"Like everyone else, I did my research and decided to go with Hypersonic.

The systems are pricey, but it's like buying a new car. You have to shell out the big bucks for quality, luxury and horsepower.

Speaking of horsepower-I don't know how they managed to fit so many horses inside that Wave case. My SonicBoom is definitely 0 to 60 in record time.
With the P4 3.2 xtreme edition, I'm flying through a huge number of simultaneous apps. And there's never a hitch.

Looks great too. Really fantastic paint job--definitely showroom quality. Only one problem-the wife is nervous I'm going to spend as much time detailing the case as I do to my car ('73 Mustang). But for a car buff, the paint job is a must. Well, really for anyone who wants a really wicked looking system. It seriously looks like a hot rod.

Sales staff was very competent and professional. Tech department definitely knows what they're doing. And customer service, get this, actually serves the customers-a rare treat these days.

I really don't have one complaint. It's funny because I'm usually pretty good at finding fault with companies and nit-picking. But Hypersonic has stumped me.

"The bad part was that it took a long time to get my laptop. Seven weeks long! The good part is I got a sweet and very unique laptop. The paint is beautiful, and the laptop is fast! Lots of oohs and aahs.

Hypersonic customer support started out pretty bad, but finished very strong. (thanks Meghan!)

I ordered the nx6 in Piercing Blue Metallic on Dec 16th. The date Hypersonic first said my laptop would ship was Friday Jan 16th. On Jan 15th I called to make sure they would be sending on time. I was told that my laptop was completely finished but was badly scratched while being packaged!!! I was told it would delay shipping a few days.

They said they would upgrade my shipping to next day. Very generous considering I already paid for 2day air.

These delays continued for the next two weeks until finally I was told my laptop would ship out on a Friday.

So along came Friday and nothing shipped, so I call. The sales guy puts me on hold for 10 mns and then tells me it is ready and being packaged as we speak... I should get shipping confirmation in the next hour or so. 7 PM comes and goes, no ship notification. Once again, broken promises.

Needless to say I was mad and wanted to just cancel the whole order.

Monday morning I got a call from Meghan at Hypersonic (CS Supervisor). She apologized for the “miscommunication” the previous Friday. In an effort to compensate me she said Hypersonic would not only ship overnight, they would refund my shipping fees as well. She also said she would send a free gift with my laptop. On top of that she informed me that my order was their highest priority, and that I would have it no later than Wednesday.

All right… things were starting to look better now.

As promised by Meghan, I got my laptop Wednesday morning, and it looked great! The paint is superb. There are a couple of flaws, but they are on the bottom, and I don’t mind since you can’t see them. Meghan also sent me at no charge a matching intellimouse, Hypersonic mousepad, and a laptop briefcase. I was happy to see the intellimouse.

I also got a call later in the week from Meghan. She wanted to make sure everything was cool. I mentioned I was having some issues with system lock ups, but I was not too concerned yet. I had only had time to use it briefly and I figured the coming weekend I could investigate the issues. Ten mns after speaking with Meghan, Hypersonic tech support called me! Now that’s being proactive! Unfortunately I was about to start a meeting and could not talk. I did end up fixing the issues myself. It seems the ATI drivers that were installed we the source of my problems. I replaced them with the Radeon Omega 2.5.14 drivers and have not had one issue since.

"Great people over there, although they had a problem that lead to a rather long delay (16.1" LCD screen shortage that effected all 8890's) they bent over backwards to try and accomadate me. In the end they provided me with a overnight shipping, Earthmate GPS unit, mouse pad, additional Hypersonic binder as well as upgrading my screen to UXGA standard that was not available at the time I orderd my unit. All for no charge :) The only thing they could have done better at is communicating some of those status changes and problems with thier customers. I usualy ended up calling for the status etc. Other than that these guys were first rate. Oh and I allmost forgot I orderd a 3.2Ghz GX8 Notebook in metallic blue"

" I was concerned after reading some bad reviews in reseller and almost went elswhere. I called them and they seemed concerned with their reseller ratings also. It has been my experience that the people working at this company care very much what customers think and proof of that was in the great system they sent me. Their tech support has been great too(although I haven't needed them much because my system is solid). I priced the parts all over the internet and decided it was about the same price to have hypersonic build it and ship it to me. I feel confident that if something would have gone wrong with my order(nothing did), they would have upgraded something or done whatever they could to keep me happy. I am very happy-thank you hypersonic!!"

