"They're disingenuous and misleading with their website & individual customer service people I spoke with. More than once I was told it would arrive within 10 business days or ordering. It didn't. It took 16 and that was after complaining 3 days in a row.
When I called to find out why it didn't arrive, I was told they were overloaded with a sale and it would arrive tomorrow. Twice I was told that. Both lies.
When I finally spoke with a manager, she tried to get me to cancel the order. Then after I wouldn't & after she had told me it would arrive the next day, she yelled to someone to find out if it was actually going out that night. Seems like she should have done that before telling me it was.
To add insult to injury, they don't clearly say on the product page that the chair might actually be heavily used & refurbished or defective returns that have been "fixed".
Additionally their "free" shipping is not free if you return the chair within the 30 day "100% satisfaction" period. If you're not 100% satisfied, you need to pay for return shipping & you're charged $150 for that original free shipping... so much for the 100% satisfaction.
As it turned out, my chair seems to be in pretty good shape. And the chair price was low, but the misleading & sneaky policies with "free" shipping & 100% satisfaction program leads me to mark poor for cost of services.
This company lies & misleads at every turn, but I lucked out. Buyer beware x2"
"After buying chairs from Office Max over the years that never seemed to suit me well enough, I decided to look at buying a Haworth. I couldn't believe the bargain that your company was offering -- a Haworth for $159.00 dollars! Wow!
The reason that I didn't entertain buying one in the past is because I heard through office conversation that they were really expensive ... from $300.00 to $500.00 dollars and that was too expensive for me to justify so I never bothered looking.
However, recently, I just got fed up with the chairs that I have in my house. I wanted a chair in which I could sit comfortably for a prolonged period of time so I decided to look for the Haworth online, even if it was at high cost. That's when I found your site.
I didn't need a fancy chair. I just wanted it to be a Haworth chair. I've never had any problems sitting in this chair for hours at a time at work. Sure, one should get up every now and again from any chair, but the Haworth is by far the most comfortable for me. Anyway, thank you for carrying such a fine product for such a great price!"

bought an aeron chair from them in september - great price and was at my door 7 days later (in new mexico).
prior to ordering, i did some research and read a few really negative reviews, so i was a little apprehensive.
but, i think if we only hear the negatives, no business would survive!

You call them to ask them about the status of an order they will tell you its been shipped or it will be shipped today only for you to find out that a week later it is still in their warehouse. "This is THE WORST company to do business with. I ordered one table and they informed me that my card was declined. It in fact did decline due to my bank putting a "security hold" on the card. I called my bank and they removed the hold. I then called Madison Seating back and told them to re-run the card. Again, they informed me that the card declined for a second time. I waited a few days after not hearing from them, and decided to try to order the table again, and this time it went through successfully. 2 days later I found out that they had charged me for two tables and sent me two tables. I only wanted one, and the cost of the table was $639.99. They told me in order to send it back, I had to make my own arrangements, as they do not provide a return service. I was quoted $474.78 for shipping, and Madison Seating charged me a "re-stocking fee" of 30% ($192.00). This brought my total to $666.78. Do NOT do business with this company. There's a reason they only have 3 stars out of 142 ratings!!!!"
"I ordered a loaded Aeron chair from Madison Seating.
After the order I realized I needed it shipped after a specific date. I contacted them thru their orders email address and they adjusted the shipping date. The chair arrived when I needed it.
The chair was packed really well. I only had to put the back on the seat/base. The chair came with assembly instructions & a booklet showing me what all the knobs and levers were for.
After assembling the chair I realized the headrest was missing. I contacted Madison Seating that night via email. I also called them in the morning & they stated that the headrest was being shipped out right away.
I received it 2 days later.

the chair never got there and then after much trouble I was refunded $668.99. When I called them about this they said they tried to get it to me but something went wrong in delivery and so I am still charged $125.00 for the attempted delivery. Now thats a business I want to get into. charge people $125.0 for nothing.
I am going to talk about this to any one who cares to read it . I was ripped off, they were rude and basically said that I was lucky that that was all they took off of refund for what is their fault. "I would rate zero stars if it were possible. I paid $700.00 for an "open box" Leap V2 chair and received a used, broken (seat adjustment lever broken off) chair that was covered in some type of orange film and improperly packaged. There were gouge marks all over the bottom of the seat where it looked like someone used a screwdriver (repeatedly) to try and remove the seat bottom. Any damage that was done to this chair in shipment was obviously caused by their poor packaging and I let UPS know this after the company filed a bogus damage claim with UPS! I sent the chair back and was told they would send a check instead of issuing a credit to my charge card. If I wanted an immediate credit, it would be less the 3% fee that Amex charged them to use my card! Amex didn't agree with that, obviously and they are now investigating this company's practices. Totally rude, unprofessional staff who argue instead or resolving issues. I wish I would have done more research before buying from this company as there are a TON of negative reviews online. It appears at least 40% of the people who do business with them are unsatisfied. Looks like the site with the greatest percentage of good reviews is theirs. Go figure! Do yourself a favor and spend more money for a new chair with a factory warranty. There is a big difference between "open box" and USED. Steelcase and all of their dealers ship for free. "
