"No updates after I ordered, paid, and waited 25 business days. Until I asked the status.
They said the model I ordered is not available from their provider. Then why they listed it on their site?
I requested a cancel and refund on Aug 4th.
They said need 7 - 10 business days to process. Ok, I am fine, because it is their policy and I agreed.
After the period, I asked the status because of no refund.
They said tomorrow.
Ok, I waited till the next week, still no update.
I sent another email to ask the status and why still delay? No reply.
I sent my final friendly remind before going to report them. Ready to going with legal actions. It is my 1,500 CAD.
Then, they refunded today, Aug 26th.
No apologize or indemnification for their mistake (delay, no replies, no updates, wasted my time, testing my patience).
Anyway, I received my money back. So I increased my rating to 2 stars overall with 3 stars in details."
"I purchased the Samsung Galaxy S20+ 128GB, Black at the beginning of August, and have used the phone for a few weeks now and everything is excellent! I did not experience any issues with my device and everything came thankfully sealed.
There were a few day delays with shipping due to COVID. I wish I had chosen Purolator instead of Canada Post, but oh well, it's not that big of a deal. I would gladly buy other stuff from them in the future."
"Recently dropped and cracked my mate 20x. Try to find a replacement but couldn't justify any phones with smaller screen than my 20x so end up ordered the mate 20x 5G from PDA plaza. Ordered on 10th and got the phone on the 21st. Not sure if this is a package deal or not they even throw me a authentic flip cover case. Email communication with them is prompt. my overall experience with them is very good. Will do business again in the future "
"You can buy a phone on sale but have to wait 15 to 25 business days. Then if you decide to cancel the order, its a 7 to 10 business day refund. All these people are doing is investing your money and gaining a profit within the 15 to 25 business days. If they have a major lost, I hope they don't shut the door and run with all the clients money. I wouldnt buy from them every again, if you have a deal you ship asap or when stock is in. Not for investing people money before shipping a product. They use your money to gain money to pay for the phone and take an extra profit. "
“Hello, we have looked into your case we cannot find your order. It looks like you did not make an order from us.
What is your order number or full name?
If you haven't ordered from us, why are you telling us that we steal money and run away?
This seems like a fake review from a competitor.
We take all of our reviews seriously so we will investigate you. If this is a fake review, we will execute a lawsuit against you to punish you to the full extent of the law. "I loved their assistance. They quickly answered all my questions and concerns. Even though I had to cancel my order due to personal finances , they were always there to help. Thank you guys!"
"Though I had an issue with the payment, they helped me resolve it through very fast responding and kind emails!
Got the phone about a week ago and it is just like advertised!"
"I recently ordered an Xperia 1 II from PDA Plaza. They had a great price for their pre-order sale. My order was accidentally cancelled and the customer service was top notch. They immediately contacted me and we resolved it. I will definitely be ordering my next phone through them. Thanks PDA Plaza!"
"Got myself a Asus rog phone 2. A good product that comes at a great price from them. Not a big gamer but looking for something that is a good computer to do it on. I got the one I did for the ability to go longer hours with the battery power. All in all a good buy."
"Customer service very good and price very cheap but long wait times. I don't recommend if you are in a hurry for a new phone."
"Hi everyone. Here's my small review of PDA. I bought myself a Samsung S20 Ultra. They're the only ones I found who sell thee, dual sim model. I was skeptical at first due to the low prices but gave it a go using PayPal. Very glad I did. My phone was delivered today and it's beautiful!!"
"I bought a Xiaomi Black Shark 3 5G fro PDA Plaza. I received it on June 1st. After testing it and inspecting I found no problem with it.
I am very pleased with the product. Luckily I live in Alberta so the taxes weren’t so high for shipping.
Great prices but could use a little work on the customer service.
I still recommend them."
"Nice fellas. I got my phone for grabs. I just wish there wasn't a damn pandemic so I'd received my phone quick which would make it the perfect shopping experience..."