"I ordered the Aviator AX6 laptop from Hypersonic-PC. It is the same Arima laptop that VoodooPC sells for much more, though reportedly VoodooPC makes a few modifications, paints it, etc.
At first I was rather unhappy with Hypersonic. The salesman said that the laptop should arrive by 5Dec2003 (ordered on 11Nov2003). Well, the 5th came and went. Then the 6th, 7th, etc. On the 11th I called (30 minute wait time) and let them know I needed it by Monday the 15th for finals. The rep said he would annotate the order to enable saturday delivery if available, but otherwise it would arrive Monday morning. Well, Monday morning was too late for the early final, so I hoped it would arrive Saturday the 14th. Same and went. Then MONDAY came and went... And Tuesday. Keep in mind I had ordered this with overnight shipping. A lot of good that extra $40 did for me.
Anyway, it arrived Wednesday 17Dec, almost 5 weeks after the order. (To be fair, this was a very new model that they had little experience with at the time).
The laptop was well packaged, probably with the manufacturer's packaging. At first it seemed like they took the Arima (the manufacturer--most brandname laptops are made by a 3rd party ODM in Taiwan, except some IBMs and most Apples) and simply put stickers on it saying "Aviator AX6". It was missing the logo on the back of the screen too, which looked unprofessional, because the logo was supposed to hide the plastic injection point.
So, I was rather grumpy. However, after I used it for a while, I noticed that they really did create a custom WindowsXP install (Linux is not an install option). It had the latest fixpacks, a link to a customer satisfaction survey website on the desktop, and a number of tweaks here and there to enable sane defaults. I filled out the customer survey, complaining about the missing logo/lateness of order, etc.
Thus far I was only mildly impressed at best. Later that day though, I found that I had a message from a Hypersonic-PC employee calling to ask if the laptop arrived and what I thought of it. I missed the call, but it was a nice touch. Two or three days later I was surprised to find that someone at Hypersonic-PC had sent via UPS 2-day Air a logo for the laptop. My name and address was hand written on an envelope and it was wrapped in a piece of paper.
Well, well. Not only did someone read the comments from the customer survey--that day apparently, but they actually did something about it, that day, sending a logo via a shipping method that surely cost more than the logo itself.
Not that I really thought the missing logo was a big deal, but the effort at a resolution was definitely impressive.
With that said, Hypersonic PC delivered on every promise except delivery date (which was really an estimation, not a promise), and in several other ways went above and beyond the call of duty. The laptop itself is very sturdy and well-built, without the flimsy, cheap feel of most Dell laptops. The battery life advertised on the website is actually, *gasp* accurate (please take notes, Apple) and the people that you speak with, though I am sure there are exceptions, know what they are talking about. (i.e. they aren't random, untrained people from some subcontractor in India, though I have yet to call their off-regular-hours 24/7 tech support line they subcontract out for those that buy extended warranties).
Upon reflection, the shipping date thing may have been an honest mistake (though from reviews here, apparently it is a frequent one). The other minor problems with the order and product were solved and overall I would highly recommend Hypersonic-PC to anyone needing an excellent PC/Laptop with *excellent* service, but not one who is in any sort of hurry.
Addendum: I later found out that the laptop arrived with a much upgraded hard drive as well. I ordered their cheapest drive (40GB 4200RPM, or maybe 60BG--I don't remember), and the laptop actually has an 80GB 5400RPM drive, which is the most expensive one they sell. The order still listed the originally ordered drive.
I am not sure if this was a mistake, a gift, something to appease an irritated customer, or if they had run out of the other drives. Regardless of the reason, it was certainly a pleasant surprise.

"I ordered the GX6 notebook and it is perfect. The screen is devoid of any bad pixels or other flaws, just as was promised, and everything is perfectly stable.

