"Simply stated Max Tool La Verne, CA, AKA DuroMax Generators have the worst customer service in the industry. Purchased a DuroMax generator last year finally used it during Sandy and it ran flawlessly for the first two tank full of gas. The third time the generator would not run at maximum speed. Idle control is defective. Called Max Tool customer service 4 times. 4 times I was told someone would get back to me. Still waiting. They had no problem taking my order and money efficiently."
"Hurricane Sandy just swept through and we decided it was time to own a generator. Since Max Tool was an Amazon seller, we figured it was a good company - we were wrong. We placed an order for one generator and were charged 3 times. We emailed the company and they told us that there was only one order and we'd receive shipment information. We never received shipment information and our card was still charged three times for one item. We called the company NUMEROUS times and were told each time that they would have someone call us back. No one ever called us back. We ended up having to dispute the charges through our bank. We will never order from this company again and I recommend you do the same. "

I recently ordered a new XP4400E Generator - Hurricane Sandy was on it's way so I fired it up - the directions are a bit lacking but we got it assembled and running - Breaker keeps shutting off and Volt Meter never gets above 20 Volts - now this is obviously a defective unit, and, while I was annoyed I was still ready for a positive outcome from their Customer Service - boy was I wrong - I called yesterday morning and was told that Technical Support would call me back - they never did - I called back yesterday afternoon and was PROMISED that Tech Support would call me back - they never did - I tried again last night and I'm still waiting - JUST tried the 800 # and it's not working - looks like I now have a $400 outdoor paperweight :-("

They may have the lowest "advertised" price on Dewalt tools, but their customer service and order follow up is the worst I have ever dealt with.

I placed an order over the phone for the Dewalt DCK491L2 to verify product was available,estimated arrival time and that it was early enough to ship that day.
I was told yes they had plenty of the kits, 5 days transit time, and it would leave that day.
That was Tuesday morning.
By 7pm Thursday no tracking number or confirmation but the money was taken from account instantly after order was placed on Tuesday. Was given a jerkme around excuse that payment hadnt been transferred from PayPal (BS) and that they would send it on over.
Was told they would ship and send tracking info.
Here it is Friday eve, still no shipment confirmation, no tracking info. I call to cancel the order and they tell me it shipped Thursday and they couldnt supply info yet as they havent received it.
Lies again. Anybody who ships UPS INSTANTLY receives tracking number and transit eta.
The dont give a sh*t if you arent happy attitude of the customer service reps is like dealing with gubbermint employees in a tax office.
Pay the few bucks extra, and go with a local dealer who will treat you with dignity after the sale.
If you depend on your tools to make a living as I do, dont make the mistake I have and order from these Kalifornia Krooks.

As a follow up, the salesmen will flat out lie to you.
The order was just shipped today, after telling me that it was in stock, and that it would ship that day a week ago.
I spoke to several of them, all gave me the same bs.
What is worse I called last Friday to cancel the order for a refund, and they told me it had already shipped.
The order wasnt filled til this eve, and didnt leave the City of Industry til tonight.
The positive reviews online are obviously purchased to make them look good, as it is the worst company I have ever purchased tools from.
Read the negative reviews on pricegrabber and others, as they are much more to the truth.

"It was easy to buy the tool and the web site was well set up. If I had known that I could have received free shipping, I may have purchased another item. Didn't see the free shipping until after I made my purchase. So maybe some other placement or colors needed on the free shipping notice. The site also said it would sent me emails on my purchase and on the shipping data. The emails showed up on the day of the actual delivery, so that system needs to be improved!! Overall though--I am very satisfied. Fast shipping!"
