"For all of you potential computer buyers out there—here’s a brief look into my purchase experience w/Hypersonic. I bought the EX7 laptop for my son as a birthday present. He is in the military, and it was a surprise shipment. I know that APO packages can take a bit of a long time to make it to the bases, and I wanted to make sure that my son got his system relatively near his birthday. Hypersonic worked with me to ensure that the shipment was sent out by my deadline—and my son did receive his system the day before his birthday. I decided to go with one of their custom paint and logo schemes. They were very helpful in advising me about logo placement and text style.
What really threw me over the edge and made me a walking ad for this company is the following. I was nervous about the way that the system was going to end up looking. It was a gift, and it was being shipped directly to my son overseas. I would not get to see it or approve of it before “giving” it to him. The people that I was dealing with at Hypersonic knew that it was a gift that I won’t see until his tour of duty ends, and they did the most amazing thing--without me having to even ask, the offered to take some photos of the system and email them to me for approval. Their thoughtfulness is so appreciated by my wife and me.
Now, of course, I can’t vouch for the system’s performance, but here’s part of an email that I got from my son on his EX7:
**Hey dad & mom,
OMG, wow! I can’t thank you enough for this laptop. You have no idea how happy you’ve made me. It’s so nice to have a form of entertainment other than sand and it’s so comforting that I can keep in touch with everyone a lot easier. Everyone in my squad is dying for one of these things and the paint/artwork is so hot! **
So, there you have it. I think it’s safe to say, we’re all happy! "
"I'm absolutly fed up with hypersonic PC, they have done nothing but screw me. I baught an Avaitor AX6 back in september... since then it's spent at least 2 and 1/2 months in there facility. When i first recieved the Machine the video card was fried, so i sent it back. It took them 4 weeks to repair it and send it back. Then I started getting this nasty blue screen error all the time and the CD drive was not as fast as advertised so after having it for about 34 days, i called and complained and they sent me a stick of ram to fix the blue screen error and that didn't work so they had me send it back a second time. They told me it would be about a week to get it back, well every time i called after the first week it was another week from the day of each phone call. They almost had the system for 5 weeks and they probably would have if i didn't threaten to take them to small claims, so they say they're sending me a "Brand New Prebuilt system" well so much for that, it seems they just gave me all the old parts in a new laptop case. Now i'm having the same blue screen error, and i've e-mailed the head customer service 3 times in the past week. The first email was responded to within 20 minutes and i was told i would be receiving help from tech support shortly, well 2 days later i emailed her back saying there was no word from tech support, and i haven't gotten a response back over the past 2 days and i just got the error again and sent them pictures of it because last time i sent it back they said they couldn't duplicate the problem. At this point all i want is my money back to go buy a system that works but they said because at one point in time i had it for 32 days without a problem that they will only repair it. I'm absolutly furious, and i'm just about ready to call a lawfirm back and tell them i'm ready to go to small claims because now i'm not even getting e-mail responses. If you ever buy from this company which i would not recommend, make sure you have no problems with the system within 30 days cause if you wait, they'll deny your request for a refund, and make you keep sending it back for months at a time."
"My original order was for the AX7. When I received it, it came with an incompatible DVD drive that caused the boot screen to hang. I did not know better so I stuck with the system for a while. Eventually I had it replaced with a better drive. Within a month, the system GPU would not play any game or movie in full screen. I tried every method of reinstalling the system and nothing would work. I figured I would wait on it and I might think of something. Then I bought the Audigy 2 ZS notebook for the PCMCIA slot. The system had a really bad chip for the PCMCIA and the sound would crackle and pop. At this point I had enough. I sent the system in to Hypersonic for an RMA. It took a week for them to send it back, and when they did, they shipped it to the wrong address. They sent it to my school address instead of my home. This is a problem because my school is in SoCal and my home is in NorCal. The package was delivered to a holding facility at my school and I was without my computer for a month (winter break). When I got back to school, my computer wasn’t there. Hypersonic went against what I told them and had the package shipped to my house. I had to wait another day to get it back. When I got it back, I found that they did not fix a thing! Instead I got a note saying they couldn’t test the PCMCIA because they didn’t have a sound card to try (and yet they sell the sound card). After speaking with Hypersonic several times we agreed to ship the system back to them and order a brand new model system. They told me that my new system, EX7, would be shipped as soon as they received my current system.
