"I'm not too good with writing reviews but here goes.
I find Powernotebooks to be a very reliable vendor, and after having purchased two laptops from them, will probably be using them as my sole vendor when purchasing a notebook computer.
The first machine I bought was the Sager NP5165. All in all a solid product, but the sound system was a bit on the quiet side and the keyboard was a bit flimsy. The screen was wonderful and the battery life was great. No real regrets with the machine but it had minor flaws that got annoying after awhile. I sold it to a friend and put the money from that towards my second purchase.
My second, and most recent purchase from this vendor is their own namebranded model, the PowerPro R 11:36.
As good as the NP5165 was, the PowerPro is the more solid notebook of the two in just about every way. The keyboard feels better, and the chassis feels more solid. This model also has the best sound system of any notebook I've ever used.
Neither of these are really reviews of the site itself. I find Donald to be very straightforward in his approach to his sales. He has not once attempted to 'sell up' or lie about any of the products on the site. Any time there is a problem they are more than able to take care of it. The line to service is also direct, no dealing with automated message systems or such.
I don't see myself using any other vendor for notebooks from here on out, so long as this store exists."
"After days n days of asking Donald Stratton at PowerNotebooks.com numerous questions about the X7200, which he delightfully answered for me, i finally placed an order for the X7200, fully kitted out with 990x extreme i7, 12GB mem, 3 hard drives totaling 1.5 TB, dual SLI 580m etc etc and the killer networks bigfoot 1103 wifi card built in as well as an express34 card slot.
Donald was very helpfull at every step. Apart from answering loads and loads of questions about the machines configuration options, he also kept me informed with all the slight delays due to the hectic christmass period and the worldwide shortage of the wifi modules, which is no fault of PowerNotebooks.com, let alone a UK delivery order.
Donald obliged me when i opted to receive the laptop without the wifi card module in the end to prevent further delays as i was eager to get my hands on the laptop but the wifi module is already in the post, not even two weeks after receiving the laptop.
Laptop delivery was about 4.5 weeks considering. It was very well packaged and arrived in mint condition. It's a beautifull looking laptop and the pics you see on the websites and on youtube videos do not do it justice at all....its a sleek machine and very sexy. Also, i can play Battlefield 3 at 1920x1080 with full ultra settings and it runs as smooth as a babies bottom, i was totally 100% happy with the performance, a beast of a machine when it comes to sheer power.
All in all, i had a very pleasant experience at Powernotebooks.com and their website is very nicely laid out and apart from all that good stuff, i found PowerNotebooks.com to be the cheapest out of all the reseller's i researched. Also, Donald was a very nice chap to deal with and i was able to ask him all sorts of questions and he done his upmost to satisfy my concerns about every aspect of my order. I'm sure they are all as pleasant as him at PowerNotebooks.com. They really know how to treat a customer right. Very professional indeed!!
