I'm a college student (Go Gators!), and school requires a notebook for my program. So I was forced to buy a laptop, that could buy a lot of ramen noodles I might add. I'm also a hardcore gamer and computer user and despite my limited budget still demand performance from my computer.

You should read the article on powernotebooks.com about how notebooks are only really manufactured by 3 companies and the big corporations like dell and sony just repackage notebooks with their special stuff. If you don't believe them go to any mom and pop store that sells notebooks and they will tell you the same thing. Or dig around on the Internet. You can find the corporate sites for Cleevo and Compal out there. Most underdog stores (not dell, sony, etc) get their laptops from a company called Cleevo or Compal. Cleevo is better and they make models for Sony as well as Sager.

I bought a Sager 4060-C (2.4 Ghz, 512 ram, Radeon 9000). After getting the notebook, I was impressed with the quality of the notebook, and it runs all the games I play.

So pros and cons:

Fast and Furious:
-The company is good. Bottomline. No bs, timely replies on e-mails excellent communication. Great Value on products and services.
-Laptop is rocksolid. Runs all the games I play like Battlefield 1942, Jedi Knight 2. Any Direct X 8.1 product runs smooth.
-Powernotebooks.com website is very easy to use. You can select a notebook, configure it, and add shipping all on one page. This feature makes it easy to get a bottomline price, and to compare prices with other notebooks. I didn't see any other company that had an order form as simple and straightforward as powernotebooks.com


Vin Diesel:
-Pricing was slightly higher than that of some other competitors, but not by much, especially when considering product quality and support.
-Puny bag: The bag they give you is better than nothing, but its still only good for basically putting a handle on your notebook.


Bottomline: Best place to buy notebooks online. Money well spent.