I e-mailed the company many times before purchasing the notebook, and all of their replies were very verbose, informative, and especially honest. Yes, the wait time was long -- they shipped it 15 days after I ordered it, and their online tracking system had given an estimate of 30 days after ordering. But wait time is not at all important if it helps ensure the system works perfectly when it arrives.

"i've been fixing to get a new pc for a while now. i heard about hypersonic through an article in Tech Edge and i decided to give em a go. i ordered the boom desktop and its booming all right. its most certainley the most fast computer i ever had. this rig is fully loaded and unstopable. everythin i dealth with hypersonic on was always handled right quick and the guys i talked to were always friendly and real in the know."

"After much begging and pleading on my part, I was finally able to convince my boss that I needed a new high-end laptop. I got the OK and started shopping around. There are several companies with powerful desktop replacements on the market, but for some reason, Hypersonic really caught my eye. I really liked the products that they had to offer, plus their warranty, upgrade policy and 24/7 customer support really stood out to me-and I was sure they'd please the boss too.

I decided to go with the Aviator GX8 for its power and relative portability. I travel occasionally. The GX8 is a little bit bulky, but I've noticed that sometimes you have to sacrifice a little in terms of size to have such awesome power. And when I say awesome power, I mean truly amazing speed and unbelievable stability. This box is a rock.

As far as my dealings with the people at Hypersonic, I really can't say that I have any complaints. Turnaround time was a little long, but I guess that's to be expected when you're ordering such a finely tuned piece of machinery with individual specifications. Granted, I could have walked into an electronics store and come home with a Mac, Toshiba, or Dell, but why would I want a piece of assembly line equipment when I could have a laptop tailor made to my specs? To me, it's a no brainer. I mean, when is the last time you heard of anyone calling Dell or Toshiba to find out the status of their order and actually speaking to the person building their machine? I'll tell you when--never--because those people don'e build the machines-they stand on an assembly line and do their little robotic functions while they mass-produce zillions of clone machines.

My boss was a little hesitant about the price of the GX8-a Hypersonic will definitely run you alot more than your standard big name laptop. But I managed to convince him to just try Hypersonic out, and if he wasn't totally 110% satisfied, I would either return the laptop or buy it from the company.

When the laptop arrived, I got it out of the box and immediately went to work setting it up to my personal preferences. Then I took it to the boss man to show off (and gloat,"I told you so!"). He was very impressed and has since decided to order Hypersonics for the rest of my team. It's great-because I get tons of points for "discovering" this great company and their top-notch computers.

The bottom line: price is a little higher than average, wait time is a little longer than average, but the system is WAY above average and well worth the $ and the time.

"There are few companies out there today that pay as close attnetion to detail as Hypersonic PC. Never have I dealt with a company who's products are as impressive and who's employees are as professional and courteous as the people at Hypersonic.

I placed my original order olnine, which I must comment was a very straightforward and efficient process. A few days later, I checked the website and noticed a few new products were being offered. I decided to call the sales line and find out if it would be worth my while to change a few components. The guy I spoke with was very well informed about all the products and the differences between what I had selected and what I was contemplating. (As he should be, working for a computer manufacturer). He patiently answered all of my questions (I'm sure they were somewhat annoying) in a very pleasant manner.

I ended up changing some of the parts in my system, which did delay the wait time by a few days, but it was certainly worth it. In fact, the wait time was really the only problem I had with Hypersonic. I wanted my computer to arrive faster, but then again, as the saying goes, 'Good things come to those who wait.' I feel like I'm in a Heinz Ketchup commercial! But seriously, now that I have the system, the wait was definitely worthwile.

The sales and tech support staff kept me informed throughout the entire building and shipping stages of my order. I was very specific about just what I wanted and just how I wanted it. Hypersonic made that happen--my PC is completely tailored to my needs and desires. You don't get that kind of service just anywhere. I've purchased several PCs in the last 6-7 years, from companies both large and small. I'll tell you, no other company can come close to the level of service provided by Hypersonic. they even gave me a follow up call a week after I got the system to make sure everyhting is going well. Which it most certainly was.

On customer service alone, they get 2 thumbs up. Add to that an amazing computer that's an absolute dream to use and more than easy on the eyes! Call me a geek or whatever , but honestly, I have never been so excited to
sit down at my desk and work.