I ended up waiting another month to receive my EX7. Granted it was my fault somewhat because I changed the order several times to add newer parts. When I eventually received it, it had dead pixels on the screen and I ordered the No Dead Pixel Policy. Again I sent it back to them. A few more months went by (partly my fault again) because I had them make some newer upgrades to it. Problem is that Hypersonic lists the release of things before they have it, then tell customers they have it or will have it soon, but actually get it very late. I was getting frustrated with Hypersonic so I decided to post a review on resellerratings.com. Since it was negative a rep contacted me and asked me to remove the review until this matter is sorted. He promised that I would not have any more problems and everything would be right again. So I received my next system and again, dead pixels, but this time the DVD drives die too. I send this system back and wait for another month-ish and get the next system. Low and behold, another dead pixel, along with a cracked logo. At this point I am already having an extremely hard time in school without a computer so I decide to keep the system until the quarter is over and then send it in.
When I finally send it in again, Hypersonic makes a mistake (to their benefit) and ships it back to them 3day air instead of overnight. So I am out of a system for more time. When I get the system back, I find not only that I am stuck with dead pixels, but it is also the UGLIEST screen ever. It was full of streaks all over the screen (highly visible when system is off or screen is displaying a black color). Not to mention that they did not fix the cracked logo, and the screen frame arrived scratched. Since I had a lot of homework to do, I could not send the system back right away, but eventually I had to because one of Hypersonic’s VBios updates ruined the computer and would no longer boot. It contained data that I desperately needed. I tried to RMA it right away, but Hypersonic was closed.
This is possibly the #1 reason that I get so frustrated with them. The reason this company is so slow in EVERYTHING they do & full of problems is because they are closed Saturday & Sunday. This means that if you need to send your system in, you are stuck for a bit. I sent my system in on Tuesday, having to redo all my work to turn in on Wednesday. Hypersonic tells me that they didn’t see the streaks on the screen. I am baffled. But whatever, I have had enough of arguing with them. I decided to just wait and see what they give me next. I received my system back on Friday with a PERFECT screen, & everything seems to be working. Except for the fact that they must have left a screw loose in the laptop because I can hear it rolling around when I pick the system up. It’s nothing worth dealing with an RMA for. I’m going to let it be and cross my fingers and hope to GOD that this system doesn’t have anymore problems.
Another thing that really made me upset with this company was the fact that they seem to never take credit when they screw up (which happens very often). Instead they blame problem after problem on shipping.
Over the last month, I was told several times about a “free gift” that I would receive for my troubles. That never happened. I ordered my original system in August 2004. It is now July 2005. Hopefully that was the end of the problems.

"purchasing was very simple online. web site is great. liked the way the prices for upgrades and downgrades were posted behind each item so you could see right away if it was able to fit the budget instead of having to hit the update button and wait for a refresh. shipping calculation was nice to be able to see how much your total was without having to stuff it in a "cart" and go part way through checkout before getting a real total."
"Bought an aviator ax6 laptop a year ago and from then it runs as the first day I got it. I must admit I was concerned about the delivery since I had to return to my homeland, greece, but hypersonic kept the time schedule and delivered it in perfect condition, in which it still remains.
Yes, a bit pricy, but never regretted it for all those troublefree hours of use. "
"I must say I had an excellent experience purchasing my Aviator GX6 a year ago. I was able to customize almost every aspect of my laptop and when I needed to have the system shipped to me earlier than their origional delivery date, I received it a week early! Now after a year of heavy use and constant traveling the rig is still operating without a glitch!"
"Around a year ago, I purchased a desktop from Hypersonic. I was very impressed with the mid-level system that I ordered for my wife's home office. I decided that I'd give their mobility line a go for myself. So, around Thanksgiving, I ordered an Aviator model EX7. I was just going to go with the standard silver color, but my wife told me that if I wanted a paint job as an X-Mas gift, I should go ahead and pick a color. I decided to go with the Piercing Blue color. More about that later.
Although I have pretty decent computer knowledge, I had some questions pre-purchase. I emailed sales department, and they got back to me that same biz day. They answered my questions thoroughly and they were friendly. What I liked most is that they do not push you to choose the most expensive parts for your system--they really give you a good idea of what will work best for your particular applications.
