"I didn't know what I needed in a laptop and have had major problems with local computer stores in the past, so I told the powernotebooks salesperson what I need one to do and he was extremely helpful in laying out the p's and q's on what each item does and can be expected to do. Because I know several people who've purchased laptops from this same company within the past year, I trusted him to give me the truth. With that info. I was able to make an intelligent decision. I rec'd my new laptop almost 2 weeks ago and love it! The price was right, shipment took 4 days, and I have the laptop I want and need to do the jobs I do. Thank you, Donald at powernotebooks.com. I would (and have already) recommend you and your product to my friends! "
"What can I say that hasn't already been said about this company except they continue to be responsive, knowledgeable, and sell great products. Fast email responses (inquiries, UPS tracking, invoicing), as-promised delivery, and a personal touch (unlike so many others) make it joy to do business with Powernotebooks.com. Try it, you'll like it!!"
"I didn't really require any specific customer service, but the turnaround on my order and the quality of the Sager NP5680 SUPRA I purchased were top-notch. I highly recommend PowerNotebooks to anybody looking for a quality laptop."
"I had a really positive experience with Powernotebooks.com. They were very friendly and gave exceptional and quality service when purchasing my notebook. If I ever need another notebook or peripherals I will definately purchase from them again.
Thanks,
Gerald McKoy"
"Great customer service. Had an issue with the first shipment (cosmetically damaged) that required I send the unit back but they recommended I file a claim with UPS. They cross-shipped a new unit to me once the claim was accepted and I was very, very pleased about that.
I have to say that I love the laptop (C 3:16 Supra) and it's probably the best laptop I've had to date. I've owned quite a few laptops over the past 8+ years including Dell, Compaq, Toshiba, Gateway and IBM and this one is as good if not better than any from the brand-name manufacturers.
They offer a variety of configuration options on their laptops in an easy to navigate way. Unlike some of the major vendors where you get lost in their site and end up selecting something at a much higher price than what they seem to advertise..ahem..dell..cough.. I particularly liked the fact that you could buy the laptop without and OS which keeps the price down.

"Rarely have I seen this level of customer service. I have purchased from many vendors who disappear once the product leaves their dock. PowerNotebooks.com on the other hand has remained involved every step of the way. They have communicated with us several times via e-mail and telephone, to keep us informed of the status of our order and to assure our satisfaction with their product. I'd rate them EXCELLENT!!
"
"Very efficent. Kept me well informed. Worked through a credit card issue and were proffessional about it. Well packaged product. Absolutely satisfied. Reffered two more customers.

"I learned about powernotebooks.com from a member of my linux users' group who ordered from them about three years ago and was satisfied. Ordered a C 3:16, which was competitively priced--expensive, but then it's a really nice notebook. I've been using it about two weeks. Very solid machine, but light; the pictures don't do it justice at all--my old dell is positively flimsy by comparison. I only use Linux, and the C 3:16 offers excellent linux hardware support--the Prism 2.5 mini-pci wireless option was a big plus. Everything important seems to work: video (incl. DRI for 3D, though there seems to be a bug in DPMS off), all network devices, cd/dvd playing (haven't tried burning yet), sound playing/recording, the synaptic touchpad (including side-scrolling), CPU clock speed adjustment according to AC/battery (required some acpi work), and more. ACPI suspend-to-ram does not work under 2.4 kernels on this or any other notebook, but swsusp is apparently available (I haven't tested it). At 1.4 GHz, the CPU does 2785 bogomips. I have the 5400 rpm 40 GB hd, which gets over 31 MB/s buffered disk reads according to hdparm -t. At 600 MHz with screen brightness down, the battery really does last well over four hours, even with wireless on. The hardware support is even better than that even of my colleague's Dell Inspiron 600m, which has the benefit of being more common.
The C 3:16 seems like very good choice for serious linux users.
On to powernotebooks.com. They're apparently a small operation: very flexible and friendly. I know linux users are a small minority, and don't expect much accomodation, but no major vendor I contacted was willing to sell a laptop with so much as a blank hard drive, which doesn't seem like asking much. Not even IBM. Powernotebooks was happy to sell the notebook with no OS, and even offers mandrake preinstalled. The company does not offer direct linux support, but hosts (and frequently posts in) their very helpful phpBB forum, which is frankly more useful anyway. The ordering site was simple, clear, honest, and informative, with uniquely frank and knowledgeable discussion. No annoying mail-in-rebate gimmicks, upselling, or unnecessary bundling either.
