"Title: Avoid This Auto Repair Nightmare!
I recently had the unfortunate experience of dealing with NTB Tire and Auto Airpark in Gaithersburg, Md.and I cannot emphasize enough how terrible my experience was. I give them zero stars.
First and foremost, the customer service at this place is abysmal. There is none. From the moment I contacted them, I was met with indifference and condescension from the staff. They seemed annoyed by me and appeared to be more interested in not having to make things right, and casting the business in a positive light, than helping customers. It was clear that they had no interest in providing a positive customer experience.
I brought my vehicle in for what I thought was a simple tire replacement, but it has turned into never-ending aggravation. The real nightmare began when I made an appointment to have a flat tire replaced, scheduled for July 30, 2023. I checked their website and it indicated that they were open on Sundays. I made an appointment on their website and received a written confirmation of that appointment. The day before I received a second confirmation confirming my Sunday appointment. On Sunday I took off from work, hired a towing company to get my car to the service location, starting at about 9am. When we arrived at the towing location, the business was closed, even though their website said they should open and I had 2 written confirmations. I I had the towing company take my car to another tire business where the tire was eventually replaced. Not only did I lose wages from work, but the towing cost me hundreds of dollars. My day finally ended at approx. 5pm.I brought my vehicle in for what I thought was a simple tire replacement, but it has turned into never-ending aggravation. But the worst part is the indifference of the company (i.e. General Manager), telling me that appointments made online are not real appointments and don’t really count. That they are not open on Sundays and had no obligation to be there.
To make matters worse, when I tried to reach out to NTB to discuss my concerns and request a refund of my towing, they were completely unresponsive. I called 3 times. They asked my name and then I was told no one would be available to speak to me. I had to go there in person 3 times and was told by the general manager that they were not going to do anything and I was basically out of luck. I was also told that I was contacted by the district manager and the case was closed. I was never contacted by anyone. It's clear that they have no interest in customer satisfaction or taking responsibility for their mistakes.
In summary, I strongly advise anyone considering using NTB Tire and Battery Airpark in Gaithersburg, Md. to run in the opposite direction. Their terrible customer service, dishonest and disreputable business practices, uncaring attitude, and lack of accountability make them a complete disaster of an auto repair business. Save yourself the headache and find a reputable and honest repair shop elsewhere.

"I had a nail in my tire with a slow leak. My Salem Va location gave me a same day appointment, a fast repair and a fair price! Can not ask for more than that! Thanks…"
"I took my 2019 Dodge Charger to NTB I wanted to see if my tire had a nail in it so I took it there about 10:30 I work around the corner so about 12:00 p.m. some of my coworkers called me and told me that their mechanics was driving my car at a fast rate of speed spinning wheels so I went to see where my coworker was talking about so I happened to see my car going at a fast rate of speed and the mechanics doing burnouts so I went to the shop and I asked the mechanics who was driving my car and they said nothing so I asked him again and they said nothing so then I asked them where was the managers and they said nothing so then I went to the front I talked to a manager he pulled me out front and he said he sorry but he wasn't in the back in the shop so then another manager came and said he was sorry and he could give me a free oil change I said I don't want nothing just give me my keys and let me go so the manager said okay but they never did the job so my car was in the shop in line so I go and get my car I tried to start it because I have a push start and it didn't start so then I got out and I asked for my key I asked one of the employees that was in the shop for my key and he act like he had an attitude so I was like what's the attitude for and then he said what and I asked him again what's the attitude for and he said I don't have an attitude and I said that's what it look like I said don't get mad at me because y'all got caught so then he goes on to say whatever then he says it's whatever so then I say it's whatever so me and him getting each other's face and the other the other two mechanics they were telling me I bet not see you in the street and you better enjoy that car so I asked him was that a threat so then the manager come and separate us and I got the district manager's number which nobody's no help nobody called me back this happened in Alexandria Virginia so if anybody take their car to Alexandria NBT just be careful because they will drive your car without you knowing it recklessly it's just so happens that I work around the corner and they got caught I'm just putting this out"
"I scheduled an appointment at the Westchester location in high point, I was told if I was there before 5pm they could change my oil, rotate my tires, and inspect my car. I arrived at NTB at 4:58. When I walked in the door the lobby was completely full-- I stepped up to the desk, told them who I was and what I was there for.
The man asked for my name, and quickly told me that I did not have an appointment. I told him I scheduled it the day before, I was told if I was there by 5pm they could do everything that needs to be done. He began to get loud with me, telling me I was not telling the truth and I never had an appointment. I quickly told him that my appointment was scheduled the day before, and the man I spoke to told it would take about an hour and twenty mins. The man at the desk interrupted me and told me that no one was staying late to do anything for me. Then the other man at the desk threw the paperwork in his hands at the man I was speaking to and said "I am not staying late to change sh*t" and he stormed off. I reiterated the fact that I am going out of town this weekend, and needed at least the oil changed and tires rotated before I left, and he told me that was not happening.
They were so rude and nasty-- I will never set foot in a NTB again. "
"Thank you to Eddie at National Tire and Battery for helping me with my "low pressure" reading on my dashboard. Very kind and personable! Be sure to take your car here if you need any help with your car."
"They lied about my Honda needing an axle and boot. My mechanic said they sprayed fluid in it. There are no leaks. After getting tires put on my Nissan. I have a leak where everything was replaced. It was sabotaged. I will never go there again. "
"Thankful to have a great package deal on my oil change and tire rotation "
"The workmanship and follow up were unsatisfactory from every aspect. Took car in for alignment and ended up buying 4 new tires because they couldn't accomplish alignment or balancing. That took 3 trips and $600. The alignment should have been $90. After new tires were installed, technician forgot to fully inflate tires. All 4 lights cane on. One tired developed a slow leak and discovered that NTB had overtightened locking lugs and tires could not be removed because the key for locking lugs was stripped. Had to plug the leak without removing tire.
One tire bald after 18,000 miles on a 40,000 mile warranty tire. NTB could not remove the tire they installed to replace bad tire. Had to pay BMW to remove lug. NTB refused to take responsibility for lug fiasco and only provided a $10 discount on the bad tire. I had the ghazard insurance and the tire had 18k out of 40k (45%) miles usage. With the extra time, costs and hassle, I would hope that NTB would respect the value of my time and patience, as well as, my patronage to make me whole. This has to be the most challenging service issue I've ever had to deal with!"
"NTB Alton, IL is bad store. Poor customer service and service writer walked off when challenged about bad tire. Never got to talk to a manager. Had to buy a new tire at full price. WIll never go to NTB again!!!"
"This is the problem I encountered with NTB when I took my 2006 Buck Le Sabre to have it inspected on June 3, 2020. At the time I got new tires, a synthetic oil change and the replacement of the steering gear and the rack and pinion system. I was able to drive the vehicle approximately 1,000 miles before it began having trouble with the steering system. This was in February, 2001 and we were in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. I decided to park the car and take it back in June 1, 2021 when it was required to be inspected. At that time I told the technician about the steering problem. They put additional power steering fluid in the vehicle and told me that it was fixed. I began experiencing the same problem and took my car back to NTB for additional repairs. At that time they replaced the power steering pump at no charge. On my way home, I could tell that the work performed did not solve the problem. I was driving on the interstate and their negligence put my life at risk. At that time I decided that I had to take my car to the Buick dealership in order to fix my car. I was told at the dealership that the power steering lines were installed incorrectly and they had to replace the power steering pump and steering gear. It cost me $1,650 to restore my car to drivability. I contacted NTB and They denied any responsibility for this problem. Don't take your car to NTB. They are incompetent.

