I researched notebooks for approximately 6 weeks prior to purchasing my laptop. I decided on a Compal CL56 from powernotebooks. This was the best consumer purchase I have ever made. The staff at powernotebooks are extremely helpful and have an outstanding knowledge of their products. If you are planning buying a notebook from the major retailers (i.e. Dell, HP, Toshiba, etc) DON'T!!!!!!!! You will never find the kind of professionalism from the sales and technical support that is offered by Donald and his staff. BE WARNED....You will regret the sale if you don't buy from these guys!
The day I ordered from them I sent a cashier's check for the amount and they started my order before ever recieving the check and when they recieved my payment they sent the order that day! "I was shopping for a notebook for a few months trying to decide which notebook to get and then from whom should I purchase it. I was also a little apprehensive about purchasing a notebook from an internet retailer (i.e. not Dell). When I initially contacted PowerNotebooks they answered all my questions even though they understood I was still shopping around and placed no pressure on me to order. Everytime I contacted them they were helpful and curteous. In retrospect I spent a few months worrying about nothing. They helped me choose a notebook (Asus M6bne) which is awesome and has worked flawlessly out of the box and they are very professional and a pleasure to deal with. I have had no reason to contact their support by I did once inadvertently dial the service number instead of the sales number and the phone was answered on the third ring. They even expedited my shipping to second day air after offering me that option and I commented it would be nice but I couldn't afford the extra dollars. What a nice surprise to see the email the next day with my FedEx tracking number.

Ironically, a friend of mine chose a Dell and has had nothing but problems with it. Apparently, the only thing worse than getting a new notebook that doesn't work properly is having to wait on hold for an hour before a tech can verify that you have a problem.

This is my second experiance in purchusing a laptop with Power Note Books, in both cases the need was for my business. My curent need will be in communicating to the producers I work with both on line and in person. When in the field two major areas of service which my duties require will be for training professionals and preforming seminars for their clients. Having had a good experiance 4 years ago with my first purchuse of a Segar laptop it seemed smart to keep to the same path to fill my current need.