Like I said, I've purchasd several systems over the years, and seriously, I'm kicking my self in the a@$ for not going with Hypersonic sooner. I'm 110% pleased with my new system and everything that Hypersonic has to offer.

"After seeing a friend’s Hypersonic laptop, I decided to purchase my next desktop from them. I’m so glad that I made that decision. I ordered their Sonic Boom machine with an Intel P4 3.2 and an ATI Radeon 9800pro 256MB in one of the custom colors (the blue one). The ordering process online was easy and streamlined. I wasn’t sure about a few options, so I emailed sales and got a reply back within hours. The salesman who answered my questions was really knowledgeable, polite and helpful.

The estimated time for delivery was about 3 weeks, and I was expecting to receive my system on October 8th. On the 6th, I got a phone call from someone at Hypersonic to inform me that there would be delay on my order by a few days. I was kind of mad about it-considering I had been waiting for almost 3 weeks at this point, but then when I thought about it, I realized I’d rather have a system that gets to my door and works out of the box than have to go thru the hassle of sending a brand new computer back to them. They also told me that they were going to upgrade my shipping to overnight so that I would have the system by the end of the week (this was a Monday that we were speaking).

On Thursday afternoon, someone from the shipping department at Hypersonic called me just to inform me that my system had just left their loading dock and would be arriving at my house on Friday. He told me that I’d be receiving tracking numbers by email later that evening. I thought that was really nice that they gave me a courtesy call to let me know what was going on and to keep an eye on my email for the tracking numbers.

Just as promised, my system showed up the next day. I think I must have had it out of the box and set up in record time. Then, I pushed the little button and held my breath. It turned on and booted up quickly and flawlessly. I’ve been using it without a problem ever since. It’s really amazing. First of all, it looks so hot. The blue tower with the matching keyboard and mouse are really great to look at. The paint feels very smooth, deep and glossy with metallic pearls inside—it’s a really high quality paint job-just like how the advertise it-like a car out of the showroom. Though I’ve only had the system for about 1 week, its been running without a glitch. And you want to talk about speed? This thing is killer. Definitely the fastest computer I’ve ever used.

In short, I love this computer. I really don’t get too attached to material things very often, but this computer is probably one of the nicest things I’ve owned in a long time. I highly recommend Hypersonic. Seriously, I’m telling people on the street to go and get one of these boxes.

"I ordered my Hypersonic Aviator GX8 last month after looking into all my options for a laptop and carefully considering pricing and features.


I opted for the 3.0GHz version with the Reflexxion Series High-Gloss Piercing Blue Metallic paint on it. All I can say is Wow, this is a powerful pizza box!

In short, the order arrived within a week of when they estimated, they were helpful on the phone when I called. Most of the drivers included worked fine, but the display driver is quite old and Hypersonic's FTP site sucks, so I got the updated drivers from Sagernotebook.com instead.

Paul and David from sales were helpful and put up with my polite, but repeated calls inquiring when exactly the laptop would ship.

All told, as long as I don't have some crappy support experience with them later down the road, I'll be ordering Hypersonic laptops in the future for my gaming laptop needs.

Now to go down to the local computer shop and make the little girly-geeks cry at the sight of the 3GHz Hypersonic monster I call Smurfette...

"When looking back on my dealings with Hypersonic, one word comes to mind. Superb! I recently received my Aviator CX5, and I cannot convey how impressed I am with this company! I'm going to have to tell the whole story, so that y'all get the picture.

OK, I decided that I was in the market for a laptop, but a really nice high-end one that I could easily use at both the office and at school. I checked out the standard big names (Dell, HP, Toshiba, etc.), but I wanted MORE. So, I began looking into the boutique manufacturers. I checked out the big names in boutique manufacturers, and Hypersonic was the obvious choice. A real person responded to my email inquiries promptly (unlike the automated "A----ware is too cool to actually answer you" message that I got. That autoreply got me PO'd, and if you've ever been to a Best Buy and seen their cases-well they're kind of cheap looking. So, I ruled them out immediately.

