"I was having a problem with my HP laptop which was determined to possibly be my battery. After being sent an incorrect battery at the cost of $130 by an HP rep, having to return it and then being sent to another dept only to find out they no longer had what I needed, I was referred to Impact Computers. From my very first contact with them, I received awesome customer service. First of all they were able to find what I needed at a much more resonable cost. Then Melissa kept me up to date both by phone and by email every step of the way with what was going on with my order. It has been the best customer service I have received in quite some time. "I came in to order a replacement dc jack for my laptop. I spoke to Raul Nolasco, and he was very helpful in finding the right part for me along with the ac adapter needed to fit the dc jack. It was a bit challenging to figure out the part but he was patient and willing to help me out. It's hard to find customer service like that, and I believe Raul is a big asset to the customer. I will definitely recommend anyone who goes to impact computers to deal with him,"

"Eh. Probably a company with good intentions that is growing too fast for their own good. I needed a part that was listed on the website. It said it "usually ships" next day. That was fine. I tried to use the chat to see if it was definitely in stock so I went to use the live chat and Raul left me sitting for over 10minutes. Strike 1

I don't have time to sit there. I ordered the part, and got a receipt. I ordered it for next day air expecting it to ship the next day. 3 days later, no news. I tried the live chat again and "Raul" left me sitting for over 10 minutes with no replies. Strike 2.

I then called and spoke to a rep who was friendly but not helpful. She told me that the part had to be ordered in and it would be 3-5 days from when I ordered it for them to get it and then I would get it shipped to me. Strike 3.

I find that poor practice. I ordered it Next Day Air. That 'usually' (using their favorite word) means it is needed expeditiously. The company I work for sells parts of a different type and if a part needs to be ordered in for our customer and the customer requests next day shipping, we contact them to notify them of the delay and see if there is anything else we can do.

There is a method of shipping called Drop-Shipment, or Blind Shipment, where they have the part shipped from their distributor to me rather than sending it all over the place and wasting my time.

I should thank them though. I was able to find the same part for less money much closer.


Since Impact reads this page, let me explain something about supply chains to you.

When someone orders a part next-day, it means they need it next day. If you can't do that, then you should contact the customer to discuss the situation. This is known as customer service. I have spent a total of 30minutes accomplishing nothing. Your company actually cost me money by dealing with you. We are a large company and I hoped to start a long profitable relationship. That will not happen.

I wont bore the readers with the rest of my complaints, but as a tech professional for over 15 years, I can say that anyone else should take the extra time to read the reviews about this place. I wish I had. After reading about the guy who had his laptop stolen and they just thumbed their noses, I should have known better.

On the whole this place isn't very professional. We have budgeted well over $10K a month to purchase parts and I like to use as few distributors as possible. Thank fully I found National Parts Depot. Check them out.

My largest complaint is that I was not contacted about the delay. Poor communication is a huge hassle for all involved.

"one of our customers servers went down, on a Thurs. evening, they needed a "unicorn" of a power supply. i discovered impact computers, they had the power supply in stock and melissa was very helpful and had it to us the next day. we've been using them ever since for all our hard-to-find replacements. the web site is very user friendly and they are always eager to help. our most recent order went as smoothly too.

"I ordered a hard drive for my HP from here. While it was after hours on Thursday nite, I called Friday mornign to make sure it'd be delivered Saturday. I was assured it would be and I requested they e-mail me the tracking number at that time. i called early afternoon on Friday to confirm it'd be sent out and that they'd e-mail the tracking number. I was assured by Mellisa that all that would happen.
It's now 7:50pm ,friday and no word from this place. Nothing at all. If I don't have it Saturday, it'll get sent back as I won't be home on Monday.

I did check on all that last night. Had it been shipped in the AM when I requested, I'd have it by now. I also do not appreciate being laughed at while discussing this with the second time. UPS usually picks stuff up by no later than 5pm local time.------I stand by my statement

It's nice to know that you picked a carrier that cann't even deliver a 1 lb package 1900 miles in 4 days. I will be needing a COMPLETE REFUND. I have to leave about 7am central time on Monday 2/14 You could have avoided this had you sent it by USPS next day air. The weather here was not so bad that this delivery could not have been made. ABerdeen is 100 miles from where I live. 2 hours at the most drive.
