"I spoke with David today about some 3D Printer heat tape that ended up a couple thousand miles from me. He seemed like an American and spoke American English yet couldn't understand me, an American speaking English. He's trying to get my problem solved by, instead of getting the heat tape that's being held at a reception center sent to me, just having the Taiwanese company email me within two business days and that if they don't, contact Newegg again to get this sorted. He also said that they'd have to ship from China again. I was also asked, "Can't you just get this nearby?" to which I replied, "No, otherwise I wouldn't have gone to Newegg." I literally need this to print anything on a 3D printer since my last tape peeled off. He also told me that "International shipping takes longer," to which I replied, "I know." I ordered this on November 24th and it arrived in Illinois on December 14th. Today is January 3rd. This is much longer than the "business days" David mentioned it would take. He also went into great detail, as if to belittle me, what a business day is. He acted as if I was clueless. He was friendly, so I'd deal with him again, but only because I'm afraid of what the other employees are like. I was on the phone for well over an hour waiting so next time I'd probably go to that chat they mentioned is available on their website that the phone kept telling me I should try."
"Ordered a refurbished HP desktop computer. The DVD-RW drive would not work. Upon opening the case I discovered the drive was unplugged. I connected the sata cables and the drive responded, but was shot! It seems probable that the reseller checked the drive and when found to be broken, merely disconnected the drive and shipped the computer with a disconnected and broken DVD-RW drive. The jury is out on this seller. I am requesting a replacement drive as would rather not ship the entire unit back to them, as I have already installed a wifi adapter and other software.
I will attempt to re-rate the seller, if the DVD-RW drive is replaced. "
"I had a problem with an order that turned out to be from an associated site that NewEgg partners with (called "flash"), and after some initial frustrations connecting with a live representative I was able to speak with a very responsive and pleasant operator who was able to help a lot. She then connected me with an even MORE pleasant and MORE responsive supervisor, Marlene M. Arteaga, who completely resolved my problem with the associate website AND got me a discount on the identical item on the main NewEgg site just for my troubles!
The price was terrific, the product is first class, and the customer service is even better than AMAZON! (Gasp!)
For future reference, you can bypass all the frustrations in getting to a representative by scheduling a call-back at a certain time, rather than waiting in line for the representative (which can be an hour wait). I don't know why ALL customer service lines don't adopt this policy, because it is such an easy service to establish, technology-wise, and is so much more satisfying than the usual wait-with-the-phone-to-your-ear experience!
