"Very competitive prices. Fast shipping. Unparalleled customer service. They have helped with any issue far beyond expectations and really take the time to assure the problem is resolved. I'm so impressed. It's hard to to buy all parts from newegg."
"I bought a item for my daughter for christmas (2019) it had a warrenty and they held up to that they said return it and we will send you a replacement....great right?! Wrong I sent my item back to them they got my item on October 15th. They confirmed they received it. So I let them know like I had told the 6 people before them that I no longer lived at the address they have and I needed to update my address. They said they could do it soon as they were going to ship out the replacement item. Wrong they said after having my item they can't update addresses in their system for replacements. What a joke so after finding that out the customer service lady said the return will be processed by October 22nd and I'd have my money refunded back (since they can't update an address) in 3 to 5 days. Well it's now the 30th of October annnnnd they haven't even processed it according to the customer service person I spoke with today. She insures me it will be handled within 1 to 2 business days.
I'd give them -5 stars if i could!! This place is a joke. They are basically stealing from people!"
"Four times since the pandemic I have made purchases of computer components from Newegg that show 2-4 day shipping where a label immediately appears "created label" and just sits there for as much as a week. Contact with customer service always states it will go out tomorrow, the data is behind, no cancellations allowed once purchased for any reason and the item never shows up. They can't refund it because the item they state is with the carrier even though the carrier states "waiting for the item from seller" so you wait until the shipper who claims they don't have the item sends it back to the vendor. This appears to be a "shell game" folks where no one is culpable but it appears they don't have the item and want to "play" with your money! My advice, and this is recent since the pandemic is stay away as likely this whole resource is likely to collapse soon and they have been a major supplier for computer industry compoenents for many years."
"DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS WEBSITE
DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS WEBSITE. Newegg absolutely screwed me on this product. I ordered this on 10/22. After receiving a shipping invoice the following day, I was pretty excited to be getting my new joystick, whenever that showed up in the next month. The very next day I got an email stating that they had received my RMA requests and would confirm when they received the item itself (never sent an RMA request, still don't have the item itself...). After getting these emails I check their website, only to find that it's in stock AND well over $100 more than the price I paid for it. Bit suspicious, right?
I called Newegg and got the most garbage support. Not only did the first person "transfer" me to another department for escalation, only to land in a phone survey asking about my satisfaction and then get hung up on, but the at the end they basically told me to stuff it. After calling back and waiting 15+ minutes to get back to the same point again, I was escalated to Earl. Earl flatly blamed the issue on the seller, Deal Targets.
At this point it's worth mentioning I called my brother after I bought the joystick to tell him I found a solid one in stock. My brother bought the joystick while we were on the phone and it is well on it's way. How is he getting the joystick when he ordered it AFTER me?
I asked Earl what he would do to make this up to me, which he responded with "refund your card." That is not making it up to me, that's simply giving me MY money back. I am NEVER buying anything off this BS website again, Newegg can go stick it."
"Ordered a cpu and it arrived with bent pins. Tried to go through the process of replacement and finally gave up and threw it in the trash. Don't make the same mistake I did!"
"I ordered a motherboard and CPU combo. The motherboard came in unprotected in the box and lacked a CPU socket protector. I did an RMA and waited patiently for almost 3 weeks. I was told my motherboard was damaged by myself and that they cannot fulfill my replacement order. I am disappointed and feel robbed. I will no longer be using this site for my PC enthusiast needs. "
"I've recently purchased the new PSU (power supply unit) for my new PC from Newegg, which arrived later than expected. It was wrapped in bubble wrap that had the Newegg label on it. The label stated the serial number for "Thermaltake PS-TTP-0600NNFAGU-1 600W ATX12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Non-Modular Active PFC Power Supply", which was cheaper compared to what I had ordered. At the same time, the first line on the label mentioned another power supply that I had ordered initially ("Thermaltake Smart BX1 RGB 750W RGB LED ATX12V 80 PLUS Bronze Certified Non Modular Power Supply PS-SPR-0750NHFABU-1), but never received it. By mistake I installed a 600W PSU and it works fine BTW. So I decided to keep it and ask Newegg to reimburse me for the difference in price between the 750W PSU ordered and the 600W power supply that came along, which is roughly $25. Newegg refused to do so. They told me I should return an incorrect but workable power supply to them, wait a couple weeks for a refund, and then order a new power supply. Of course, it was unacceptable to me because my PC is already in working state and waiting another 2-3 weeks, so they won't allow to use my PC for this period of time. I gave up. And I decided never to use Newegg again. They made a mistake and then decided to punish me for their own mistake by leaving my PC in a non-functional state for weeks. Why not pay the price difference if I am already satisfied with a cheaper PSU?"
"I purchased a monitor from Newegg and returned it because I was dissatisfied with the light bleed from the edges. Newegg deducted the return shipping and additional 15% because they classified it as product dissatisfaction. I ended up spending almost $100.00 to return a monitor that I considered defective. I have been purchasing pc equipment from them for over 20 years. I will NEVER do business with them again. You shouldn't either. Buy from Amazon or Best Buy. "
"i bought my computer there and it came in great condition"
"I sent a 14TB drive for replacement because it was DOA when I got it. Their RMA page states 2-5 days processing after they get it back. It's been 12 now and they say another 5. No amount of excuses covers this ineptness when I only live 2 states away. Aside from shipping they've still had it now for 12 days! Completely unacceptable. Newegg USED to be good, until they allowed probly 1000 3rd party sellers on there, AND until their customer service went to ****. They actually USED to be good but this and another recent return nightmare a few months ago have turned me completely off to them.
I will not buy from Newegg any more. I could have refunded it and bought from Amazon and had it in one day. I only bought because it was 20 bucks cheaper...and now I have 50 bucks worth of headaches and unprotected files not backed up. They are just...BAD now."