The killer part of the whole process was the 4 week wait time for my painted system, but I figured since it was coming around X-mas, it would be just like when I was a kid. BTW, the waiting nearly killed me--I can really empathize with my 6 year old son now.
So, finally, my estimated ship date of 12/23 came, and my system was sent out. I had originally selected 2 day air and was expecting that the system would arrive after X-Mas. My wife, however, was very sneaky. She called Hypersonic and told them that she wanted to upgrade my shipping and add some games to my order as a surprise. Hypersonic gave her the shipping upgrade free of charge as a courtesy.
So, I was shocked to find my gorgeous EX7 Aviator under the tree on X-mas morning. Now that I have the system in my possession, I realize that as much as I complained about the 4 week wait--this system is so good that I would have waited 2x as long (or even longer).
The paint is gorgeous--it's a really deep metallic hue, and the coverage is definitely comparable to high end auto detailing. The ports are plentiful. The screen is perfect--free of dead pixels, glossy, and HUGE. The machine is a beast -- speed, stability, functionality and heft.
Some people see this machine and think that it is too much--it really is huge. Yeah, it's going to give you some muscles if you plan on carrying it around from place to place day after day. But for the occasional trip, it's really not that bad. I took it on a plane for New Year's and had no problem traveling with it.
I'm using the Beast (that's what I like to call her) right now, and I can not imagine myself ever going back to the flimsy little Dell I had before.
Cheers to Hypersonic for putting out a classy, sturdy, powerful machine and for making my X-mas one to remember. "
"well its been about 3 weeks since i got my aviator gx7. since i was purchasing the laptop from overseas there was a weeks delay between the order and payment confirmation(including the weekends), but thats pretty much normal i guess.
I ordered a fully loaded gx7, the mais specs are as follows
p 4 3.4
1 gb ram
60 gig hd (24/7 operatio)
the rest are pretty much the base accessories like the graphics card and the 6 in 1 card reader etc.
I'll start of with the order process - i was mucking around the hypersonic website since august but pushed getting one till nov. Anyways after i configured one online i spoke to a rep called adam, awesome guy, very hepful, answered all my questions, advised me on certain purchases, basically got me thru the nitty gritties of tech terms.
After i made the payment came the waiting period.
Towards the end of my waiting period i was getting a bit jumpy as the EX7 was released and i just pitied my mis timing but i guess thats part of life. Add to that adam reassured me that i wasn't missing much by not getting the EX7.
well after recieving it i dont regret missing out on the EX7 much, this thing is F***** AWESOME.......i am studying 3d animations and this beast sure doesnt get intimated. while the ordering process went very smoothly the end part of the deal went a bit awry. I guess in such a case there wasnt anybody to blame but i reckon cos it was thanksgiving week, but i got a call from fedex stating that my computer had come before hypersonic gave me the tracking info. which turned out to be pretty sweet on an afterthought cos i didnt have to check the fedex site everytime checking the status.
Anyways i'll end this here, my quick summary, after working on this for 20 days i am satisfied. i would recomend hypersonic to other people, i will most definately stick with them for further purchases."
"Well it has been 3 months since I received my Hypersonic GX-7, and I have nothing but praise for this notebook.
I contacted Hypersonic on March 12th of this year, and spoke with Paul Pyz about the configuration, and asked numerous questions concerning the perfect gaming notebook. Paul was very helpful and had an answer for all of my questions and was very knowledgable about their products. Ordering was a breeze, and I really enjoyed talking w/Paul who made the experience fun and exciting....Something you will not find w/most pc makers.
The hardest part of course is the wait....We've all been there before, but its just part of the deal. Expected delivery was 30-45 days(including 2 weeks for paint), but it took around 60 because of the lack of 3.4s that were available at the time. No big deal to me....and they shipped it for free overnight because of the delay and reimbursed my account promptly within a day or two!! Thanks!!
After receiving my machine, I was speechless. The paint was flawless and of very high quality. It was like a mirror...Incredible job guys, and the flake is awesome!
Cranking it up gave me the shivers. It started up with no problems and has run flawlessly ever since!! Not a single problem period....I've owned a Voodoo that had to be sent back 3 times and still wouldn't run, so I got the refund and took my money elsewhere.
Tech support...Heck I couldn't tell ya! I haven't had a single issue w/my GX-7. I'm sure if their support staff is as good as their product, that shouldn't be an issue at all. Maybe someday I'll have to give them a call..LOL..
