"Went with PCNation in buying some Logitech speakers because of what was a decent price and what appeared to be a decent rep. Well...
Ordered goods on a Thursday morning, with the knowledge that "there are PLENTY in stock" (according to their stock guru, Will) and that there was no reason they shouldn't be shipped out that day.
Hmmm...Friday afternoon...no tracking number, no nothing. So I call - again....asking politely for ANY tracking information since the website clearly states that my package has shipped. I ask them "with whom is PCNation 3-day shipping with?"
"We don't have that info, sir..." rolled off the sales rep's tongue like I'm sure it had hundreds of times before. He then told me that the information should be available after all the shipments go out on Friday night and I should be able to check it on Saturday morning...
Right. Nobody at PCNation works on the weekends. And, still no tracking info...
I now understand all the press about uncertainty about the right hand talking to the left at PCNation. Much bitterness could have been avoided at both ends of the transaction without this phantom 3-day shipping policy that they seem to use as a selling point. I sure don't mind being told that my package didn't ship out the same day like they said it would - but TELL us that!
I got the package Fedex (which I sure would've loved to have known in advance so I could have arranged my work schedule to be home to sign for it) on Tuesday after all this runaround. Came in good shape and as advertised, so at least THAT is solid.
Overall, the front of the PCNation buying experience really sucked (I considered cancelling my order twice based on their lack of business savvy), but the back end was fine. Doubt I'll be ordering from them again, and unless you like being in the dark, I'd recommend staying clear of them altogether.
My product was actually IN stock, and I had troubles - Before you go pressing that "purchase" button with PCNation, make sure you read about the times when they advertised goods in stock but were really OUT of stock ~ Yikes..."
"On 4-22-05, I had almost completed my order for a $1,300. Sony VAIO MT RB38G CPU with PCNation on the Internet, when the last screen summary showed a different Model No. than I was ordering. I called the 800#, and was connected to Chuck Lochotzki at Ext. 3016. He explained that there was an error on their Internet and he would be glad to take the order for me. He took the information, completed the order and I received an e-mail that said that he was my "dedicated Account Manager...and am here to make your day a little easier. Do not hesitate to take advantage of my services".
On 4-22-05, 4-25-05, 4-26-05, I received separate notices that "we have shipped the following item on your order". I called Chuck and asked why the many notices and he replied that they had never had this happen before. I received another of the same shipping notices on 4-27-05. I again called Chuck, and received the same reply and to disregard the notices; "it must be a glitch in the computer system". I received my computer on 4-27-05, opened the box and discovered that there was no Manual or Back Up Operating System Disks. I called Chuck and asked if he would interface with Sony and obtain a Manual and Back Up Disks. He informed me that they do not do that, and that I would have to contact Sony myself (great dedicated Customer Service). He said they only ship the box that they receive and the rest is up to me. I reminded him that his e-mail said that he was "My Dedicated Account Manager, and not to hesitate to take advantage of my service". I again asked if he would find out if they left the Manual and Back Up Disks out of the box, and he said I could call ***-***-****. Based on his very disinterested attitude, I advised that I would just return the computer and not do business with PCNation again. He said OK, and explained about how to go on their website, answer their questions, call Sony to get a Case#, and return the product. I did call Sony, and they said they could provide the Back Up Disks for $17.95 (or create them myself from the computer) and that there was no printed manual. As a result of how Chuck handled my Customer Service call, I will never purchase from PCNation again, regardless of their price, and will think long and hard about ordering another Sony computer product that has no Manual or Back Up System provided with a $1,300. CPU. "
"Placed order on April 1, 2005. It arrived on April 18, 2005. Computer was to arrive in 2 - 3 business days. Major problems with my credit card and the verification process. When the problem was finally identified, PCnation could not be bothered to fix the problem but kept on blaming the credit card company. I have verified with the credit card company that it was PCNation. I spoke with a Vice President, Arnie, and he really did not care how this order was handled and would NOT take responsibility for all the problems. His only solution was to discount the shipping on my next order since shipping on this order was FREE 2 - 3 days. Well, there will not be a next time as this company does not deserve my business. Bottom line: what I was promised 2 - 3 day shipping never happened and the computer would still not be here if I had not followed through. This company does not care about honoring what they promised. No follow up either.
I would think twice before doing business with them again. "
"These guys rock. I needed an IBM Xserver, power supply, and processor immediately, and I was ordering late in the day. They confirmed stock in their warehouse, expedited processing, and had it in my hands priority overnight exactly as promised. I will definitely order from them again."
"I ordered a Canon i9900 Photo printer from PCNation.com on March 14th. I did so AFTER I already called their ordering department, asking for a guarantee that if I ordered right now I would receive my order by Friday. They said yes absolutely. I ordered, and received an automated reply of my order via e-mail. So far so good.
Then, after noticing that by the end of Monday night, my order status on-line hadn’t changed from “waiting to be picked up”, and no tracking number, I called them Tuesday morning and asked again to verify that my package had shipped and to ask for a tracking number. They said it had, but they didn’t receive a tracking number from order processing yet (whatever that means), so “Rebecca” told me she would find out and e-mail it to me. Tuesday night rolls around, no e-mail, no status change. I call again at 6:30pm central time (they say they are open until 7pm central time), and the office is closed!
