"I ordered a tele-converter from NWV on 3/28/2007, and was phoned the next day, and told that it was back-ordered, so I cancelled the order. I later found that the VCL-DH1758 was a good lens for my camera, and found that NWV had it (in stock) for the best price. I ordered it, but again got a call that THIS lens was on backorder. I was told that one should be in on the 4/20/2007, so I said I would wait. I asked the status of my on 4/23/2007 (pretty much a 3 week wait), and was told that the lens was not in, and there was no ETA, so I cancelled this order. Both times that I called, it was suggested that I change my order to a different, cheaper lens that had a "highest ranking" by some magazine, specifically on my particular camera. I never found the ranking. I have seen enough example photos to know that the wrong lens can make very ugly pictures. Neither time did the web site indicate that the lenses I ordered were backordered. I do want to say that I was not pressured into buying the cheap lens, but they did not seem to care once I said I would not buy it - TWICE."
"I ordered on Tuesday and got an email on Wednesday asking me to call customer service. I talked to Chester who informed me that the lens I ordered was on backorder and wouldn't be in for 3 weeks. He informed me of an alternate (and much better lens) that was on sale updated my order immediately. I had an updated confirmation email within 30 minutes.
Great customer service--VERY helpful--and even better prices. I got 2 lenses and an adapter from NVW for less than the price of the lens alone at a local camera shop.

"I called to place a phone order to NMV and I dealt with a very cordial man Charles, to
puchase a flash for my Canon 30D. He was very knowlegeable and a delight to deal with.
I purchased a Digital Power zoom flash #952AF/CAN
made by www.sakar.com. Although I did have a problem with the first flash, and I am not entirely sure that there was a problem with it due to the free charger and batteries that came with the flash, (which by the way saved me from having to purchase this if I had bought some other brand) because there was a piece of plastic that appeared to be blocking the battery connections and so the batteries may not have been fully charged.
Nevertheless, Charlie had a tech from Sakar call me and they next day shipped me a new Digital flash.
That kind of cooperation between a retailer and manufacturer is rare and noteworthy of praise.
The new flash they sent worked fine and I am most satisfied with the response I recieved. I will most definetly go back to www.nwvdirect.com. They really know how to take care of a customer. "

i called them up,. explaining why its not being process. the customer service is rude.. he just told me that CHECK YOUR STATUS ON THE SITE! hes not even polite! he needs to learn good costumer srvice,. ITS A BUSINESS DUDE!!

"I ordered two lenses (Sony VCL-DH0758 & Sony VCL-DH1758) on Sat. March 3rd from NWVdirect. I was called Sunday afternoon and told one of the lenses was out of stock but was expected on 3/20. "Charlie" (apparently the sole proprietor Charles Hamaoui) stated he did not wish to "split the order" but I said sending one lens immediately and the other later would be fine. He then proceeded to talk about a "similar" lens @ approximately the same price which "had high reviews in Amateur Photographer's Monthly". I suggested he switch to that lens only to find out on the reissued invoice that they were Digital Optics/Crystal Optics/Sakar lenses. Blech! I immediately called and insisted he switch my order back to the originally requested lenses. After some himming and hawing, he agreed and I received an updated invoice dated 3/4/07 with my original order on it.
I followed up by email today as I haven't received either lens and was informed that BOTH lenses are back-ordered from the manufacturer. I requested they follow up with the manufacturer regarding ETA and was told NIKON had given them poor information. Keep in mind I ordered SONY lenses that to this day show as "usually ships in one business day" on their website.
23 days after my order, I have neither lenses nor an explanation as to why this seller is ordering Sony lenses from Nikon....
This reseller purposely misleads consumers regarding their current stock.
update 3/29: Yesterday, "Phillip" called me and apologized for my experience, promising to send the lenses to me immediately. He mentioned he had read my review here. I requested that he e-mail me a tracking confirmation # once the lenses were shipped, which he did last night. UPS tracking confirmed the package will be delivered tomorrow. I had also complained to the BBB the other day. It is unfortunate that I had to take these steps in order to receive quality service."
"I had a problem with the flash I purchased not working correctly with my camera, but NWV was very prompt about addressing the issue and expediting an exchange for a new flash. Although I would not purchase this same flash again and will opt for the Canon, the customer service was excellent. I was very pleased with the way my problem was handled."
