"A few months ago, I purchased a camera bag from OneCall. I wasn't happy with the bag, and decided to exchange it for something that better suited my needs. I was AMAZED when a few days after I received the new merchandise, I received a PHONE CALL from an associate of OneCall, asking me if I was satisfied with my new product! This had a signficant impact on me, in this day of automated phone systems and 5 minutes of HOLD music -- OneCall always has a person answer the phone, often times the SAME person, who REMEMBERS you, and cares. For this reason, I have also recently bought a camera lense and a new camera from them; their prices were competetive, and the service enjoyable, and everything was super satisfactory. I don't usually go out of my way to post things like this, but OneCall sets a precedent for what all online stores should be like... I want to do all I can to support this, as it is truly a rarity. I HIGHLY recommend you don't shop anyplace else!

"First impression from the saleperson is very important because a customer can sense the slightist lie. Onecall.com states that they will match 7-9 core companies listed on their website, and on a case-by-case basis for other sites. Well, you will have to tell them which specific site it is or Onecall will not even bother to look it up; why? because they'll lose money. I was told that they "don't make alot of money out of it" or "make a little profit." From my warehouse experience, a $400 camera or camcorder made in China will cost no more than $50 to make. Imagine an average chinese worker makes only $2 a day. They will probably say that the overhead cost for USA is more, how much more do they need; Of course, $50 currency in China will convert to $400 in the U.S....oh, pardon me...$300 for product and $100 for overhead...how's that.
My salesperson was Ben and he told me things that I didn't need to hear. Initially, I negotiated the price for the camera at $374 and the camcorder for $578 on Wednesday morning. During the process of negotiating price, Ben starts to put his "game on". He told me that the items will ship Wednesday night, which it didn't; the items didn't leave the next evening. He then tells me that there were only 2 camcorders in stock...please spare me the inventory, all if not most company receives shipment every 1-2 weeks; as mentioned above, he didn't have to tell me that the company was not making much profit from the price he quoted. I might not be smart, but I do know that small companies sell products at least 20% more than what they buy for.
One drop of ink can spoil a whole glass of water. One bad salesman can put a lasting impression on a customer and a reputation for the company.
9/23/05: This is an update on the comment the seller made. They stated that they price-matched a company that was not one of their competitors, which was the camera that I cancelled on thursday morning...that was when I realize that the items didn't ship. As for the camcorder, I made the last call on Wednesday and did get a price match only to know that one of their core competitors was cheaper...again did they bother to look it up? I agreed that I made several calls which could delay shipment, but that didn't mean they upgraded the shipping because the shipping I bought was a $12 2-3 day fedex. The item shipped on Thursday night (which was the usual time for Fedex pickup) and I received the item on Monday. If they upgraded my shipping, my item should've been shipped OVERNIGHT and received on Friday, not Monday...that's another lie they just made."

"Ordering was smooth. Received the box opened and although I don't want to return it I wouldn't be able to for full purchase price. Seems like a good way for onecall to make a %15 profit for selling nothing as that is the charge for returning an opened box. At this point I don't know if it was a used camera. I will report this to the BBB onecall is associated with in case there is a trend regarding this type of activity. Onecall uses Fedx and they were terrible. They said they tried to deliver twice and I wasn't home which wasn't true. I stayed home for two days waiting for them. They never called nor did they leave any notices. Then when I escalated the issue they said they couldn't get in the complex because of a closed gate which wasn't true as the gate is open during business hours. In the end I had to wait for three hours on the street to meet them as they wouldn't give me a time that they would arrive the three time."
