"We have bought a total of five Silencer 310 ATX power supplies for $49
each, which are the lowest end model. The first two in January, 2005,
almost 4 years ago. We are running them in servers with multiple hard
drives as well as in workstations. All machines have been running 24
hrs/day 7 days/week since we got them. Every one of them are still
working perfectly. The machines are stable and the fans are quite and
still working fine in all of them.
Prior to these, we had always used cheap power supplies. Usually ones
that came with inexpensive cabinets. It was rare to have the fan in
one last as long as a year before starting to cease up.
I will never buy cheap unknown power supplies again. It always costs
far more than the $10 or $20 I save up front. They tend to have bogus
specs, unstable power, and fans that almost always start going bad
within 6 months or less, causing us to have to disassemble the power
supply and replace or oil the fan. The cheap power supply in one of
our machines put out such unstable power that it burned up one of the
capacitors on the hard drive causing it to crash.
We have had such good luck with even pcpowerandcooling's lowest end
power supplies, and such bad luck on most other types, that we do not
even take a chance on any other brands any more.
In response to a couple of the comments by "nameless" on 10/25/05, who
was dissatisfied:
I suspect he/she has not had much experience with PC power supplies.
Molex connectors are almost always tight and a pain in the butt to
unplug. So that is not unique to PC P&C supplies. I have found that
to be the case with the 4 pin power connectors on just about every
power supply I have worked with unless the connector is worn out.
Besides, tight connectors are a plus. Loose power connectors are
resistive and can get hot and cause unstable power. So far as the
cables, we found even these lowest end PC P&C supplies to have ample
cable length and number of connectors. We have had no problems
reaching every drive in our servers.

" After buying a PC P&C Silencer 750W psu (non-quad model) from an online store here in the UK and realising some months later that I should have purchased the quad version, PC P&C were good enough to exchange the 750W Silencer (plus the difference in cost) for their Turbo-Cool 1KWSR model provided I paid all shipping costs. In fact the first option they offered was to redo the harness of the 750W Silencer to a Quad version for free but I needed a certain amount of future-proofing so I opted for the upgrade and am very happy for doing so. The T1KWSR arrived on my doorstep within 5 working days and shipping costs were extremely low.
I have dealt with PC P&C before and cannot fault them. Their products are of the highest standard, any PC enthusiast will tell you that, and their customer support and attitude towards the end user are second to none. I only hope their recent merger into the OCZ Group doesn't change anything."
"When you receive products with no parts list, it can really cause problems; how can you be expected to know what you can't know -- for example, that a critical component is missing -- clairvoyance?
My Dell 470W PS arrived, and it was impossible to connect the serial ATA devices (3 in all)with the available connectors from the PS.
The service folks, as unaware of the cause of this problem as I was, seemed to take a tone that said "what kind of a moron can't replace a power supply?" After explaining to me how to hook it up using the parts not supplied, it finally dawned on whoever I was speaking with that the part he kept referring to did not exist when I said "I don't have one of those."
They sent one in via Fedex Ground cross country, not having the decency to send by air the part they neglected to include in the first place that left me with no CD drives until it arrived. It took 30 seconds to install.
I don't appreciate an unhelpful, impatient or condescending attitude from someone who can't take the time to determine the problem, and can't acknowledge it gracefully when it becomes clear to them they are the ones who screwed up."
"Without a doubt, Pc power and cooling makes the best power supplies money can buy. I have 3 of them now and i wouldn't buy anything else. They also have the best customer service i have ever dealt with. They respond to my email very fast and go above and beyond to make their customers satisfied. Don't skimp with your power supply, get what i believe is the best brand of power supplies you can get."
"This company manufactures the best power supplies money can buy. I will not build a new system without one of their power supplies units. The ordering and shipping process was fast and on time. The shipping carton was top quality. And most importantly the unit (in this case a Turbo-Cool 510 Express / SLI) is in perfect working order. I have no reservations whatsoever in recommending them to family, friends, or co-workers. "
"No problems. Order was received earlier than expected. Power supply seems to be good quality, logs of connectors, cables were plenty long enough. Documentation is limited."
"This company is terrible, and will cheat you at every turn.
ResellerRatings ignores my emails, and this seems to be the only way to get their attention. Please delete this ResellerRatings profile, and all reviews associated with it. Or don't, and we'll take this **** to Level 2.
Delete it, you f4gg0t ****$. Why do I do this? Because if I don't, YOU IGNORE ME!"
"Purchased a Silencer 360 ATX. Reasonable shipping, great product, and no problems. Definately will be a repeat customer."
"Simply amazing product...I ordered and recieved a Turbo cool 510 ASL....installed it a matter of hours ago and tested all the rails with a DMM...all within 1% under idle and load........construction quality amazing, fit and finish are top notch....I ordered monday morning and recieved it today (Wed.).......highly reccomend doing business with."
"Very impressed with this company. Before ordering called their tech support for advice on just what to order, and the fellow I talked with was extremely helpful, very pleasant, and patient.
I ordered the Silencer 470. The product was Fed Ex'ed and delivered on Saturday, just when they said I would get it. It was double boxed, and the Silencer was bubble wrapped. Impressive packaging! Installed the unit this A.M., and it is truly quiet. It is more efficient than my old Antec unit because the heat exhausted out the back is almost non existent. Also, this more efficient Silencer has lowered my case temps 3 -4 degrees F. Highly recommend this company and their products. Website was a breeze to use in ordering online."
"This is my second order from PC Power and Cooling. I have used their Turbo Cool 425 for just under 5 years now without a single problem. Ordered the 510 Express for my new computer. Spoke with a rep on the phone who was very knowledgeable and helpful. Power supply was well packaged and arrived promptly. Great company, great products."
"After hearing for years about the great products from PCP&C I am now a very happy owner of one. I am in love with my 510 watt PCP&C PSU. If it wasn't in my computer i think i would take it to bed with me and sleep with it next to my pillow.
Watch out for back ordered products from PCP&C, they are very popular and sometimes have trouble keeping up with demand."
"I just purchased the Silencer 410 ATX from PC Power & Cooling and I have to say that their customer service is outstanding. My power supply arrived in NY State very quickly and it was well packed. We all by now that these guys are the best!!! keep up the good work."
"Bought a TurboCool 510 EPS12V for a dual AMD MP 2400+ rig loaded with a couple 15k SCSI drives and 6 7200rpm IDE/SATA drives. This PSU has been rock solid and the 5yr warranty is second to none! Great customer service and quick shipping."
