"It seems I was scammed by this seller. I got only one message "there was a delay until early next week." on 7/30/2007. I finally emailed them a order cancellation on 8/10/2007 and there is no answer until now.
Today, I visited the bank and a counselor told me wait til one month from order (8/23/2007) and if the goods are not delivered from seller until that day, we can sue them to refund by a formal trial.

"I payed extra for shipping so my Flash Card would arrive at latest by the 6th, and still have not received it. I've tried calling them, going through the support, and e-mailing one of the guys that said he'd personally fix people's issues and still no word. So I filed a claim with my bank and the BBB as well. Oh and when I payed for it there was no mention of them being backordered, and the next day they updated their site to show that they are backordered... on everything coincidentally. "

"DO NOT USE MODCHIPSTORE.com !!

Like the others said, they charged my credit card immediately instead of waiting till they were ready to ship. They haven't replied to any enquiries. I paid $23.93 to have my order shipped with DHL Express 1-3 Days and have not received ANYTHING. No goods, no tracking number, no support replies. I normally wouldn't panic after only a week but then I heard about Operation Tangled Web so it's most likely not bad customer service, it's simply that they've been shut down but their site it still up and running collecting orders they'll never be able to fill.. if this is the case I feel sorry for you guys but not sorry enough to give you $148.88 and forget about it!

I have since tried to cancel my order and have not received any confirmation.

I now have to escalate this with my card issuer.

HERE ARE SOME TIPS ON WHAT YOUR RIGHTS ARE

Regardless of merit, the issuing bank is obligated to investigate complaints from cardholders, including:

* The Merchant never delivered the goods and services they promised.
* The cardholder never ordered the goods that showed up on her credit card bill.
* The cardholder received the goods and services, but they didn't meet their expectations, so they wanted a refund.


In these circumstances, the issuing bank initiates a Retrieval Request and/or a Chargeback to resolve the matter.

Traditionally, the dispute process begins with a Retrieval Request that asks for documentation.
1. The Acquiring Bank sends a Retrieval Request (often called simply a Retrieval) to the Merchant. Sometimes, they start with a chargeback and skip the Retrieval Request altogether.
2. The retrieval asks for proof that the Merchant delivered the disputed goods or services to the cardholder.
3. When the Merchant provides proof that they delivered the goods or services to the cardholder, the Acquiring Bank forwards it to the Issuing Bank who informs the cardholder. The proof is usually a document (delivery receipt, credit card receipt and/or your store receipt) signed by the cardholder.

"Do NOT buy from this seller!!!!!! They have not answered one message I have sent, they have no Phone number to call them, thier live on line support is a joke. I paid for 2 day DHL and never got a tracking #. I finally emailed them a order cancelation and I will go to my bank and do a charge back.
I reordered through modchipcentral.com and I recieved a shipping information and tracking # the same day as the order.

"It took quite a while to receive the shipment, due to a backorder issue (about a month). When the items arrived, the quantities were correct--we received what we paid for.

However, one of the items was DOA, and it's been difficult to get some sort of response from the retailer regard what we should do about it. My support ticket for this is JIQ-932518.

"These guys are scammers. I'm convinced that any positive rating they received on here were put here by people affiliated with them.
Anybody saying that their customer service is great.....you're out of your mind.

I ordered a chip from them on July 11th. I contacted them regarding my order and it's whereabouts on the 26th. No reply. I contacted them again on the 31st. No reply. I finally got tired of this and contacted their sales, shipping and cacellation departments on the 1st of August requesting cancellation of my order and a refund. Surprise surprise...no answer.

So I contacted my bank and they're going to credit my money back to me.

I ended up ordering from a canadian place modchipcentral.com and have had nothing but good dealings with them. As a matter of fact I received my order in the mail today. 3 days from ordering to receiving. FROM CANADA!!!! Awesome service!

Stay away from modchipstore.com though. Scammers like no other.

"I ordered a modchip "BYOC" on Oct 6 2006 they shipped it to me on November 25 2006...some other PSP that was broken...I sent it back and have been haggling with them from the end of last year until now. Be aware of this store and ensure that you constantly contact them because they wont contact you. IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING PURCHASING FROM THIS COMPANY "GO TO ANOTHER COMPANY" IS WHAT I PRESCRIBE. I am nearly one year into haggling with them...and it is not worth it...I just complained to the BBB... "

"I tried to order a product from this company on the 12th of July. The company stated the product was in stock and will ship within 24 hours. I purchased said product and paid extra for the 2nd day air shipping. A week passed and I never got a tracking number. The status of the product was still processed. I checked my credit card and they charged it the same day I purchased the product. I submitted several support tickets and they only responded to one saying they had a bad batch of the product and it will ship in the middle of the next week, which is understandable. It is now over 2 weeks later and I cannot even get them to respond to my emails or open tickets. The company charged me and I never received my product. Thanks Modchipstore for the great experience. Be aware of this, this has obviously happened numerous times. "

"I ordered a wiikey thinking it was instock since it obviously states on their site that they do have inventory in this product. After placing my order they charged my CC the next day. I get an email saying my order is processed.

