"The shopping cart for the Kits website is mighty frustrating because if you close your browser window (let alone, come back a day or two later), the items in your shopping cart have all disappeared when you log back into the site. This is quite a hassle, given that you have to enter your prescription again every time you put frames in the cart and there is no way to save your prescription on the website, as is common among many other sellers of eyeglasses (I’ve tried quite a few of them).
The other major hassle I encountered is that I got odd error messages for discount codes that provided no clue about why they didn’t work (example error code: “minimum of $10 Labor Day Sale glasses required in the cart” when the cart actually had $58 of product in it). I got mysterious error messages twice when attempting to use a discount code and had to engage customer service via chat. That person was helpful and did get me a discount code that would work, but it was a LOT more time consuming than it needed to be.
I also encountered an issue when entering my billing address where the slot to enter my country (in this case, the U.S.) wouldn’t accommodate enough characters to type "United States," even though the spot for the shipping address did allow for the entire country name via a drop-down menu. I finally just typed USA since the longer version (used for shipping) would not work.
In short, it’s time-intensive to finish an order on this website since things don’t work the way the way most ecommerce sites work. I’ll also note that while this isn’t an error, the site loads VERY slowly while you’re searching and shopping. Since Google ranks sites partially on the basis of load times, it would be smart to speed things up, if possible.