So now I was left with 2 companies, let's call them V and H, which I decided to try out by phone (I have lots of free time at work).

Anyway, I'm a chick, and I know computers. So, I figured a great way to test these companies would be to call the sales people and act like I don't know jack and see if anyone tries to take advantage of that. Let's just say that Company V tried to tell me that I needed all kinds of (expensive) options that I definitely didn't need, and one V rep even went so far as to insinuate that I should get a painted system b/c I'm a woman and outward appearances are the most important thing to us. I did get a painted system, but not solely b/c I'm a woman and need my technology to be pretty. I'm a graphic designer, and clients often see my laptop. You just look so much more polished & put together when your laptop matches your car.

Moving along, I went with the company who didn't try to pull the wool over my eyes-Hypersonic.

The ordering process was incredibly smooth. The salespeople were incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. No up-selling here. Even their accounting department is top notch--there was a problem with the address on my credit card, and they promptly called me and helped me to fix it.

Hypersonic runs a very tight ship. They kept me informed throughout the entire building and testing phases of my order. They found a problem with my hard drive during testing, so they had to replace it. They called me to tell me that this problem might delay my order by a day or two, but they were going to upgrade my shipping to compensate for any delay, which amazed me. They did all the little things that make a purchasing experience pleasant. They even gave me a free gift.

So, they ended up sending it out 1 day late, but with the upgraded shipping, I got it exactly when promised. I was like a little kid in a candy store! I tore open the package, and began flinging packing stuff all over my office in my mad rush to get the system out (LOTS of packing stuff-they make sure these babies are safe en route).

This beauty of a machine went right out of the box and onto my network without a hitch, and it has been performing superbly ever since. I am in love with it, in awe of it, and just so happy with it!

Now, I'm a bit of a nut, and I wanted to make sure that I got what I had paid for "the whole package." So, I called tech support, even though there was nothing wrong with the machine. I gave them a made up problem, and they walked me through the fix immediately and without being condescending or impatient.

I can tell you right now, that 3 of my co-workers are ordering systems from Hypersonic and I'll be a customer for life. Thanks and kudos to the men and women at Hypersonic, you're the best.

NEWS FLASH

Update to my post on 09/13/03. I had some other very minor issues (USB ports stopped working) w/my box after it was up and running. So I called Alex at Hypersonic and we discussed the problem and we came to the conclusion that the SCSI 18GB Cheetah hard drive had a defective driver or the SCSI it self was bad. This is where Hypersonic truly begins to shine, Alex says the SCSI is out of warranty (from my original purchase in 2002), but he would replace it at NO CHARGE, yippee… So I return the computer and while it’s in transport I call Sales and speak to Paul about the new AMD 64FX-51 chip, motherboard, and registered ram. Well I’m hooked I need to upgrade again, but the news is the AMD chip is like 45-60 days out. I’m bummed, but Paul to the rescue; he makes a few calls to the big cohune upstairs, explains he has a live fish online and needs the upgrades ASAP. Well Paul comes through with flying colors and tells me that when my computer arrives, not only will he have the parts, but Alex “the Man” is going to personally build my new system. Oh gosh will the goodness never end. To top things off Alex calls with updates as he works on my system, then the day before it’s due to ship I call and want a red case w/lights and a window. Silence on the phone, Alex says no problem and it will still ship on time. This guy must have worked all night switching all my components to make the dead line. Can we say this guy must be at the front of the line for a promotion.

My system arrived as promised, booted and the light show began. I had red LED’s and a blue window installed, surrounded by that drop dead gorgeous Sonicwave omniscient red case. Not only is this box fast, but for those of you who game online, one word “owned” you will own everyone. I run cable broadband and the word lag never crops up, this system just humps.

My previous comment “Is Hypersonic customer driven or just another corporation looking for profits at customer expense?” Really should say Hypersonic is not only customer driven, but is sensitive and caring to its customer’s needs. Hypersonic has truly stepped up and raised the bar, leaving the competition groping in the dust. Would I upgrade again or just buy again YES. Paul and Alex are two employee’s that make up the cornerstone of one impressive company “Hypersonic”. Thanks Guys…