Just like everyone else, 2 days roll by and I never get a DHL notice or shipment (i paid for the 2-day. I open a ticket regarding my shipping/tracking info. No response. I couldn't find a number on the site. I search google to find a forum talking about modchipstore.com and how terrible they are. After reading this I opened up another ticket asking for my order to be cancelled.

Also, I found an email address (****@****) to a "Jarret" on the forum. He was responding on behalf of modchipstore and told the forum to email him directly on any issues. I email him on friday, no response yet (as of monday morning).

I will keep opening up tickets until I get some response. modchipstore.com is a pathetic excuse for a company and should never be dealt with. NEVER USE THIS SITE FOR ANYTHING


After several tickets and emails to jarrett, I finally got ahold of them. Jarrett emails back letting me know that we was unable to access mail over the weekend, even though my 1st email and ticket were placed on friday morning at 6:00am PST. He said they will cancel my order and it will take 3-8 days to get my money back.

I am hoping I will get my money back after 2 weeks with this company.

AGAIN, NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS "COMPANY"

"I'm not sure why I didn't believe everyone in here who said that this store will not reply to your emails.....OK I believe you all now. It has happenned to me. I ordered the Wiikey and these guys said its in stock and ships in 24 hours...Well this is a big LIE! What they did in 24 hours is that they charged my credit card!!! And now I have already sent them several emails, with no REPLY whatsoever!
Absolutely terrible customer service. What they are trying to do is put the customer on the spot. They don't want to lose business by showing the item is out of stock, so they trick you into it. They quickly charge your credit card before you can cancel and there you are STUCK with them! I guess they are expecting a shipment anytime and they are just trying to buy some time (I hope that this is the real reason!!!!). But that is not the way to treat customers!!
Anyway I will call my bank and dispute this charge, I don't want to deal with this scam store again! As the previous reviewer said, take you business else where!!

UPDATE 1:
This is very funny, I saw that paragraph (quoted below) in their 'How to cancel an order' FAQ, they are so fast you don't even have a chance to cancel!!!!

"...You can send a support ticket to the ORDER department at ****@****
It MUST include your name, order number and specifics on cancelations.
This MUST be received by 3 PM Eastern Time to cancel a order. We will always try to accomodate your request, but due to our speedy processing it may not always be available to do so and your order might have already shipped."

UPDATE 2:
After almost 1 week I managed to get a reply saying, ok fine we will cancel!!! They didn't even told me why. Anyway maybe they are not scam, but they surely wasted my time as I could have got my order if I went with someone else!!! Yet to see my money refunded to my credit card though, will wait on that before ordering again.

UPDATE 3:
The store refunded my money and now its back in my account. I ended up buying from modchipcentral.com, they are based in Canada and dont have a page in here. They actually did ship my order the next day as advertised and they are also cheaper than modchipstore. Took 5 days for my order to arrive via Canada Post.

"First shipment worked briefly and then failed. I attempted to contact the manufacturer for support and received none. When I opened a ticket with ModChipStore.com they were quick to respond and easy to deal with. They were happy to help me resolve the issue and sent me a replacement after verification of the failure I claimed. They did not charge me any additional shipping. I would definitely do business with them again."

"I ordered a WiiKey on the 12th (a Thursday). The website listed the product as "In-stock: Ships within 24 hours". My order showed up as "Processed", note that they do not have a "Shipped" status.

I opened a ticket on the 16th to inquire if "Processed" meant "Shipped" and to find out if my order had shipped. The reply was that they were out of the item and it should ship on Wed or Thur. They closed my ticket.

I opened a new ticket and asked that they either ship my order no later than Wed, if they ship it on Thur to updgrade me to next day at their expense or refund my money. I gave them 24 hours to have someone call me and explain what would be done or I would file a fraud complaint with my bank.

I paid extra to have 2 day shipping, and they delayed my order.

They do not list a phone number anywhere on the website or WHOIS information (I did get a phone number from the credit card statement, it's ***-***-****). Their only support chat is always either Offline or Away and they close your tickets without trying to discover the real issue.

As of now, the "Out of Stock" WiiKii is still listed as "In Stock: Ships within 24 hours"

At best, this is a VERY poorly run company. At best, it is outright fraud.

I am filing a complaint of fraud with the credit card company as soon as I am finished with this posting.

Do NOT use this company at all!

"I am yet another very dissatified customer of the ModChipStore. I placed my order 3 weeks ago, the website said the item was in stock and would ship within 24 hours. I paid extra for the 2 day shipping. One week ago I opened a support ticket because I still hadn't received my item and the status still showed "In Process". The next day they responded saying this item has shipped, a DHL tracking # was assigned. As of today a week later this item still has not been delivered to DHL to begin shipping. I would caution anyone from purchasing from this store. Don't be another sucker. "