The notebook arrived on time (a day earlier than promised, actually), safely triple-boxed. I have no complaints and would recommend this vendor to others."
"very very fast and professional service. ordered before going on vacation, but that didn't stop the ordering. still went smooth. very nice laptop, this PowerPro 5:16 is. "
"Knowledgable assistance with notebook questions. Very helpful and great service after the purchase."
"Would buy from this company again. Very fast and professinol service. Prompt replys to any questions by email. A great company to do business with."
"I Just want to say that this company goes out of their way to please their customers i talked with them on the phone about issues they were very professional and helped me in every way i purcheased a sager Sager NP4780 SUPRA from them i am extremely satisfied with this product it is everything i expected and more and the order came in 5 days ahead of schedule than i expeted"
"Chills and Thrills.
I ordered a Sager 8890 in late October and received it within two weeks (as estimated). I would have wrote a review earlier, except I misplaced my bill. Anyways, I found it so here I am.
First the chills. I am for the most part happy with my purchase, but there are a few things I would change (if Sager and PowerNotebooks would hire me!). My laptop: fans smell like dead fish, puts out lots of heat (so the keyboard is hot to touch), and UPS may have towed my box through dirt roads. If I had a chance to make a "special edition" I would revamp the logos, adjust the ergonomics of the keyboard, move the placement of some USB ports, use a combo of heat sink and casing material to cool and silence the system, and have a combined driver installation program. Then I'd make PowerNotebooks into a multi-billion dollar industry and put all the other computer stores out of business :) What a grand scheme... okay back to reality.
The thrills.
In contrast to many large-size companies, PowerNotebooks's email and phone responses are quite prompt; and service, friendly. Many other computer dealers seem to ditch you after you drop down the money--they don't seem to understand the concept of lifelong loyal customers--, with that said, I appreciated the check-up, "how you like your system?" email I received from Donald a month after my purchase.
Before I found PowerNotebooks, I was doing price-features comparisons between systems from Sony, Alienware, Dell, Acer, VoodooPC, etc, etc, and several other local stores (I live in Canada). I wanted a DVD-rewrite laptop, with enough power and space to replace my old systems. Thus I needed a computer to be able to do video editing, graphic design, programming/web development, work, and game playing. I'm happy to say my Sager 8890 works quite nicely so far. Or in advertising terms... "When I first opened the PowerNotebooks's box my face lit with a glow, as one who has opened a box of treasure... the feeling of holding one of the most powerful laptops on the face of the planet. Then I installed the operating system, it booted-up quickly, and didn't crash. It's been over two months and I do not recall seeing window's blue screen of death even twice."
After I stumbled onto resellerratings and found PowerNotebooks I was surprised by the simplicity of the website, the "insider information" on the laptop industry, the price-features of the systems, and the port-labeled photos of the machines. PowerNotebooks has the feel of a homely local computer shop with good prices, and "real" people; yet offers the power and options of more aggressively marketed brands.
My biggest chill is probably that I didn't find PowerNotebooks years earlier, it would have saved me time, money and headaches from shopping in other places. Price, features, and service... most computer stores I have shopped in (during the last ten years) have gotten maybe two of the three right. PowerNotebooks caught me off-guard when they gave me all three and even tossed in a few unsuspecting bonuses such as a free carrying case and cash back (?!?!!).
In conclusion.... I would recommend PowerNotebooks to anyone who is looking for a good notebook computer... go ahead and do some shopping around, then come back here and experience the difference. All-in-all, I'm fairly happy with my system. Thank you Donald, Sager, and PowerNotebooks."
"I cannot say enough about the machine quality and customer service of this company. I just bought my second laptop from them, for one of my employees, after loving the one I got for myself in August and being so impressed with customer service.
I got fast shipments of both machines; when I had a question about a possible technical issue, my sales rep Donald had a technician call me back within a few hours/ same day! (No waiting on hold!!!) and I got my answer quickly (no issue after all, and they very nicely listened to my concern and explained things). Emailed questions to Donald have always been returned within a few hours and sometimes within a few minutes. As I said in an email to them after this second purchase, if they carry the type of computer my company needs at any given time, I won't even look anywhere else. The prices are excellent, the machines are high quality and a great mix of features, and the customer service is unbelievable."
"An absolutely first rates company. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for a notebook computer. There tech support is amazing. Even the small stuff they take care of. Ex...I wanted to know how to hook up two computer using "firewire". Joel got back to me (via email) in three hours. I was able to accomplish the task.