Anyone considering a Hypersonic should give them a ring. I stress this notbook everyday with numerous different applications and even have the video card overclocked(not recommended of course)...and not a single problem!!
Kudos to Hypersonic for building one heck of a machine!!

"#1-Ordering Process/Sales Dept.:
Ordering process is simple and streamlined. Did most of my configuration on the web. Called in with a question-phones answered promptly. Staff was knowledgeable and pleasant mannered.
#2-Waiting/Order Status:
Got a painted laptop with a 4 week lead time. Waiting was definitely hard, but whenever I called to check status the reps were friendly and informative, even though I must have become a nuisance after a while—they never showed frustration or aggravation, which was nice.
#3-Shipping/Customer Service:
Originally ordered 2 day shipping. System was originally slated to ship on a Thursday, but was running one day behind schedule. Received a call on Tuesday to inform me that the system would be shipping on Friday rather than Wednesday. Normally would have been fine with this, but was leaving on business trip and needed the system shipped that Wed. so I could have it before I left the state. Spoke with customer svc. supervisor. Informed her of my situation—she was very obliging. Told me that they would do their best to have my laptop shipped out on Wed. but they wouldn’t skimp on the testing. She told me they wanted to be sure that I got a great laptop w/o any problems. But, she realized that I needed my system for my business trip and offered to have it overnited (free of charge) to where I was staying if they could not meet the Thursday deadline. They definitely went above and beyond to ensure that I would have my laptop for my trip. (They managed to get it shipped on Thursday and overnited it to my home so that I would have it when I left on Friday.).
#4-Packaging/Out of box impressions:
System arrived on Friday morning (perfect timing). Was nervous that after the waiting, I would find some sort of shipping damage, since I know that the shipping companies are not always the careful. Thankfully, hypersonic knows how to pack a box to the point where they could ship a dozen eggs and they’d arrive safe and sound. The laptop was very well secured with a great deal of packing materials. After digging through packaging, I found my perfectly painted red AX7. Everyone in the house from my technophobe wife to my 14 year old daughter and my 3 year old son gathered around to oooh and ahh. The paint was so striking that my 3 year old tried to lick it. Powered the system up and was immediately able to load my data on it and start working. Honestly, I think my family was more upset to see the laptop leave on my business trip then they were to see me go!
#5-Technical Support:
Called support regarding configuring my video out for multi-monitor setup and I was competently walked through the process. The tech also gave me a few tips about the various options on the display menu which was above and beyond what i had asked for.
#6- Final thoughts:
While this was by no means a cheap laptop, I’m convinced I got the most out of my $ by going with Hypersonic. I have not had one second thought since the day I placed my order. Laptop has been superior to any computer product I have ever purchased—not only in looks but in function as well. The staff is always helpful, friendly and cooperative. I can honestly say buying from Hypersonic was a pleasant way to spend a few thousand hard earned dollars. They are definitely on my list of companies to recommend to friends, colleagues and total strangers without hesitation. And anyone who can get my wife interested in computers gets a lot of gratitude from me.

"I don't think many people doubt the quality of Hypersonic's products. They have a great rep amoung gamers and are considered to be a high quality reseller and the maker of some serious equipment. I place them right with all the high-end shops...although they usually have better pricing. I think the biggest question with them is making their deadlines and keeping customers informed along the way. I knew this going into my purchase, and that's pretty much what I expected. Well, I got my very high quality laptop with everything correct and in a nice neat order. It's fast, it looks good...and it had everything I ordered in working condition...tested and configured just like they said. I am very happy with my purchase! And they only missed the ship date twice ;) Would certainly buy from again..."
"I just received my new Aviator Ax7 and it is simply amazing. The screen is perfect, and the glossy coating gives it the appearance of depth. Overall the machine is incredibly fast taking less time than it usually takes me to plug it in to boot up fully into windows XP.
