"The attention to the customer at ProPortable is nothing less than incredible. I stumbled on the company in a Laptop Magazine ad while looking for a lightweight portable. Justin O'Dea patiently listened to my needs and made recommendations. As for the Asus M5 computer I bought, I like it mainly for its light weight. The battery life is not what I expected, but I can live with it. I am a system builder, and my supplier ran out of a certain part, cd-rom for a laptop. ProPortable gets thier stuff straight from the manufacturer- no third party distro house, like I must deal with.

Now getting into this business, I found quickly that most retailers will not share one bit of advice or help with you if you sell competing product. Justin at ProPortable sent me the drive out, that day, when he only had the drive, and a limited supply at that. Not only did Justin set me up, he helped me out with some advice per better suppliers so I dont get in that situation again. Wow, when most wouldnt say a word, Justin helped out termendously.

"I stumbled upon ProPortable purely by chance, but I'm very glad I did. They were pleasant and helpful both before and after the sale.

The laptop (M6Ne with 1.5 GHz Dothan (715, I believe is the model number), 40 GB seagate drive, 512 MB RAM and standard CD-RW/DVD drive) is great.

The ability both to select exactly what (modular) parts you want and to order the computer without an operating system is very welcome in an age of "this is what we offer and you'll take it and LIKE it" stores.

The price seems a bit high when you first look at it, but it's actually in line with what you would pay for the same configuration *AND THE 3 YEAR WARRANTY* (which is offered standard by ProPortable) from any other vendor. And even were that not the case, $100-ish dollars is a small price to pay for personal service. Plus, much to my surprise, the computer came with quite a nice bag to carry it around in.

All in all, a great experience and ProPortable is now the company I recommend to anyone considering a notebook."

"i have to say at first I was a little reluctant in ordering from PROPortable due to the location and item pricing but decided to go ahead and give them a shot and as soon as I submitted an email inguiring about the Asus a730 Pocket pc, literally within 15 minutes I had a response from Justin O'Dea answering all of the questions I had asked.
