"My husband purchased an Aeron chair for me from Madison Seating for Christmas which means he placed the order a week or so before Christmas. The chair was assembled after Christmas when I noticed that there was no forward tilt mechanism. The hole was there but no lever. I also did not like the Posture Fit after using it. I have this chair at work with the Lumbar support and it is fully adjustable in every way. This chair was not fully adjustable without this mechanism. I used the chair for a couple of weeks before contacting Madison Seating by phone. I told the agent on the phone I was not happy with the posture fit and wanted to receive credit for the Posture Fit upgrade and receive the Lumbar support mechanism, which is part of the basic chair price. I was told I had to write an email to their customer support dept. I sent the email and received a canned response that I was over my 30 days and, therefore, they could not work with my return/exchange request. Let me say that my email acknowledged this fact but that I was hoping that they, like many other companies, would recognize the Christmas time frame and extend return policies during that time to allow for these items, purchased as gifts, to be assembled and tested by the intended recipient. But, "no" this was not a case. A canned, impersonal response was returned that I could purchase the item from another Internet re-seller if I wished but they could not help me. I find this to be very poor customer service and the fact that they are selling the item if a different configuration to the public is very misleading if you are not intimately familiar with all the features of the chair (and most are not). They do sell at a reduced price but "buyer beware" that it may not be the same product as sold at full price at another store. They claim to be to have "outstanding customer service" and a "satisfaction guarantee" - both, in my opinion, they do not have!"

"Purchased Steelcase Leap 2 chair from Madison Seating as Christmas gift for my husband. It was ~$400 cheaper than from Steelcase (already a win!). The chair arrived 10 days later as was promised, but the gas cylinder was broken. Emailed the support, received the reply and a phone call 2 hours later. They sent a new gas cylinder, we had troubles replacing it, emailed the support again. Again, received a call in 2 hours after I sent the email, received suggestions, we tried them the same night and now the chair has no problems and my husband is very happy! Overall, very good experience, awesome customer care: patient, prompt and helpful. I am very happy. Highly recommended!"
"DO NOT order anything from this company. They charge your credit card immediately, then don't deliver. No follow up, no one contacts you. They just write themselves a no interest loan on YOUR credit card, then leave it to you to beg for your merchandise. Worst online shopping experience I've ever had. I've been waiting three months while they enjoy the $3,000 they charged me without delivering a thing. Bad, bad business people. Is there such a thing as a NEGATIVE STAR?"

"I ordered a chair on 12/20/2014. I have called three times to find out the status of my chair and have been told each time that the chair would be shipped out tomorrow. I have not received the chair and no indication from FedEx that the chair has even been picked up. Today is 1/8/2015
Following my writing the above review, I was contacted by a responsible sales person at Madison Seating who assured me that he would personally make sure my chair was shipped the next day. He actually did assume responsibility and actually shipped out the chair the next day. He then called several days later to make sure that I had received the chair and if I was happy. He then called again to send me a gift as compensation for the inconvenience. Had the Store simply followed the lead of this gentleman, I never would have written the original review. I understand the Christmas rush and would have fine if they had simply let me know of the delay. I also understand salesmen telling me, but I expect them to follow up and make sure it happens. In my company, a salesman would not with me if they lied to the customer. A good reputation is hard to get and easy to lose. My compliments to the 3rd salesman. So all in all, I raised my rating from 1 star to 3 stars, I am not so sure that others would be so forgiving. "
"I've seen some reviews of this place that are either very negative or so overly complimentary I doubt their authenticity. Here's a real review from a real person who ordered 12 chairs from these guys over 2 orders.
First things first, I received all my chairs. They were in the condition indicated, in the style indicated. None arrived damaged.
After I placed my order, I was informed that there was not enough stock to fill the entire order, but was informed of a slightly different model at the same price. I ok'd the change, and the alternates arrived without issue.
There are two main things that need improvement in my experience: stock level management and fulfillment speed. Your e-commerce software needs to be aware of current stock levels and prevent customers from over-ordering. On the fulfillment speed side, I can't understand why something should have to sit in a warehouse for 2 weeks before shipping. This is confusing to your customers and gives them the sense that they're getting ripped off.
They do have some of the best prices around, I did eventually get my products, but there are some improvements needed to make this a truly world-class online experience."

"I am updating this review: A supervisor from Madison seating contacted me and went through my issues with me. They sent me a new chair with the options I expected in my original order free of charge and made arrangements for me to return the original chair free of charge. They went above and beyond to resolve the issue and I appreciate this effort. I still feel the first line customer service was lacking in their desire to help with my issue or consider my position but I will give them the benefit of the doubt. Still up in the air if I will shop with them again.
This company was initially hard to deal with. I didn't feel I got what I ordered and dealing with them to try and resolve the issue was difficult. I tried to work with them to get the correct option and was even willing to pay more for it but they were inflexible and unhelpful. They did contact me later and we worked it out."
"This is probably my worst ever online purchase experience. I ordered a Aaron Chair as a Christmas present. It arrived in two pieces. The back of the chair and the bottom are of two different sizes. It happens, people make mistakes. No big deal. I contacted them and they were helpful; providing me with a return shipping label and asked me to send it back and they will send replacement once the package is in transit. That was six days ago. Every time I called, they said it will go out today.
Very disappointing experience. They didn't try to make things right. Made me feel like it's my fault to bother them.
Update: I did receive the chair and got a call from the manager to apologize. They also sent me a head rest to make up for the trouble. "
"The Steelcase Leap chair I ordered came as promised, and has been very comfortable! The chair had a strong factory smell when it arrived (similar to a "new car smell"), and the chair fabric tends to attract lint and pet hair, but these issues are minor compared to the overall quality of the chair.
