"Monarch had my motherboard in stock before any other e-tailer. I needed the board and CPU fairly soon, so I was a little disappointed to find that they didn't work at processing orders on weekends. I thought that would put my motherboard and CPU two days behind the stuff I ordered from Newegg. Guess what -- on Monday morning, Monarch processed and shipped my order in a few hours, and it arrived on my front porch only 48 hours later, right along with the Newegg order. I am VERY highly satisfied with Monarch. I'll be a regular customer."

"Waited 8 days to get my video card to find out that it's broken. Not broken from shipping because the package was very well packed. Didn't even need to open the package to realize that it was broken because chips/screws/parts are flying around everywhere. They shipped me a physically broken video card without checking it. Then couldn't call them back because they don't work on weekends.

Called to get replacement, got transferreed around by the customer service department a total of 4 times, then put me on hold another 3 times. I gave up and hung up after 30+ minutes of waiting. Called again and got my RMA # but I have to pay for shipping. Calculating the time it will take for me to get a working video card, I think it should take me a total of 3+ weeks to get a working video card.

Explained to them that I can't finish building my computer until I get a working video card (since no onboard video for my motherboard). They told me sorry about that, but can't do anything about it.

wasn't too happy about having to pay shipping to ship broken part back to them.

"After reading countless positive reviews and seeing adds and references in Maximum PC, I took the plunge on my latest box with Monarch. Their selection was great, the processing was above average, and the price on the barebone I ordered was hard to beat---actually, impossible to beat by companies as highly rated.

I was annoyed somewhat by the shipping situation, and maybe it was FedEx casting blame. The package made it to the local FedEx a day after it shipped, but FedEx explained that the seller wouldn't release it because I didn't pay for that fast of an arrival. Ok, I can kind of understand that, but FedEx went on to say that the instructions from the shipper also stated that FedEx had to make a delivery attempt BEFORE I could go and pick it up. Major annoyance since FedEx is about 2 miles away from me. Maybe FedEx is to blame, but I doubt it.

But, the box arrived, it looks great, cabling was done very well, everything works with no glitches whatsoever, and the price was a bargain. Despite the somewhat minor shipping irritations, Monarch delivered.

"I ordered a video card for my friend who was about to go to oversea on July 27, 2006. Monarch confirm my order on the same day and immediately charge my credit card. In the email, it stated that the item shall be mailed in the next 3 days. However, by July 31, the item was still not shipped. I called and found out that they never intend to ship it until Aug 9. No email was send to notify me about the change. Since I cannot wait for the new shipping date, I cancelled the order. I received a confirmation email regarding my cancellation. In the email, it mentioned that my refund shall be process in 15 to 30 days (which is quite long). However, until today (Sept 22, 2006), I haven't received my refund yet! I have tried to send 4 emails through their website form and also call them 6 to 7 times. I have left 3 voice messages for their "credit department" (which I never got a chance to talk to real person!).

In short, this is a worst company that I have ever deal with. I will never buy anything from them again! Please, if you value your money, stay away from them! You have been warned!

"MONARCH IS TROUBLE!!!

I ordered a custom computer from Monarch computers. A number of problems occurred right away (or I should say, not right away). It is promised on their site that the computer would be shipped within 8-13 days or an e-mail explaining the delay would be sent. After 16 days (with no explanation of delay) I called up and asked and they said the computer would get shipped in 3 more days. Since another week went by I called up and told me there was a problem with the motherboard. It blew. They had tried to get a hold of me to tell me but since I was on vacation they couldn't.

I eventually got the computer 28 days later. I couldn't install windows properly untill I called up and was told they had put a raid controller (specifically not requested by myself) in my computer and a different motherboard than I asked for. I was never notified!!!

Then the network card problems came--they never worked. This never got resolved. During the process of which I tried
- 3 other network cards.
- 1 microsoft support issue.

Then I realized the bios was not up to date on the motherboard, it was the first published bios a year ago. They specifically say that everything is the most up to date software.

Their tech people were unhelpful. They had no idea. They offerred to send out a tech person but they said and I quote, "I can send out a technician to replace your mother board, but he won't be able to see if that fixes the problem with the network card, he may not have the technical expertise".

Then I asked if they would accept it back to fix it and make sure that it worked. They said, "Well we don't support Windows 2003 (this is not true).

I then cited bad service (late, bad motherboard) and asked for a refund. I was denied. They told me concerning my computer being late: "Part of the reason my system was late was because I was on vacation". It was late by 2 weeks by the time I started my vacation. Then they told me (completely contradicting themselves) that the reason they switched motherboards was because it didn't take 4 sticks of memory. I checked and that was incorrect.

But the quote from monarch that took the cake:

"Our techs were working from memory and they know that they have had a problem with this original Abit board. Until the system would have gotten here we were not 100% sure as to why the incorrect board was put in. It was something that we were going to have to check out."

Techs working from memory??? Not sure why a different board was put in??? And we're supposed to trust them.

Well, apparently they don't do refunds--but they do send documented e-mails illustrating their incompetancy which are just as good. I returned the monarch computer under their assumption that they are fixing it. After shipment I e-mailed them not to bother shipping it back to me, and we want a full refund and we will refuse any shipment back from them. We are confident our credit card company will cancel the order.

DON'T BUY FROM MONARCH, they are a scam. If anything goes wrong, they do not provide the service they claim. Don't buy anything custom, they don't check or test anything. Also, there is no refund. This is the trully scary part.