Wednesday morning, I call again after receiving an e-mail saying “there is a problem with your order, please call us”. I’m told my phone number didn’t check out with the bank or something, I don’t know why that would be, but even if that’s the case why was I not told about it any of the MANY times I already called, and why was I told it was fine, shipped, etc? Anyway, I verify information, but now the whole idea of having a piece of equipment when you need it is out the window, I needed a new shipping address since it was going to late I was traveling, on this there was no problem. Thursday morning comes, no tracking number or e-mail again. Again I call in the AM, “Rebecca” again, I get put on hold, then somehow hung up on and re-directed to their main menu. When I call back, she seemed to have forgotten who I was even though I just called like 4 minutes earlier. She tells me that “distribution” doesn’t upload the tracking info immediately, so she’ll have to check and call me back. Several hours later, no call back, I call to cancel my order. I get someone else, they say the delay was because of address verification. I say its all a load of @#$%, and even if there are legitimate hold-ups, you should contact your customers and let them know.
I’m pretty disappointed by my experience with PCnation.com, I would not order from them again, and I would not recommend them to anyone. "
"This was the MOST pleasant experience I could ask for when buying a camera. The camera market is so full of fraud. I called first and spoke with Paul and he assured me he would not pull any crap with me when I was ready to order and he was right. When i called to order he was very helpful and very polite. He was ver quick and everything was to the point.
The prices at PCNation for the Canon 20D were top shelf. Much lower than any other place and absolutly NO sales gimick crap that these fraud places in New York pull. With exception of 47stphoto.com. They are very good also and helped me with the items that PCNation didn't carry.
Thanks Paul and PCNation for a VERY Nice experience with my purchase. I'm VERY happy with the product and I'm sending others your way."
"I purchased an external hard drive that was listed on the PCNation web site at a competitive price and as "in-stock". While the order was registered on the PCNation web site under MY ACCOUNT, I did not receive a confirmation e-mail. After calling to find out why, I learned the item was on back order. The sales representative said e-mails had been sent, I gave another e-mail address; to this date no messages to either address have been recieved.
After 10-days the item was still on back order (although the web site continues say it is in stock). I found the drive elsewhere and called to cancel. The sales representative was unfriendly and very defensive about continuing to list the item in stock, he insuinated I do not know how to use e-mail, because according to him, messages had been sent (there is not a spam blocker on the accounts and must admit I do not know why their messages would not get through). It has been three days since cancelling the order, I have called and sent two e-mails to PCNation to confirm. I still have not received written confirmation of the cancellation.
There are many other more reliable firms on the internet to do business with, I will not use PCNation again. "
"Item advertised was not item shipped. Refused to send R/A number. "
"Bought a Samsung 710N monitor for my brother. PCNation had a very good price and they had free 3-day shipping. I ordered on 2/6/05, a Sunday, and the order arrived on 2/9/05, a Wednesday. The monitor was packaged in the original Samsung box, and it is working fine; I didn't notice any dead pixels (knock on wood). I would buy from this store again and I would recommend it to others."
"I was completely pleased with the speed of order delivery. The camera I ordered was shipped as ordered on the day I placed the order. No monkey business, no attempt to get me to purchase accessories I didn't want, etc. Would order from this vendor again!"
"Ordered on a monday morning, recieved the next day using 3 day shipping which was free! EXTREMELY fast delivery, good packaging also! This was my first purchase from PCNATION so I don't know much else about the place but I know I will do business again! Prices seem pretty competitive so far also!"
"Extremely poor internal order fullfillment operation and even poorer customer realtions. I ordered a server on a tues. morning, paid over $200 in overnight delivery, got a call the next evening, long after it was supposed to arrive. The person told me the server did not ship and tried to blame it on the shipper. I asked her if it was with the shipper and if she had a tracking number, she said it was not with the shipper yet. So I said, "then the problem must be on your side, so what's the problem" they could not find my order and they were working on it and it would ship out thursday. Friday comes and no sign of the server, I called PCnation and inquired, they could not give me a tracking number. I then told them, "I refuse to pay over $200 on overnight shipping for a 4 day delivery, unless you make a concession on the shipping, I will refuse delivery. Either you credit the shipping and keep a customer or lose the cost of shipping and lose a customer. They chose to lose a customer and I refused delivery on Monday."
"Great retailer! Especially after my fiasco with Broadway Photo. PCNation delivered the right product, on-time (3-days), at the agreed price.
Thank-you PCNation, you saved my Christmas."
"Excellent online retail store. I bought a laptop from them at a really cheap price(even better than newegg.com) and received it in three days. I would buy from them again. I would recommend this store to everybody."
"I ordered a Pentium Processor from PCNation because the website said the item was In Stock and "Usually Ships the Same Business Day"... now I week later I go to check my order status and it says the item is backordered!! So I even went in to check the item again, still says "In Stock"... You think the least they would do is send me an email letting me know when an item is backordered.. They have now wasted a week of my time and more importantly a week of MY customers time!!! VERY DISSATISFIED! On top of this, they bait you with one price, then add some rediculous "warehouse fee" to your order.. very dishonest.. Who does business like this?"
