"I just received the worst service ever from an e-tailer. I ordered the product and called soon after to see if I could change the shipping address. Apparently the late night staff at tech depot is staffed with angry telephone operators that put people down and hang up on them without the offer of help. Worst yet, because of the horrible operator I encountered, I called back to cancel the order and they have no record of it. Three different telephone numbers and I cannot get anyone at the company to help me out. Even when I asked for a supervisor, one operator refused to transfer me. I assume that when operators and supervisors refuse to speak with a customer, they have many customer service problems and this negative feedback will have no difference in the matter."

"Office Depot has gotta be the most reliable company to send things by. They gave me fast shipping < 3 days via ups, not usps. Even though they didn't send me the invoice, they had an online system which is great. I just sent in for the Memorex 52x cdrw rebate and it's already processed. Good job, office depot! I didn't even know you could print a copy of your invoice online for the rebate -- and they accept it!"

"I got a 256mb PC2100 stick of kingston ram for $32 total (item, tax and shipping). Ordered it at 11:30 am, picked it up at the B&M at 4:30 p.m. Great Price and was able to get it the same day. With a $25 MIR and $25 off online coupon code, can't beat that even for generic ram."

"Sale prices and coupons great! Customer Service lousy! I was getting conflicting info from CS on an on-line order for a Viewsonc monitor I placed on Friday for a 3-day delivery. On Monday order status was "Waiting to fill". I called CS to see if I could change to "In Store Pickup". The CS rep took my number and would have a mgr call me back. A few mintues later, CS mgr called back and gave me number of local OD to call if the montior was in stock and then told me to call back and cancel on-line order. I called store, they had one in stock and put aside for pickup. I called OD CS and different rep said my order had no notation of mgr who called me back or any info he gave me, they also said I couldn't change order because item was not available for in-store pickup. (Yes, I know, I should have gotten the mgr's name, my bad). P.S. "3 day shipping" should read "3 business days shipping"."

"This was supposed to be a spindle of Maxell 74-min music CDR's. The sent me 80's by mistake, which are useless in my CD player. They did an exchange to get me what I ordered, and what did I find? The same WRONG 80-min CDR's that I don't need and didn't order. I called back again, and am now getting a full refund because someone in the Richmond,VA distribution center CAN'T READ!!!"

"Ordered 30GB harddrive 10-20. Showed as delivered 10-22. Six calls and 8 days pass before Office Depot's sorry customer service could even tell me who the carrier was. Turns out carrier claims drive was signed for, but after investigation, determined that I had not received the drive, and sent a loss claim to OD. 24 hours later, another call to customer no-service. Now I am waiting for them to check with the carrier. Still waiting for a drive as of 11-05. Do not order delivery from Office Depot! If you want to buy anything, select in-store pickup!"

"AN UPDATE!!

I canceled the order by phone. The guy I talked to didn't even ask why. At least that part was easy. Much easier than getting what I ordered. I got it elsewhere and had it in three days after placing the order.

I ordered a wireless Cable/DSL router on 9-22-02. I had to email customer service on 9-26-02 because the order was still in the "Item in process" stage. The customer service page said it would take up to 48 hours to get a reply. They weren't kidding. A full 2 days later I received an email stating that the order "has been fulfilled", and that it would take up to 48 hours to supply tracking information. So far this marathon has been going on for 6 days and the order hasn't even been shipped yet as far as I can see. How do these people stay in business?