"I waited 45 days to receive the phone. Quite a while. I don't really blame the folks at pda as they explained its due to all of the covid shenanigans and tcl. Either way didnt have much of a choice lol. They're the only ones i found that sell the phone.
I had to keep in contact with their customer service as they never emailed first. Overall okay experience. It was either waiting for them or getting one in stock on ebay for $3000... ha"
"Wish I had read reviews from RedFlagDeals earlier. I apologize in advance for the rant but I can't explain the endless cat and mouse games I had to play with Alex at PDA during the wait of this phone. I've counted well over 20 email email exchanges back and forth trying to get a precise answer regarding the shipment date of my device. Not to mention the amount of emails that got zero response. Here's what I've learned (most of which has been mentioned here). PDA Plaza is not a store, it's barely an online store at best. It's a couple of guys operating a registered company out of Montreal with little to zero experience on how to provide good customer service. I'd also be shocked if they actually stocked any of their phones anywhere. If they do, it's probably just a pile of phones sitting in their apartment closet. We will all get suckered into buying their phones for the competitive price and depending on how long you wait for it, it may or may not be worth it to you. It my own case, I pre-ordered an S20 Ultra Feb 14th, 2020. The phone is only now in transit. I even emailed them several times requesting for overnight shipping due to the 3 and a half wait they gave me. But no, of course they didn't do that. They also like to pick and choose the emails they reply to. You have to be careful not to be too abrasive with your words, otherwise it's likely they won't reply. So you'll likely have to bite your tongue as you request updates for your phone. Every reply you get will give you a new ship date. But it could actually be weeks or months before you receive it. They will never pro-actively email you to communicate any delay of shipping. They will never pro-actively email you to apologize for the delay. They will almost NEVER be straight forward, clear and concise with you. And they will never, ever offer you some kind of compensation (discount, freebie etc) for your wait or horrible experience. Their supplier is in Hong Kong and likely offers them a bulk discount or similar on their devices. Though I have no clue to their how they pick and choose when to order or ship devices. They always have an excuse as to why shipments are delayed (issues in HK, Covid shipping delays etc etc). I tracked their FedEx package from HK and it arrived in ONE day!! And this is during Covid.
Here's what's happened during these 100 days. My old phone that I planned to sell has dropped further in re-sale value while I waited. I also came across a dozen other resellers online selling the exact phone I was waiting for and they were IN STOCK. Sure, most were priced higher. But one reseller offered the device at about $100 more and I definitely think I would have rather pay that $100 than wait 2 more months. Also, when I inquired about a refund they replied that it would take 30 days to give me one!?!
Here's a suggestion, don't list a device with a shipping date that isn't real! Another suggestion, communicate with your customers when you aren't delivering on an expectation. Why should the customer be the one emailing dozens of times for an update? They should be proactively communicating to customers with updates, apologies and explanations. Better yet, say sorry for the wait, here's what's happened, he's a freebie/discount for your patience if you choose to wait otherwise we would be happy to refund you immediately.
Pro-tip: Only buy a phone if you have confirmed from them it is 100% IN STOCK. Do NOT pre-order anything. What a nightmare this experience was and sure, I saved a bit of money on this device but it wasn't worth the headaches and I'll never buy from them again.
Update: Phone finally today 05/28/20. No complimentary nano screen protector in the box as promised by Alex, surprise."
"I was looking and following their website for a good bit. Was always skeptical of their website. The prices were too good to be true. But I took the risk and bought it via paypal for protection. Surprisingly enough they shipped the exact item i ordered (p40 pro) within the timeframe they gave me. Very satisfied. Special thanks to Gustavo for answering all my questions and concerns in a timely manner. Very happy customer! Will buy from you guys in the future. !!"
A rep from PDA Plaza, lorelie.bouchard, has responded:
“Hello Viet, thank you for your feedback. We take all criticism seriously.
I want like to apologize for the delays with the refund. We are a small Canadian business, and COVID-19 has delayed many of our critical elements.
That being said, we have apologized many times for the delay. We have called you and emailed you about it. We have records about it.”
