"DO NOT USE THIS ONLINE STORE! It is a total scam. I ordered 2 games totalling $138 on Dec. 31st 2008. I received an e-mail that they were shipped on Jan 2nd 2009. I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE GAMES AND THEY ARE REFUSING TO REFUND MY MONEY! They respond to all my e-mails with the excuse that the post office is still checking it out. Do they really think we believe that it takes 8 months to check out if a parcel is missing or not. "After my poor experience with another site I checked reviews written by other people to see what they think about this site. So I thought after reading positive comments okay I'll try it. I wanted this cd from an fairly unknown duo Denki Candy so I bought it using moneybookers. Everything seems fine,they replied quickly and recieved my payment fast. After a few weeks the status got updated to product shipped so now I'm waiting. Still I seem to have a rather bad feeling about this when I read here that they sometimes aren't as reliable as some people say. I do understand that it will take some time seeing as how I live in a very small country far away so it will take longer to arrive.

update: It said on the site it would arrive in my country on the 27th of July. I waited from monday till friday. Today it's friday and I woke up saw my dad emptying the mailbox and he called me downstairs saying he got something for me. I was so excited; I finally got my cd,the box was in perfect condition so it wasn't bend or seemed like it had already been opened. Just perfectly packed. I opened it sorta roughly,got my cd out and saw I also got a coupon for 5% off. Yay and i'm not lying. Sure some people got bad experience with this site but I gotta say it got here quicker than I thought. Great online store (so far haha) "

"I've heard from some friends that play-asia is one of the best online retailers on the internet, so I decided to give it a try. This purchase was for a Sony Traveler Case for the PSP. The delay time posted on the website indicates a 5-15 day waiting time. So I had no choice but to patiently wait for the item. On June 23, I contacted them, saying that it was already 15 days and I asked them what seemed to be causing the delay. They promptly replied with:

"Thank you for contacting Play-Asia.com.

I am very sorry for the delay in shipping your order. There is a sudden
delay in restocking. We regret the restocking date is still not
confirmed. We will try to get the stock and ship your order as soon as
possible. If there are any news, we will contact you. For the time
being, we kindly request for your patience.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask."

And so I waited again, sent them a couple of e-mails during the past month, and to no surprise, I got the same "generic" response. I even asked them why they still list the item as "Available" if they don't have any stock at hand, and they replied, aside from the usual generic BS, that "Our colleague would update the website soon if required.".

Today is July 25 and still no word from play-asia. And I must say, considering the fact that this is my first purchase with play-asia, it has been one terrifying and very disappointing experience for me.

I WILL NEVER ORDER ANYTHING FROM PLAY ASIA AGAIN!"

I have ordered previously from Play-Asia and this is the first time they are not sending replies.
I am very disappointed because of this. So I want to caution others about ordering from this site. It is no longer a trusted site in my eyes.

UPDATE: They finally sent me an automated reply telling me that it would take about 3 weeks to investigate and asked me to be patient. Its been almost 21 days since my order was shipped. Does it require three weeks to complete an investigation? "

"I've bought three times at Play-Asia.com, with three different shipping methods. I must say the products always reached in perfect conditions and in good time (a regular air mail with DS games took 5 days to South America!). The products are of quality and has really good prices (not so good in shipping though).

But what I most highlight is the customer service. They always replied my mails within a day. In one order they ran out of an item's stock, but they apologized and refunded the value to PayPal. In the last order, because of my country terrible post service, it got returned without motive, and in Play-Asia they kindly reshipped it to me at no cost. The order reached safely this time.

It's a great service with great products, prices and customer service.

It would be good to lower the shipping rates, or to add more shipping methods (regular post mail with insurance or tracking).

" I would've written this sooner if i'd found out about this site.

I'm from India and here, only the most popular game titles make it to local stores. For other games, I have no option but to import them. Thats when i came across play-asia which had pretty much whatever i wanted at good prices.

I read all good reviews, and decided to order from here. But so far I've had a terrible experience with my first order itself.
As i wanted to try them out i decided on a small first purchase of a component A-V cable for my PS2. And logically I opted for the free shipping option as there's no point paying thrice the product value for shipping.

It never came for even 3 months (more than the standard mentioned 4-6 weeks) when i finally decided to mail them.
Their reply was : Please notice that sometimes items are held up by your local post office or customs service. If you haven't done so yet, we recommend you to ask your post office for assistance as well.

So i spent more than a month enquiring in my local post office, the head post office and i even had an acquaintance in the customs department enquire if the item was held up by customs. There was no such shipment from hong-kong or anywhere to my address.

Now I am left wondering if they have actually shipped the item, as they had claimed to.

>>EDIT 1: The issue seems to have been promptly resolved within a day. After seeing my problem, they've e-mailed me saying they have sent a replacement. Customer service seems very good and this may well be an isolated incident, seeing all the other good reviews on this site. Anyway, I will be updating again as soon as i receive the item.
