have our also washer / dryer that don't work, the new ones in the middle of the kitchen... And no parts. When I called Home depot, after 3 disconnections, they just scheduled the team to comme bak in February.
Euh??? Who does that? Can you imagine the difficulties wit 2 kids???? Pfff. Is that the way you work?
As I said never again. Lesson well learned.
And I let you know if we got any kind of compensation... "
"Was buying a product for $611.00 and my card only had $604.00 on it , they took my money then canceled my order instead of contacting me over an 8 dollor balance , that's to homedepot I lost my new job , I've been out of work for 6 months and they took my last 600 dollors in the world and now my money will be on hold somewhere for a week , I needed that job"
"HomeDepot has the worse customer service you can imagine. I bought 2 pieces of furniture with them. They could not deliver it for two months. When the furniture arrived in the store one piece was damaged, the other wrong color!! It took Homedepot another 3 weeks to exchange the wrong items, one at a time. The local store in Honesdale PA does not do their job and needs to call them 10 times and complain to them to get something done. I will never buy with HomeDepot again. It is a 1-star Company right now!!"
"I made an order for an LG Washer on 12/14/. When I initially ordered the website stated "get it by 12/17".
So because my old washer is dead and I got 3 kids, I but the bullet and made the order online.
At the final confirmation page .. the date had moved to 12/22... Ok no biggie.. its the holidays.. there must be lots of deliveries .. So completed the checkout.
The process on site is very seamless and easy to do..
Now comes the not so great side of things...
Fast forward to Wed... the delivery team called 30 minutes out and arrived sooner.. Terrific .. I've covered all bases prior to the delivery day.
- Removed hardware the the exterior door that would block the washer
- Took 2 doors off their hinges so it would be a ultra clear and fast delivery.
- All Pathways were cleared, vacuumed and mopped as who wants to deliver to a pigsty?
Alas .. upon unboxing.. there was a HUGE dent at the rear right corner panel.. the dent is deep enough to say more than likely it would impede the drum from spinning.
The folks deliverying gave the best advice and frankly suggested based on their view of the damage it was best to REFUSE the delivery. Which I did..
Now comes the tough part... Called the CS # on the card I was given to coordinate a redelivery... Spoke with Andre who documented the issue but the end result was - a separate team will reach out to advice WHEN a replacement order can be delivered.
So in between jumping on some virtual meetings.. I find the same washer being offered by another big box competitor.. same price.. and they were able to promise delivery on Monday 12/27.
So.. I made my order with them instead.
I called CS for HD again and was able to get another nice and professional Agent (forgive me I did not get her name). She was very empathetic to the situation.. but also advised she could not promise a redelivery time.. We ended up cancelling that order with HD.
Frankly the people overall have been great.. the policies they have to work with are terrible.
To make a customer (Medium Ticket price.. the washer was $800.. after taxes and haul away closer to $1k) wait and not have a time of replacement for a damaged item which is NOT the customer's fault is just unacceptable in this day and age.
To wait for the "vendor" to make a decision on when and how an item is replaced is NOT the customer's problem.. Thats between HD and the Vendor.. HD should have just resubmitted a new order with "escalated" delivery and given a date.
I am giving 3 stars to the actual staff who:
The delivery staff was very apologetic for the experience.
The two CS reps who handled business with empathy and professionalism but was clear on what can and cannot happen.
The minus 2 stars is for a corp policy that ultimately makes the customer wait as they coordinate with a vendor for exchange and replacement."
"Bought and paid for a new refrigerator, 11/27/21, they told me I had to wait till 12/16/21 to have it delivered, 12/15 I call to make sure on the 16th delivery date the answer was everything on time between 8:30 to 12:30 was the window. So my wife and I made arrangements to be there, well 12/16 12:30 PM came and went I called HD and they said it had been change till the 17th, not even a call and I can't rearrange that day I told them just give me a refund and I'm thru with HD for good, thats the type of service you get at HD when you go in it seems that half the people try to hide, I don't need that ! Goodbye HD !"
"Had one of the worst experiences with a vendor, that I can remember. Went to your flooring dept. at you Poulsbo Washington location picked a slate flooring and scheduled install. After waiting 2 months they show up today, pull my carpet, cutting it into pieces, remove it with padding, lay out my slate, call manager, manager comes, installers leave. Evidently they do not like to install flooring on chip Crete, which is what I have over my radiant floor heating system. I am sitting in my home with no flooring and no resolution other than oops sorry, we can refund you you're money. Crystal (from flooring) and Shannon (store manager) were absolutely no help. This is how you operate? The measurer came out 2 months ago, measured, pulled a corner of carpet and indicated the subfloor, so what's the problem? Why am I sitting in my home with no flooring and no help!! As my records will show, I have spent $15,000. at Home Depot this year and hundreds of thousands over the past decades. This is completely unacceptable. Contact at Home Depot Executive Escalations, was a joke. She claims she is an advocate for the consumer, when she is just trying to make the issue go away."
