I received a call from the store telling me that they don't have the Nikon batteries and chargers in stock but they have replacement battery and charger from a different manufacturer at a much better price. My mistake, I ordered them anyway. They arrived promptly. I realized I did not need two of each and called to return one battery and one charger. They said I could not return them because they were final-sale items. But later I received a call from the supervisor and agreed to let me return the items and credited my account promptly."
"I placed an order for a Canon TC-DC58B 58mm 1.5x Tele Lens on 9/12..CS emailed me a week later stating a backorder ship date of 10/17/07, I consented(since I'm in no apparent rush),and they agreed in turn on above said and supposedly "confirmed" ship date...
As of this writing 11/24...no lens, no communication at all..no nothing!(And this is coming from a returning customer).
p.s. Yeah, I ain't rushing really. But a two month wait and no communication from them at all is way too much...and is so unprofessional.
Update: Well, finally I took delivery of the Tele Lens 1st week of December c/o my front neighbor who received the package (was outta state)...
Still, this buying experience gave me a somewhat "bitter taste"!
No explanation was made at all to justify the delivery lag time from 10/17 till early December...a near 3 months from the time I placed the order.
Gawd!...if I didn't raise a holler, my order would been lost into...oblivion!

"On 11/4/2007 I ordered a Canon LHA-DC20 lens adapter and hood. Remembering that my daughter owned the same camera, I decided to buy one for her also. I called NWV Direct the next morning, hoping I could catch the order before it shipped and add the second item thus saving additional shipping expense.
I talked with "Charlie" who told me there would be no problem and quickly added the second item although the package was already scheduled for shipping. He then sent me an immediate follow-up e-mail confirming the changes.
As for delivery time, ground rates got the package to me today 11/8/2007. Every thing was far better than I expected...Thanks"

"I'm curious to know if there's an order placed on NWDirect that *doesn't* receive a call saying that the product is backordered and "would you accept XXX replacement?" Placed an order yesterday and received a call this morning suggesting a generic replacement model charger, at the bargain price of $69.99, which was eventually haggled down to $44.99 ($10.00 more than I had agreed to pay for the name brand product). I went onto e-bay and found the replacement model charger NWV had suggested for $10.00 with $7.00 shipping, or $17.00 total. a full $52.00 less than I'd pay at NWV Direct.
Looks pretty straight up bait and switch to me.

Received an e-mail saying I needed to contact the vendor (in addition to them contacting me) because there was a problem with the order. Same message. "There was a problem with the website" (worked fine for me...) and "the product is backordered. Are you in a hurry?" then the guy offered the same knock-off charger for the same price, $30.00 more than the brand-name charger for my camera.
I cancelled the order. I recommend you don't place yours.

OK, in the interest of giving credit where it's due, after posting the above, I received a call from a supervisor at NWV Direct. He offered to drop ship the unit (A Canon battery charger) from an Arizona warehouse at no shipping cost to me. I'd already bid on the same unit on E-Bay so I told him I'd let the auction play out. In an effort to make me a happier customer, he then offered two high capacity batteries at no cost to me. When I lost the auction, I contacted him and placed the order. No shipping charges. Fair enough...
Was I surprised when the order shipped from their Brooklyn location when no fewer than three of their employees told me they had no units in stock? Well, more amused really. Truth is, their extra effort and the extra batteries have made me happier about the transaction.
I also bought the knock-off charger that NWV had offered for $59.99 from an e-bay reseller for $9.99 with $7.00 shipping. Total cost: $16.99 new and in the bubble packaging. I'm not sure why. Maybe I'm taking the NWV's rep's advice that the knock-off is a good product. I'll test it out and depending on which is smaller/lighter/faster, use that... or both. "