As you can imagine it gets very warm when playing games, but as i was aware of this when ordering it doesnt really bother me. and it loves to play games, i havent tried doom3 or farcry yet, but nothing else ive tried has slowed it down at all.
the fans (when they are on) are rather noisy, but the speakers (there are 6) seem to be able to put out enough sound to drown out the noise.
the ordering process was very easy, after searching what seemed like every possible notebook reseller, i eventually decided on hypersonic, and started to select componenets. half an hour later i had exactly what i needed, and i placed my order, i decided to pay by check and the next day i mailed it out to them.
after recieving two phone calls (one to confirm order, and the other the confirm payment) they began to work on the construction. took about 3 weeks before it shipped and during this time i was told NOTHING other than that my machine was on schedule and would be shipped at the expected date. as you can imagine after paying almost 3000 dollars i wanted a little more detail, but hey i just decided to learn to be patient and i only tried to get info 3 times during the three weeks.
it shipped exactly when they said it would, and arrived next day (even though i ordered 2-3 day).
during shipping the cd drive connector somehow got knocked loose, but simply removing the drive and reinstalling it in the case fixed the problem.
Overall the best computer ive owned and a very simple and efficient if somewhat uninformative ordering process. based on my experiences and the product i received i highly recommend hypersonic if you are looking for a high end system."
"Hypersonic Sonicboom Reflexxion Series (Desktop)
Purchasing:
When I purchased Hypersonic’s flagship computer system, I was generally happy with the product in which I received. I ordered the system with a guarantee from my sales representative that if I purchased the ‘ship within 10 days of order’ feature, that I would have it within the time frame I required the system. Overnight shipping was also added to the order to meet up with my end of the required date. However, upon day of shipment, I inquired if my system was going to ship the day as planned but was told it would not due to technical issues. I’m guessing that they had no plan to inform me that my shipment was delayed. The next business day, I spoke with my sale representative again and we found a way to still get the computer here the same day which would meet my deadline. However, Hypersonic would not pay the difference in shipping to make it on the deadline after they were at fault for missing the deadline in the first place hence the agreed deadline was not met. However, The online sales representative I worked with to order the system did an excellent job to find the exact product I was looking for.
Delivery:
Upon delivery, there were two system components that were not even functional. One, I fixed by flipping a cable and the other was not fixed until one year later after the ship date when I had to ship the system in for repairs due to nature damage. From internal cabling to the Reflexxion series painted case, the systems performance and appearance were excellent.
Service Repair:
During a particular storm, lightning made it through my UPS system and damaged my computer in a way that it would not turn on. I sent the computer back to Hypersonic even though the warranty had expired on my system. It took roughly a week for Hypersonic to even look at my computer once in their possession. When the job was finished, I was not contacted as stated I would be when the system was analyzed. Instead, I had to call several times to find the status on the system. One if the times in which I called, they did not even know where my system was. I was also told that there was a flat fee for labor on the system repair but it ended up being roughly 250% higher for labor than stated, not to mention the system component replaced was marked up about 200%. Time from shipment to delivery on the system was two weeks, excluding a holiday in the middle and shipping times. I can’t even image how the service would have been if it had been warranty work.
Service Repair Delivery:
The state in which I received the system back from service repair was completely unsatisfactory. The system was not re-cabled as I was told it would be, one component of my system was completely left out after reassembly, and another component was nonfunctional. The component that was left out, even though uncritical, was mailed to me another two weeks later and appeared to be a generic version of what was left out. Hypersonic requested that I ship the system back to repair nonfunctional component, also uncritical, which would have taken another two weeks since they would not have paid for express shipping. Therefore, I will repair the component at my own cost.
Overall:
The product quality I received on the original shipment would have been quite excellent had a system component not been properly installed. I would recommend Hypersonic only if you do not mind waiting as system builds and service repairs take an abnormally long time. For mission critical roles, I would not recommend Hypersonic computer systems. Either way, I will never recommend Hypersonic’s technical support department."
"I have been looking forward to writing this review! I choose Hypersonic over all the other "high-end" sellers because they had good components, a cool box, and a reasonable price for what I wanted. After much gnashing of teeth, I settled on a SoniCube. After a month of waiting, it finally arrived and I'm using it to relate this review!
The sales people were nice and patient with people like me who weren't so patient waiting. They tried to work with me on getting my computer a little earlier than the time they originally alloted.
I got it up and running right away and everything has gone smoothly, so I would call this a successful event. I would definitely deal with Hypersonic again... though I'd have to rethink the long, painful 30 day wait that is standard with all the highend sellers.
"
"A very good experience. Sales could be a little more informative about the state of my order. All I could ever get out of them was 'everything is on schedule' - right up to my scheduled ship date, when they told me it could be another week. If you need to have your order by a specific date, make sure you give them plenty of lead time."