"Ordering was easy, paying was easy (the price was good), delivery was super fast and the product is as advertised. I received numerous verification throughout the process. I'm extremely pleased."
"My 12-year-old son saved his money from dog walking and yard work to buy a CPU from NewEgg. When we received the product, it was damaged-- It looked like the package had been crushed and the pins to the CPU were damaged. We tried to return and replace the product to NewEgg, but they took absolutely no responsibility and told us we had to follow up with the manufacturer. To twist the knife even further, they sent us two conflicting emails, one saying the return was accepted and another saying the return was not accepted-- at the same time! The whole experience was a scam. This is our first and last purchase form NewEgg. Never. Again. I tried to escalate this and the agent refused to give me any contacts or refer me to her superior or provide the email or phone number of their corporate office. What a joke. "
"I started shopping at Newegg.com in 2002 and is now 2015 and have spent many thousands of dollars there. Their service is not as good now as it was in the past, but is still the best. The Reseller Rating has dropped by about a point in recent years. I visit Newegg.com at least once a day and when I first saw diamond earrings and an air conditioner for sale I knew things were changing for the worse. My experience with customer service and returns has almost always been good. Never lost a shipment, never waited longer than anticipated for orders to arrive. Some of the C.S. reps should not be there, but most are intelligent, respectful and helpful. I believe that the "Marketplace" has its problems and I always check to see that what I order is sold and shipped by Newegg. If I need a generator, stove or wrist watch, I shop elsewhere and not online. If I need computer components I shop at Newegg."
"TL;DR: When it comes to buying a high-demand item that may be low stock, don't trust Newegg's own website item inventory; you will get a 24 hour wait before an automatic order cancellation and then customer service will lead you around in circles before offering you a $10 coupon.
So the full story, it's COVID time and I'm trying to upgrade my graphics card and every major retailer is sold out of the recent generation of video cards. On August 30th 2020 and you can't find a 2080 Super or a 2080 Ti of ANY variety anywhere except for 3rd party vendors who mark up the price $200 to $500.
On Friday August 28th I thought I got lucky and spotted an EVGA 2080 Super in stock at Newegg for $719, the MSRP. I quickly purchased it, elected for expedited processing which they charge $3 for, expedited shipping, the works. Even a 3 year warranty. I get an order confirmation email and a payment processing email from Paypal since that was my choice of payment. Everything looked fine.
All afternoon long I refresh the Order Status page and it just says "Order Processing: Estimated Processing Date: 8/28". A few minutes past 5pm PST, and it says the same thing. I start to worry. I check again before midnight, same thing. Then after midnight it changes to just "Order Processing" and no date info. The next day, exactly 24 hours after placing the order, I get an email saying the order was cancelled because, according to them, the payment was unable to be processed. I go online to see if I can order again and wouldn't you know it, the 2080 Super is out of stock again and now the only option is a 3rd party vendor who marks it up $280.
I go to the customer service chat on Newgg.com and it was basically a giant waste of time. They lied to me about why it was cancelled, gave me several conflicting stories, told me whatever they thought I needed to hear to stop bothering them about the order, said they could do nothing, and finally one of them offered me a laughable $10 coupon. I told them what I wanted was for them to send me the exact same item through their 3rd party seller on their website at the price that I had paid the day before. This is a difference of $280. It sounds like a lot but let's review the facts; they didn't have an accurate account of their in-stock items, instead of reviewing and cancelling my item in a timely manner they let a 24 hour period lapse where they didn't process my order and their system must have automatically cancelled it, and upon contacting them I was told it was my payment provider's fault and that there was nothing they could do. I think a fair solution was right there in front of them–that they sell me an item offered on their website at the price I had agreed to pay the day before–but they would not agree to it.
This isn't quite at the level of scamming, but that's a low bar to even be talking about. Their inventory system is a mess. Their fulfillment center must be running like a chicken with its head cut off. Worst of all though is that when they have a way to make things right, they refuse to do it; when they can quickly resolve an issue, they leave you hanging and let you waste your own time waiting for them to process a purchase that they won't even process because the item was either never in stock in the first place or they had some kind of simultaneous purchase incident.
On Monday morning August 31st 2020, I called customer service and talked to the supervisor Kim. She reiterated the $10 offer. She said she wouldn't offer price matching and that's it. She wouldn't acknowledge the company's ability to make things right using their own 3rd party vendors. I got the same "not my problem" attitude from the supervisor as I did from the customer service agents. It's a shame and pathetic.
I first used Newegg in the early 2000s. If I can possibly avoid them I will never use them again. I heard they were sold to another owner some years back, and this kind of nickel and dime mentality is common with new company owners. They don't think about their long-term reputation. They don't think about customer loyalty. They think about how to tell you "no". They think about charging you for faster processing and doing nothing in return: a $3 do-nothing button. They're not trustworthy and not reliable. Shop elsewhere whenever you can. Don't trust an "In Stock" notice for a high-demand item from Newegg ever again."
"I order a desk and it was right the first time, but second time i got a different one for the same item i order. "
"I order a hard drive that was supposed to be 2TB but barely held 2GB. I contacted the seller for a refund because the drive was either defective or counterfeit and was asked not to leave negative feedback in exchange for a refund... that is a huge red flag to me. If something is defective then stand by the product, but if you're holding my refund hostage so I don't leave negative feedback that means you KNEW your product was not good.
I agreed so that I'd get my money back, and as soon as I verified that the refund had been deposited to my account I wrote a negative review based on my experience. I was contacted by email a few days later offering me ANOTHER refund if I first deleted my negative review.
This was a reseller and not Newegg directly but most of Newegg's merchandise is now offered by resellers. If this is how the company wants to do business, they're not getting any more of my money."
