"RE: Price Match [Incident: 120208-002417]
I phone rep said that the company does PRICE MATCH for identical Item. I gave them the competitors site (Product URL) and was advised that the request would be sent to the Backoffice for approval. Shortly thereafter I get the following response back:
"After reviewing your price challenge for this item, I have found that it does not qualify for the price match since the competitors sites return policy will not allow returns on laptops".

However, they failed to read that unopened or defective merchandise could be returned or exchanged. Furthermore, I find the reason (justification for not price matching) a ridiculous farce! What the heck does the return policy have to do with the ACTUAL price matching of the Identical Item on a competitor's website? All stores are going to have varied policies so using that as a justification is a crappy way of giving a potential customer 'The Shift". I AM DONE DEALING WITH THEM!!"
"I ordered a bracelet that I needed to be returned. It took at least 4-5 calls to customer support to get the ball rolling. I was afraid that I would not get my money back, which was over $100 spent. I don't think I can ever do business with overstock again."
"I ordered 3 rugs from Overstock.com at about $135 each. Although I ordered 3 of the same thing, one rug was not the same color as the other 2. This may not be their fault since the label said it was the same color. --- Requesting a return is easy and they give you a preprinted shipping label. There was no option for exchange so I immediately ordered another rug.
The second rug came and it was the wrong size AND the wrong color. The rug was labeled correctly, they just sent the wrong one.
This time I was able to find an exchange option on the site. I sent the second bad rug back.
While I was waiting for the next replacement rug, I was notified that I was being charged $20 for using the return shipping label they sent me. I contacted Overstock by email and they said this was a mistake and removed the charge.
Today I got the CORRECT rug and I'm done with this order.
It was a hassle but since Overstock is paying for the return shipping and I got 3 very nice rugs at a bargain price, I can't see why they shouldn't get a positive rating. "
"There could not be a WORSE company to buy from. My mom, sister and husband were all cheated out of their money by them when they ordered things for Christmas. The items that they ordered did not fit, so we tried to return them. They kept the merchandise, but said they would not refund their money b/c the items were damaged. They were NOT damaged. We took them out of the plastic long enough to try them on and put them back in the plastic. They are thieves and I will NEVER order from them again!"
"Worst experience ever. I bought 4 Stern Clear Acrylic Adjustable Chromed Barstools. One of them completely broke down after 18 months. THe welded part that connects the base to the post broke down. The company said that it's not under warranty and was not interested in further assisting me. The product should be recalled."

After 45 minutes of live chat I still didn't get any answers. I have now spoken to 2 supervisors who both told me to check with the warehouse and were going to call me back but never did.

The boxes that the colognes (2) Diesel Plus Plus by Diesel Men's 2.5 oz EDT Spray were both sent were all water damage, breaking apart, and to top it off I get (chat) ATTITUDE from the so called customer service rep that is suppose to be there to help resolve my issues caused by them?? His name was Bruce and I chatted with him on 1-6-2012 at approximately 4:30 Pacific Time. He was trying to make me state "thank you and you're welcome???? What is wrong with this picture I ask?? After they send me a damaged goods, they have the nerve?? I don't recommend and will definitely let it be known to all.

"Over $2500 for a Virtua Sink unit and it's a particle board POC. Not sure what that stands for? Start with "Piece of" and fill in the blank. The faucets don't use the US standard, so I had to buy euro to US parts to hook it up. Then in less than 3 months, the faucets leak from the poorly done welds. The only good thing is that other online retailers were charging more for the sink and for the shipping so I got burned less, but burned nonetheless."

I bought a Dyson vacuum for nearly $600. It arrived, we assembled it, we tried it and did not find it met our needs - not maneuverable enough to easily get around and under furniture. I went online to see what my return options were. I started a chat session with customer service. They said it was returnable, then I asked if I would get a full refund. They were't sure, so I waited while the person checked. The answer was maybe/maybe not. When it arrived at the warehouse, they would decide if I could have a refund and if so how much. I asked what the amount would likely be, and they had no idea. I asked if I can decide to accept the refund or request they return the vacuum, and they said no, whatever the refund is, that is what I get. I said, I just bought this vacuum, it has been assembled and used once, if I return it, you are telling me they can refund $1 and I have no recourse, and the agent said that was correct!
In other words, OVERSTOCK.COM is a BUYER BEWARE vendor. The only returns they accept are within 30 days of purchase for an unopened item. When I bought this vacuum from them, Macy's had the same item for about $10 more. I should have purchased from a reputable trusted vendor. STAY AWAY from OVERSTOCK.COM!"

Based on other reviews, I suppose I've been lucky because the customer service reps are always helpful, given me extra dollars off an item, or help me find something that I'm looking for. Their prices are ok although like everything else, they've gone up. I always receive my order within 2-3 days."
"Ugh!!! I should have done better research. These guys are selling fake knock offs but advertise as genuine manufacturer products. They clearly show SERTA MEMORY FOAM PILLOW with the title and logo of SERTA but infact the product is a fake cheap knock off. I don't know how this fraudulent site gets away with this. Upon further reading it does state these are "Serta like" and yes it is my fault for not checking thouroughly but you would thing with the ad header as it is this would be a honest sell, but it is not. Stay away from this POS website. An immediate cancellation of my order (merely minutes after) they still charged my account and the idiot CS person I spoke with said simply for me to take it up with my financial institution is a credit didn't go through."
