"I had an issue with an order due to technical difficulties from the masterpass promotion. The masterpass promotional code did not work for some reason and I ordered the item anyways so lost out on a $25 discount on my order. I called in about the issue and the customer service representative, Hailey, immediately knew what the problem was. Apparently the promotional code was declined because MasterPass was down for a bit. She immediately gave me an apology and a $25 credit for the order. Her awareness on the issue and ability to quickly resolve it are skills that Newegg needs to keep in their customer service department. This honestly made all the difference as I had to wait 1 hour to even talk to someone in customer service due to the high volume of calls today. This would've definitely left a sour taste in my mouth had I hung up feeling the issue was unresolved.
Research shows that customers respond more favorably to lackluster service that was rectified than service that was perfect. I can understand that now. Thank you Hailey."
"I recently purchased a MSI Laptop from Newegg for a good friend of mine. The purchase went smoothly via Apple Pay. Quickest thousand I ever spent with a thumbprint scan. When I saw the invoice email I was stunned to see that my ship to address was across the street from where I really lived. It seems my iPhone at some time in the past, decided to use GPS coordinates to pinpoint my "ship to" address. I found 3 home addresses on my phone and removed the wrong one. I then contacted FedEx about changing the ship-to address. They told me that only the shipper (Newegg) could do that. So, I contacted Newegg via online chat. (I don't recommend.) I was told the order was restricted from any changes since it was done via ApplePay. Ugh. Frustration mounted. I then tried FedEx again and asked to have the package dropped at one of their pickup locations. Guess what? Not permitted for this order. (Thank you Apple!) I DM'd Newegg via twitter and followed that up with a phone call to Newegg customer support. I got Matthew T on the line and he stepped up to do whatever he could to resolve the issue. He escallated and put in a request to have my delivery address changed. later in the day I received a confirmation from FedEx that the ship-to address was now the correct one. While the amount of time spent trying to resolve this issue was a bit of a waste, I was very pleased to get a support rep who took responsibility and didn't just quote me the standard scripting. Thank You Newegg. My only recommendation? Talk with Apple and FedEx about how to make this experience smoother for your customers. I'm sure I'm not the only one who uses ApplePay. (So, now. "I ordered a speaker phone set which was never shipped but was assigned a tracking number, not by a third party but by NewEgg. It never left the building, after 8 days, I contacted NewEgg Customer Service and was told they would have to put in a "shipping inquiry" which will take 7-10 business days before they ship a replacement!! Anyone with any sense can see that it never was handed over to the shipper, a label was put in the system but never shipped. Their mistake my problem!!!!