"I don't know what is going on here. I have been a customer of this Store for over a decade. I needed new tires and scheduled the installation on line. I indicated that I would wait. When I arrived at the appropriate time, I was told that the service people were going home. They would keep my car overnight and do the install first thing in the morning. I asked what time would it be done, I was told by 9:30AM. Thursday June 30 I called at 0945 to see if the car was finished, it wasn't. I ended up picking the car up at 11:20am. The next day, July 1, I received an email from NTB indicating they have a buy 2 get 2 free offer. I called and spoke with the sales person, she indicated that she had no control over what corporate did. I asked to speak to the manager and was put on hold. After a period of time the sales person picked up and indicated that the manager would honor the new offer, however my installation package would change. I accepted the change. Now I was put on hold again for an extended period of time as they tried to figure out what to do next. I think they expected me to say no thank you and hang up. Short story, I called and spoke with Kevin Beach the manager. He indicated that indeed they would honor the new deal and that "George" was working on the figures. George would call me back. 35 minutes later, it is now after 5:00 PM, I called and asked for Kevin. He was gone and George was with a customer. The sales person indicated that they would refund the original sale and re-write it with the new terms. This means the original sale amount would be held on my card and I would also be charged the new amount. That was not acceptable. The cost difference was $62.47 and the addition of two services on my computer record. They either could not figure out how to do that or they are not allowed to do that. Either way, I told them to forget the change. I was not having over $600.00 held on my card and another $700.00 charged to it.
After over 10 years and multiple cars serviced here, I am through with them. There are many other options open to consumers.

"March 6th 2021 I Make the mistake do entrust my car to NTB in Mooresville North Carolina for a wheel alignment. After paying $105 I walked out of the door and was confident to have a satisfying job done. Less than 2 months later. April 24th, I went back to the place I purchased the tires and was asking to check for a nail on the rear right side. Comes down to that both real tiles went from good thread depths to below steel mash in less than 2,000 mi. The conditions of the rear tires were so terrible that I would not be driving that vehicle one more mile without new tires. After contacting the NTB store in Mooresville that performed the wheel alignment they agreed to pay for the messed up alignment but they're trying to find any possible reason to decline responsibility. Be careful to ever trust NTB for any work you plan on having done. If it's not right they definitely will not stand behind it."
"I made an appointment on line for a full synthetic oil change. It took more than 2 hours and the tag in my car said it was synthetic blend. They claimed it was a mistake and I got full synthetic. Plus they were supposed to check my brakes and I know I need front brakes although they didn't mention it. Their customer service was not helpful. I wonder if they really rotated my tires. I don't trust them and will not go there again.
"
"I scheduled an appointment to have an oil change and tire rotation which when I bought the tires was included in the arrangement. Was told every six to eight thousand miles you need to have your tires rotated manager Matthew homes on Silver Drive told me they didn't need rotated even though it had been well over the allotted mileage. If they're going to sell a product they should honor it. They are nothing but scam artist. And they give mechanics a bad rap. Again they are scam artists. My recommendation is not to use the NTB on Silver Drive in Columbus Ohio."
