"I bought a FL100 MP3 player from them.
Their Web page said they would beat any Web price by 5%. I also liked the fact that you could call them up to place an order or for customer service issues, and that their standard shipping is 3 days at a reasonable rate.
Anyways, I called them up on a Monday and they were very helpful. They ended up matching amazon.com’s price and gave me their standard 3-day FedEx ecom shipping. I ask about the warranty and the rep said they would honor the warranty in house for a full year. So I placed my order. I was very surprised that the packaged show up at my house the next day! At that point, I was very happy with mydigitaldiscount.com. and my new FL100.
After two days I bought a 256MB SD card and it worked fine until I removed it to put into a card reader. When I went to reinstall the SD card into the FL100 it would not lock into place anymore, no matter how many times or how hard I pushed it in. My unit was apparently defective. Has anybody else had this problem with their FL00?
I called back Mydigitaldiscount.com on Friday (I had placed the order on that Monday) to get a replacement unit. Once again, the rep I talked to was very friendly but informed me I had to pay for all shipping costs back to them and that is what is stated on their Web site. From their Web site:
“We will return your money including S/H in the case that you return a defective item that we are no longer able to replace with an identical item or one similar in price and specifications. You will also be refunded for the cost of returning the item”.
He also tried to talk me into shipping it back to the manufacture for replacement several times during our conversation. He said although they would reluctantly exchange it (at my shipping expense), they would much rather that I did not send it back to them for replacement because of the cost and trouble for them. He also said they were to changing their policy and would not handle warranty repairs anymore except for defective products.
I sent the unit back to Mydigitaldiscount.com on Saturday via US priory mail ($7.50) with insurance and delivery confirmation. Mydigitaldiscount.com received it on Monday but did not send out a replacement until Wednesday via regular mail (they said it was being sent Priory Mail). I received a working replacement on the following Monday two week after my first order date.
I think Mysigitaldiscount.com did a very good job up until I asked them to exchange a defective product. I believe it is the Web merchant responsibility stand behind defective products and to pay for return shipping costs unless their Web page and reps clearly state otherwise when asked. If the want to handle the manufactures warranty that’s a bonus but they should not tell customers they will and then three days later say they have a change of policy.
At this point, I do not think I would buy again from Mydigitaldiscount.com because of the hassles in dealing with them if anything went wrong.

"On 19/06/2003 I placed a order for a NEX ia + 256mb CF card + FM transmitter. At checkout, the payment sistem of "Authorize.net" response to me that there's a problem and so my card is charged of 186$... but the order can't be submited to MDD!!!
After 2 work day MDD customer service has contacted me to solve my problem. They can see my CC charge, but they don't know what I ordered! So... they ask me some detail... and after only 2 hours they shipped my pack!
Today (25/06) has arrived! NexIA is very beautyfull... but I don't like included earclip. A notice on wireless fm transmitter: don't work very well... and DC power connector is incompatible with NEXia.
In conclusion...
Good merchant: only a wait on my first inquiry, but after they have a very fast shipping!

"I purchased a 256M Lexar SD card (works fine) and 4-Port USB 2.0 PCI card from them May 14th. I finally got the package 3 weeks later due a shortage in the SD card that was not advertised on the site.
When I finally got the order. The PCI card came in a box with no markings on how to contact the manufacturer (no phone #, fax, e-mail or even www site)if there were any problems, which there certainly were.
The card (Brand: Intex) first caused my system to hang, then only operated in USB 1.1 not 2.0, even after I installed (in every combination) every driver on the cryptic driver disk they provided.
My issues with MDD? 1) Does not provide guidance on when products will ship (see Amazon for example). 2) Deal with shoddy vendors. (Intex: http://intextechnologies.com/)"

"Follow-up Addendum (As of June 4, 2003):
I ended up calling the company on Monday and was told that the Transcend 1 Gig Compact Flash should arrive by Tuesday and would be shipped FedEx Overnight.
The card, as well as the media player unit arrived as promised and appears to be in good working order.
I will have the items to cover the wedding afterall. I have also checked with other pro photographers and it seems that MyDigitalDiscount.com has a good reputation.
Based upon their response (and willingess to admit when they mess up), as well as service when it came to resolving a problem, I am changing my rating and would consider doing business with them again. Recommendation is to CALL the company as soon as you suspect there might be a problem, versus e-mailing them, as that is what I think caused the intial delay in resolving my situation (i.e., 1.5 weeks of "wait time" due to e-mail instead of a phone call).

I tried to order the following items, expecting to receive them within a week (per stated by the 2-3 days shipment policy), so that I may use them at an upcoming wedding:

The account just sat at "Pending" for a week with no explanation from the company. I contacted the company to let them know about the upcoming wedding for which I specifically NEEDED the memory card and let them know if it wasn't available to cancel my order (so I could purchase the item from another source and cover the wedding without incident).
They changed my status to "Processing" and didn't list an explanation, so I e-mailed them again to inquire exactly what this meant...i.e., was the item shipping or not? I let them know if the memory card was what we are waiting on, to go ahead and cancel the order, as I need to get a memory card by this weekend to cover a wedding.
They turned around and CHARGED my account without shipping, then said the item would ship as soon as it arrived to them the next day...and two days later, the item still has not shipped...and the wedding coverage is this coming weekend.
Basically, this company has put me into a situation where I can be sued, and if that happens, I, in turn will be suing this company.

I just noticed the review below mine was for the exact same item...and ordered at a later date...and yet they received their order, while mine remains in limbo???!!!!

"First of all I must answer the following question; would I use mydigitaldiscount again? the answer is; YES!
I discovered mydigitaldiscount through Google when I was looking for a 1GB Compact Flash card. The price was very good and I have never had a single problem during six years of ordering stuff from the States to be delivered to the UK, so I didn't hesitate in placing an order.
I was a little bit disturbed when, a day after I had performed the transaction and received an electronic receipt, I was sent an e-mail asking for the security code from the back of my credit card because of the risk of international fraud. In my opinion there were two minor problems with this: 1) They had already taken the money from my credit card. 2) Although the e-mail request did seem to come from mydigitaldiscount it would have been better if this request had been made at the point of placing the order.
Because I don't check my e-mail very often I introduced a delay into the process by not sending my security code for about a week. I introduced the delay BUT I didn't expect to be asked for the security code. As far as I was concerned the transaction was done!
Anyhow, a couple of days went by and my order had not moved from Pending. I sent mydigitaldiscount an e-mail as a little "prod". That "prod" worked, the order was soon in process and soon despatched to the UK. The card arrived about four days later.
In all other respects I am VERY happy with mydigitaldiscount. I would not even go as far as to say that the "hiccup" above made me unhappy. So, why mention it? I have read other comments about Mr Dawson's company on this site and taking those into account along with my own experiences I can only come to one conclusion: Mr Dawson is a good, honest man who shows traits of being human and/or very busy at times. Simple as that! If it looks like you have a problem then "prod" them before starting to worry, it worked for me.
I wish Mr Dawson continued success and hope that he manages to smooth out the gliches and gremlins in his company that have caused a few problems to other customers (and I'm only going on what others have posted here).

Placed order on april, 23, received notification it was in processing. e-mailed asking if the item had shipped, was in stock or more info, never got a response. Re- mailed again to inquire on status, never got a response. Product did not ship yet (one month from the date order). Of course, my credit card was charged on 4/29, instead of on the actual shipment date. My problem is not resolved, I will not buy from them again.
